Good to see some bickering and name calling back on the Forum. I was starting to think that the "Other" section had gone soft...

Nah, iOS musicians are the only hope against humanity.

But jokes aside, we're at a point where it's now an AI/Robotics arms race. Because if one side slacks, there's nothing stopping the other side from developing their technology.

Recently heard that a small start-up made a LLM that rivals ChatGPT with only $6 million. Or the ChatGPT activated machine gun.

(Ironically using the Apple Airpods Pro...maybe music is the Savior after all 🤔😬)

We're still looking at the smaller picture. But we're just living in our own little world, and if anything so much as disturbs it, it's easy to get riled up.

But there is a bigger picture. Or, at least, smaller pictures and worlds coming together to make something grander.

But it may not be a pleasant experience as we might hope.

Do we need a "Nobody cares what you think of people using AI" thread?

    (Sorry. I'm bored this morning.)

Well, sometimes i feel like at current stage of humanity nobody cares what other people think.

Sadly, it seems that humanity caring about people even stops short of the thinking part.

We have to go back further than AI for the origins of that. It feels like the emergence of the Internet accelerated things enormously. I feel like it started back with media saturation numbing us to tragedy. But the de-personalization of internet communications has to be a huge factor as well.

It makes me think of the vast difference between how people think of and treat others when driving vs. how they would treat others in the line at the grocery store. (Though that's changing too.)

I agree, although long term very much support all freedoms even though it’s far from implementable within our current systems.

Blaming conduits is an easy ‘out’, you wouldn’t blame the roads/highways for vehicle accidents in most cases. But the brutality of mankind well, predates our species, nature can be brutal, question is can WE overcome this tendency to save ourselves?

  • I don’t think I will ever be tired of new technology innovations that lower the costs of making art. Sure the evidence of the human involvement can get lost in the mayhem but for all us diehard wanna bee creators… it has been a great time to be alive
spanning the invention of the Moog Synth to the AI possibilities on the horizon.

The most interesting thing for me has been the durability of MIDI 1.0 for so many use cases. MIDI MPE really needs a good keyboard and prices there have not dropped down to my “go for it” cost.
