President Musk - how's it going USA?

edited February 17 in Other

Now that the USA has two Presidents, Trump and Musk, are things twice as good?

How do our American chums feel now that the new White House team have been in power (and very active) for nearly a month?

And how excited are our Canadian friends about becoming a state of the USA? You don't get offers like that every day.

I don't know if we have any Forum Members from Greenland but I'd love to hear their thoughts.

Last week Georgia Representative Buddy Carter put forward a bill to rename Greenland to ‘Red, White and Blueland’.

“America is back and will soon be bigger than ever with the addition of Red, White, and Blueland,” Carter said in a statement to the New York Post.

And Fort Bragg is now named Fort Bragg again after being changed to Fort Liberty. But the rename back to Bragg is not for the Confederate General Braxton Bragg (who supported slavery) but a rename in honour for US paratrooper Roland L. Bragg (who earned the Silver Star and Purple Heart in WW2). A tricky way to rename it "Bragg". Less racist? More silly?

As for Gaza becoming a resort paradise... what can you say? You've got to give President Trump credit for a totally original solution - it is certainly an idea no other world leader would have come up with...

  • @Simon you forgot about Russia, Ukraine, China, Europe and the UK….

  • But seriously, now that Trump is quoting autocrats to justify himself, I am making moves to keep my family out of harm’s way.

  • It is terrifying—especially if you read about Curtis Yarvin who is much admired by Musk, Thiel and some of the other tech bro billionaires. The damage they have done already may not be undone in my lifetime.

They’ve cancelled a huge amount of humanitarian aid (goodbye the valuable soft power of good will).

    They’ve de-funded important scientific/medical research.

    Decimated health and safety departments.

They are undermining services to the poor—preparing to extend tax cuts that disproportionately favor the ultra-rich.

Seem to be in the process of taking over software systems involved in every facet of the government—largely in the hands of unvetted young men whose background is in Thiel/Musk endeavors

    Alienated our European allies…

And this is not even a month into the regime.

This has been making the rounds online: https://www.vcinfodocs.com/

Some of it is verifiable through legacy media, such as the Honduras situation with Pronomos’ Praxis city.

  • Some interesting tweets from President Musk...

$50m worth of condoms allocated by Biden administration to be sent to Gaza!

Luckily President Musk stepped in and stopped it with his DOGE agents.

President Trump said that Hamas were using the condoms to make bombs. Very worrying.

But it seems both Presidents got it wrong - the "Gaza" in this case is a province in Mozambique that received contraceptives from the US Agency for International Development in order to combat AIDS (13% of the population has AIDS there).

It is not the Gaza Strip.

To be fair to Trump and Musk, they are only as good as the information they are told by their staff. And it would seem their staff are not 100% on the ball.

Let's hope they are better at working out bombing targets...

  • Does USAID do some good, yes, but they’re CIA cutouts along with the NED used to sow discontent on every continent to serve corporate interests, if they’re NGO’s why do they need to suckle on the revenue stream of the US Government, a bit of a contradiction Non-Governmental Organisation, quite like the name of the Kyiv Independent.

Time and time again used to suppress the real left, not the faux left.

  • Give me a break. USAID provides valuable services. You are just repeating Musk’s talking points. A lot of people will suffer as the result of shuttering USAID … and the firing of so many public sector employees who were doing important work.

I almost never agree with anything you say, but that little snippet is brilliant. 👍🏼

Although calling it a "revenue stream" is highly ironic considering the current deficit of about $1.9 trillion.

Even more will hopefully get fired when they (if they) audit the MIC.

Samantha Power, she made Ukraine an IAP. Big Brother-Sister.

  • U.S. debt is now $36 trillion.

    How did that happen...?

The real question is where did it go….

As I have said many, many times over.

Adam Smith told you a long time ago, Capitalism would lead us out of a Feudal system, to a system where all power and wealth would aggregate to a small select few, in effect another Feudal system, thus rendering the flow of capital mute. Welcome to the Feudal Technocracy.

  • Not perfect, but it's going much better than prior president.

On the other side of the world we get reports of a lot of the more "wild" things Trump says. From a local perspective, what is going much better under Trump?

I’d say the tentative steps so we don’t mutually destroy ourselves is a good one, otherwise anything we disagree about is rather pointless in a destroyed radioactive world.

Really, Internews Network, Deborah Birx, Paul Offit.

Time to do some critical thinking isn’t it?

    LOL.

I was hoping for some kind of insight into aspects that the papers are not reporting but no luck there....

Now reality slowly dawns you should be able to determine facts from delusional fictional narratives.

Those points of inquiry above are a good starting place, the first is in regards to USAID, the two names were involved with the pandemic procedure.

I could lay it out before you, but you wouldn’t be able to determine if it was or wasn’t propaganda, so look it up yourself.

A truth learned is a truth earned, apply critical thinking and do your own research.

You don't mind some of the more extreme things Trump says like making Canada a state of the USA or turning Gaza into a luxury resort? If Biden had proposed things like that they'd be saying it confirms he is too old and is losing his mind.

Or does he not really mean that stuff and it is just some kind of political PR game he is playing?

Trump is Trump, :D :D :D Genocide Joe didn’t get his name for nothing, that is what history will recall.

And Zelensky the puppet, wannabe dictator, whose strings are dangling…..flailing….

    @Simon to stir or learn?

    If you wish to learn…

  • It doesn't really bother me, but it makes me think like your last sentence, is it a real proposal or a negotiating tactic to
accomplish something better than the status quo. Starts some fresh idea thinking to make things better for all (or the most people possible).
