  • This video sold me on it. I love this kind of sound

  • anyone tried this on an older ipad? (2nd gen pro) wondering if it will run smooth….

I just loaded it on my 2nd gen and it works without issues. I loaded an instance into Aum and it reports ~25% usage with 256 buffer when I play 3-4 notes.

For me, the sound is just far richer than other synths in the same category. You can get a beefy metallic sound, which I didn't think was possible.

  • i wonder why nobody is complaining about the auv3 scaling, yet

Bought. Been using on the PC for a couple of weeks. Very impressed with this.
Maybe they’ll update Attack Drums and Nave to AUv3 🤞

One can always dream but I wouldn't bet on it.

This synth sounds really awesome and the multi option is so cool.

Hey @Pxlhg, can you please test Microwave in dRambo? It looks like that dRambo MIDI keyboard cutting release from the notes. Microwave internal keyboard works fine.

Edit: In AUM, KB-1 and VK work fine, but not dRambo (on the MIDI channel).

Yeah, same here (shocked you asked a dRambonaut like me (not!!))😅

Key was the freshly bought Microwave, and I know you have dRambo! Thank you for the test. 🤗

Was one of the first problems I pointed out in my vid. Still, overall this is a very usable port, with much more attention to detail than some recent desktop to iOS efforts!

If one had instead "invested" €15 euros into Apple Stock eight years ago, it'd be worth €90 - €95 today. Nvidia: €1,216. Bitcoin: €805 (assuming you didn't cash out before the big falloff). 😉

On the other hand, if my personal investing track record is any guide, my 15 Euros would be worth about 8 euros. I'm better off investing in apps. 😂

Once I found the red translucent dot that allows vertical scrolling of the UI there’s no problems using it in most DAWs where the plug-in is already plenty wide :sunglasses:

Is it very different/ better than Animoog x? Sound wise?

It gets pretty crunchy, when the notes get low. Can get dirty in a different way than animoog. Reminds of some kawaii-Samples I have. Really like the pads in this:)

If you had invested €15 euros in Bitcoin instead eight years ago... another story altogether. You would've had 1,000+% growth. The time to invest in AAPL was 20 years ago. :D

  • Found this on who used the original, unfortunately no songs listed:

Just had a quick play, very impressed

  • Wow these presets sound amazing. I have never played with the hardware, but always wanted to…this is a good app. I try to artificially constrain myself to minimal app selection to be productive, and my current setup is 3 synths only: ID700, Twin3, and Tomofon. I love those 3 but Microwave has to fit in somewhere. I guess I’m sucker for very complex envelopes.

I have only bought like 2 apps in the last year - Stacks by Cong Burn and Microwave1. Very very happy with both.

Regarding Waldorf support: Waldorf Attack still works fine for me. Still a good app…no AUv3 support but I definitely got my money’s worth being that I bought it 9 years ago.

ahh, nice. so no more complaints by me anymore :)

    btw it sounds great!

  • wish it could handle midi program change

  • My Microwave seems to heat up my 6th gen iPad just like a real microwave. It's the area under the wavetable display, top center. Even sitting at idle. Not hot enough to cause burns or discomfort but definitely noticeable. I'm wondering if it's as a result of the 250 khz internal sampling rate. If this has to be downsampled on the fly to iPad 48 khz rate that could account for some processor heat. Anybody else notice this heat wave?

Just got the iPad version and it is REALLY nice sounding.

I agree. I was skeptical about the Waldorf Microwave1 compared to the Waldorf Nave, but I bought it today (also iPad version) and I have to say it's great, I honestly recommend it. It is really awesome "toy" for big kids :p

  • Hmm, anyone know how to import user wavetables?

How do you do it Gav? Can’t see that option anywhere…

And searching for “midi learn” in manual yields no results

  • A better arrival then Discovery. Microwave is absolutely fantastic.

Covered this in my vid BTW and it is in the manual actually, that's where I learned of it. The way to do it is to double tap on a knob or similar control. A popup will appear, and one option it will give is 'midi learn'. Cheers

  • I love it very much too, it sounds so rich! Pretty amazing, I think this is my favourite of the year.
