Yes I will definitely watch it, but I really want to hear it in a musical context - from when the synth was new 🤗😍😎
Now to look for Froese patches for the thing.
For the internal 250 kHz sampling rate engine, just fine. But I tested it only on the M2 iPad Pro.
Edit: BEWARE!
It turned out the list may be false. ChatGTP just make a guess.
Ok - chat gtp just pointed to some legendary all time favourites:
Depeche Mode - "Enjoy the Silence"
Underworld - "Born Slippy .NUXX"
Leftfield - "Song of Life"
Future Sound of London - "Papua New Guinea"
BT - "Flaming June"
808 State - "Pacific State"
The Orb - "Little Fluffy Clouds"
Air - "La Femme d'Argent"
Massive Attack - "Teardrop"
Impressive

So I'd definitely give those artists a (re)listen, especially NiN and Vangelis (at least those are the two artists I'm most interested in revisiting lol). I'm unsure of the specific use cases of each artist with the Microwave, but I'm sure you can draw inspo from listening to said artists.
Used as an AUv3 in GarageBand is not a smooth experience so far (although to be fair, I do have an older iPad Pro). Getting the keys to trigger reliably is almost impossible. Load in a patch, tap on keys and there's nothing for about 3-4 seconds, then it plays. Switch to another patch and the same thing happens again.
Seems like it could be a GB issue. In my experience, GB doesn't like to "play nice" with some plugins. My suggestion is to try it in a different host (AUM, Bam, whatever) and see if you still have the same issue.
On iPadOS GarageBand is the only DAW I use (so my files remain compatible with Logic Pro on desktop), so I have to stick with what works for my particular setup. I'm guessing others may have better luck.
Ah now I see. Fair enough. Well hopefully I have some decent luck with it in NS2.
Future Sound of London… Is there some Microwave in it? Such a brilliant classic.
Yes, I'd like to know if this is a GarageBand-only problem... or just an old iPad Pro problem.
I can test for you mate...once I get my Mini 7 and can purchase the app tomorrow. I'll test in GB and in NS2 and in AUM.
Cool. Thanks.
Awkward AUv3 sizing in Logic, but it’s workable, just. On a 5th gen Air with M1, one instance is not overly high on CPU. I have only flicked through a few presets though. At least I’ve not had DAW crushing spikes like with Fingerlabs PolyWave which has 97% CPU spikes on some presets!
Good to hear.
According to chat gtp - don’t know if it’s true
“ This classic track from Accelerator contains ethereal, evolving pads that are a hallmark of the Microwave’s wavetable synthesis.”
amazing track
No need to do that, use the 'translucent' red dot in the upper left to pan/scroll the UI when the side-browser is closed.

Thanks @Samu
No worries, added a few screenshots to the above post while you already replied LOL.
The AUv3 doesn't transmit any midi so the on-screen keyboard can not be used for recording...
Huh, the Drambo piano keys are sending velocity 127 instead of zero on release according to the Drambo's own MIDI monitor, it looks like a regression in the latest update
Quick heads-up: My 25-min vid on this will be up on YouTube soon, a detailed walkthrough of the UI explaining all major functionality, see some of you in the premiere maybe! No link yet as still uploading
According to AppRaven, both were pulled from the App Store earlier this month. Maybe we’ll see a refresh of some kind.
Though I thought they had both left the App Store quite a while ago.
A sign of iPad life from Waldorf! Maybe this means a Nave update in the near future? 6 years since the last one.
Starting now:
Anyone compare Microwave to Nave since they're both wavetable synths by Waldorf?
I'm assuming the MW is the more organic 'vintage' sounding as it probably has lower fidelity and analog modeled filters, while Nave has more complex modulation and synthesis options.
@128BPM LLMs like ChatGPT might be useful for reasoning-related tasks, but they tend to be very hit-or-miss when prompted about facts. I haven't found any evidence that the Microwave was used on Enjoy The Silence. A couple of the top results on google indicate that it was actually performed with a Moog Model D, ARP 2600, and E-MU Emulator II. Haven't checked the other tracks you mentioned, but I wouldn't take anything ChatGPT says at face value. Always cross-reference with other sources if you're in doubt.
As for Future Sound Of London, the records on Equipboard don't show any evidence that they used a MicroWave. The list there is incomplete, but it's a good starting point - it neither confirms no denies that they used it. In any case, ChatGPT just makes guesses, it doesn't check for facticity, so I wouldn't trust it as a source for truth.
Weird, less than two minutes after reading your msg this popped up in my YT feed and Microwave XT is the first synth mentioned. Not sure how/if the XT varies much.
Thank you for fact checking.
Sorry to be naive and spread misinformation -guess the list was too good to be true
What a crap tool - I’ll go read my old copies of Sound On Sound
I found this link to Sysex banks that can be imported into Microwave. The Soundsets banks are already in the app but the others look new. For some reason they are all duplicated so ignore the ones that end in _1. I used the Documents app to extract the .rar file.

Excellent, thanks! Sounds so so good.
