ScratchBud Vinyl Scratching AUv3 FX (Out!!)

edit: The app is live!

Hi everyone, I've been working on this scratch plugin for a while and it's became a super fun app that is coming very very soon!

You can scratch a sample or the live input. Load your own sample or use the included classics, 'aaah' or 'fresh' samples. The live mode lets you record the audio input up to 3 seconds and scratch over.

With the crossfader, you can cut the scratch sound and play realistic scratch effects like on a turntable. You can change the crossfader behavior and just tap it to open/close it quickly like a hardware crossfader. You can also trigger it with MIDI and use sequencers.

The built-in LFO lets you scratch a part automatically for you. You can set the speed, waveform, amount and the start point of the LFO. When the sync mode is active, you can lock it to the DAW's tempo and use the speed fader as a clock divider/multiplier.

You can shape the scratch sound even further with the low pass filter's cutoff and resonance parameters.

All parameters are AU controllable, so feel free to use a MIDI sequencer or record/automate on your DAW.

It can also work as standalone app and use the mic input on the live mode, if you'd like to scratch your own voice.

It's my first FX app and I'm super happy with it. I hope you'll like it too. I've been beta testing it over a week and got really good feedbacks. It's been submitted and will be live very soon, in a day or two most likely.

  • Will totally get this

  • Awesome @cem_olcay it looks really cool. Congratulations on another great project.

I saw the video in one of the Facebook groups and shared it in the sales thread about a week ago. It looks really interesting and I’m excited to see more about what this app can do!

  • Seems interesting enough to try

  • Can confirm. Lots of fun.

Been "loading" in acapellas and yeah- lots of fun.

  • Yes! Finally something I definitely not going to buy, I have never understood those scratch sounds. I mean, once in ten years is okay - but, repeatedly... huh the horror!! 😊 🤣🤣

(disclaimer: I have all your other apps Mr.Olcay so, you have had my support 😉 )

  • Been testing this for the last few days and have to say it's definitely unique and a lot of fun (and I'm certainly not a big fan of scratching)

  • This looks dope! I will definitely purchase this once it goes live. I bet you will even be able to perform complex scratches like flares etc. if you run this through an external scratch mixer..

  • Whelps, I'm in! Very curious to mess with it!

  • Would love to see InTheory made stable before you release new stuff… 🤨

I wasn't very much into it either. I've been learning DJing last couple of months and naturally tried scratching then almost immediately loved it lol. It was also a great introduction to the FX plugin world for me, because the app covers a lot of important technically challenging stuff that I've never done before. I can't wait to make more FX buds! 😎

But first, I will do this, after the release, promise

Man, I used to have a one deck sample setup, it was mind numbing trying to find a scratch that sounded decent without hours and multiple fx. This makes it so, so easy.

We even had sample lp's like dj rectangle, magic mike.

    Thanks again Cem

  • The "bud" guy is back! And this looks like a lot of fun! :) Can't wait. Thank you Cem.

Haha yessir, I also used to be heavy into DJ’ing around 25 years ago and I was a scratch fanatic back then. We wore out a few dirtstyle records😂

  • Buying that

    Same.

  • I'm going to get this for sure. Scratching done right makes such a cool and creative rhythm. Like Scott Nice Vibes:

  • Love the new Graphics design… Mine..

  • Can’t wait for this!! Been wanting an app like this for years!

  • I really want to make a video on the cool shit you can do with the LFO, Midi Recording, and crossfading to completely warped/mangled timing but know Gavinski will nail it all.

  • Been on the beta and this is a pretty cool app that actually does more than scratching once you dive in. A definite yes from me on release.

  • This looks ace, good work.

    Do it!

  • It would be mad if it was compatible with a portable fader like this..

If it is sending MIDI CC, you can assign it to crossfader AU parameter and can control it!

    Same here. Very excited!

  • I'm not a vinyl scratcher, but this looks like a lot of fun, and I want to try my hand at it!

  • It's much more than just a scratch generator. The LFO control is really fun. Even if dj'ng isn't your bag (not mine either) look at the deck as a kitsch instrument like a kazoo or that muppet fart sounding soccer phallis that sounds like Fran drescher and maybe you'll discover a new process or appreciation for the lil fella

Major wish list: I wish it had some buttons that we can assign multiple "cue's".
Why: On a physical deck you can use tape to mark your cue's, can't do that with a digital deck, if I want to split my acapella into chorus, bridge, solo, the button cue's would allow for this. Alternatively, I could load up 3 instances, but I would certainly fk that all up.

All of Cem's apps are great, he'll maybe even all of Cem is great too!? I wouldn't be surprised.

I managed to get one of these, so I will report back.

  • Cmon Apple.. I’ve got an itch and it needs scratching!
