Nice examples on sonicstate. iOS, when?

I doubt it - I mean it is mostly going on desktop at reduced prices of around 50, no? I would guess an iOS price of about $20, but who knows.
It starts like a broken organ, haha! I think this synth is not meant to be used for orchestral pieces. But, at the 5:00 mark, it shows true power. I’m still excited to see this synth on the iOS platform.
Ha! I really like the broken sounds at the beginning but I like the sort of James bond sounds too!
There are some good sounds in there…some I wouldn’t be able to use. I think it’s a young product. There needs to be more controls available, and proper MPE. The FX need dialing back in use. I just started playing with it, as I won a s/n from Leo’s Sound for More channel.
I find it irritating that they call it MPE when it's just aftertouch. Would be cool if full MPE came to Atoms, but I have my doubts sadly.
Currently the nicest thing I can say about Atoms is that it has inspired me to make physical modelling type patches and synths in Drambo. Way easier than I thought! 🤷🏽♂️
Yes, this synth is definitely experimental and brave, moving physical modeling in different directions. BabyAudio managed to mesmerize me with this one.
Any ideas when this is coming? Am waiting for this and battalion:)))
Looks like this is coming very soon now which is awesome. Always great to see more releases!
I have a question for @tristan or anyone who might know:
Atoms 1.1 on desktop added midi learning which made the MPE more capable, but are you able to do smooth pitch bending on an MPE controller with it? Seems like the pitch bend might be limited to +-2 semitones?
Happy to answer this! Actually, I'll share a quick message from the Atoms dev himself on why the pitch bend range is limited at the moment.
"...I really wish it was straightforward to implement. However, due to the underlying sound generation algorithm, pitch bending too much is impossible in the current setup...More technically: extreme bending would require adding and removing masses and springs at runtime, which causes audible artefacts and possibly (and more importantly) an unstable simulation. I have been working on a way to properly do this, but it would require a lot of time to get right. Would love to implement it though, as it is definitely an awesome additional way of expression"
Well done! So, maybe I missed it in the description, but how long is the intro price good for?
Yay!
Beautiful. At first I feared it would be something like Factory but the sound is much more controllable and this thing really sounds!
I already tried it on the Mac; it’s quite an unusual synth.
Love it a lot. Bought
Got it on desktop, game “changier”, instabuy!
Brillant!
Awesome @tristan thanks for doing what you do. Cheers!
Please post any video or audio files of anything you create that you find interesting. I'm not convinced I'm seeing anything new here yet.
Sorry about that! The intro sale will end on December 6th.
That's plenty of time to scoop it up! Thanks mate. Appreciated.
Some extra free presets here https://soundchills.de/gratis-baby-audio-atoms-expansion/
Will do, it’s one of a kind.
I like physical modelling synths for shure
I think it can do per note pitch bend, of a sort, but not more than a one semitone bend. Perhaps someone else can confirm. I don't think it has mpe slide either? Again, if I am wrong about these, I'd like to be corrected.
Thanks. Looking forward to whatever you make with it.
Does the AU have the keyboard? I see it’s MPE.
Just tried it out. It uses almost 50 % CPU as a single instance hosted in AUM on my iPad Air 4… so not worth to me. The interface is not very easy to handle. It seems to be a straight port and has tiny touch areas. Even when scaled to almost full screen, I had many false touches. Still crazy and fun sounds!
See my comment a few messages back regarding MPE. There is no keyboard access in the standalone or AUv3 that I can see, unless there is a hidden setting somewhere to enable it. From the UI it seems not.
It has the keyboard on iPhone in standalone, on iPad I couldn’t find it as well.
