@Dav When I got up earlier this morning, I could've sworn it was a photo. Now I see better it is a very well made painting!

Quite a lot as you'll see. It mimicks real world art experience to a fault. No selection tool as far as I know, but not really the point of Artrage tbqh. It emulates textures amazingly well, from impasto techniques to canvas bumps, etc etc etc. ☺️ You can even adjust the lighting of a layer to light the textures any direction you wish.

Also, metallic colours. Ah, those are so amazing. Once I get home I'll find you a proper overview video. :)

I used to use "Painter" on desktop, which used to be cutting edge paint simulation software. It's amazing to me that much of the function of that program is now able to be simulated on an iPhone or iPad.

Corel Painter! That was a pretty stellar app. Not sure if it's still around though. Haven't used a laptop for production in about 8 years or so. 😂

But Artrage is definitely a step above Painter imho. At least with simulating real world media. :)

I used to use it before Corel bought it. It really dragged on my old Mac. A total CPU hog.

Wait! It was once called "Procreate" painter, before Savage Inc concocted ProCreate on iOS? 😲 Okay, that's super interesting. Thanks for the link mate. :)

Isn't that funny? I bet the makers of Procreate saw an opportunity and jumped on it when Corel's re-re-branding went through.

I was following a tutorial on YouTube by James Juliet painting this landscape and made this tonight. Wife stopped me so I couldn’t finish highlighting the clouds. Will post it as it. Tomorrow is another day, and drawing. Goodnight…

  • Phenomenal @Dav ! Please link us to the tutorial, mate. :)

Here it is. I only got half way through, I may finish it up today. Need to spice up the sky and clouds and make them glow. He’s using procreate, makes it look easy and fun.

  • Did a cityscape tonight. Wife let me finish this one….
