Sort of a painting ( because of the goodness )
I added a plastic roll to cover paintings.
I found some shoe laces in my belongings the same colour as some plastic coupler things, which I also found. These are for creating plastic holes in camping ground sheets.
Result.
Anyway.
Thread is for decent paintings.
@sigma79 Interesting how the prices evolved over the years, but glad your molding paste is still intact.
I made an Abstract piece of art when I was somewhere between 16-18 (edit: now that I see the date I signed the piece, 17) years old called "Life Forms". It's definitely an action painting for the most part, but before I applied the paint, I added some Crayola Model Magic (their non-toxic sculpting clay). The model magic obviously didn't stick on by itself, so I allowed the Model Magic to dry, glued it on the canvas with superglue, waited for that to dry, and then went batshit with the acrylics! 😂 And this is what I painted years ago.
Apologies for the crooked photo of it, lol. It's stuck nicely in a corner, and so taking a straight-on photo of it was impossible. Of course the saturation of the pigments have definitely faded since I didn't use lightfast colours (I forgot which cheaper brand of acrylics it was tbqh, or if I used cheaper tempura for that matter).
I honestly have always loved Abstract art, but never paid it much thought as back then I was more interested in being a superhero comics illustrator and cartoonist. 😂 Of course these days I gave up cartooning and switched to Abstract art.
And your pics are quite interesting to me.
Always love seeing others' setups.
Finally, I haven't really played around much with Art Set 4. It's not available on iPhone, which is where I've been doing my Abstract painting doodles in Artrage Vitae. I highly recommend the latter in case you want to doodle on your iPhone when out and about. Recently got myself a new Adonit stylus for 30 quid so I don't have to use my finger on the iPhone all the time (strain on my index finger, lol). It isn't a bluetooth stylus, but it is extremely lovely to hold and use.
Frax is by Kai Krause, which if you were around in the initial years of Photoshop you might remember Kai's Power Tools (KPT)
No way! That's pretty cool! I remember Kai's Power Tools.
Actually he only had a small part in it, Ben Weiss is the head developer BUT he, Kai and a third man (Thomas something I think) were the team behind Bryce 3D. Frax was made mainly by the latter two. Ben is an awesome dude and I had good contact with him a couple of years back.
Kai Krause is a maniac in every good way you can think of, such a genius.
Ben used to be very active on the two FB groups Frax has but got children (I think) and have moved on. The FB groups are almost dead.
There was this guy from Austin (Marc T Laube) who did things with Frax no one could understand (he did an animating one showing my name rolling by in the fractal!?). He unfortunately and way to early, died about two years ago and the community, kind of died too.
Edit. name correction
Some album art that never got real, the band split.. Marvin was picked from the hitchhiker guide. Oh, I forgot. These were started in Modo.

Here's another 3D model I did in Modo for "Marvins Depression" I really like this one.

That's a hella interesting story with a heavy ending. I'm so sorry to hear Marc passed on. 😞 RIP.
The Hitchhiker's Guide art is pretty awesome. I loved the movie, and I honestly need to read the book.
My current phone background done in Artrage Vitae. 😂
I went ahead and recorded a koala pack of samples of my little harp. After exporting the pad samples I converted them to m4a to make them small enough to attach here. Load these into koalas A pads, edit each pad to turn on “OneShot” for them so the notes will play all the way through. The harp is in the key of D. I did tune up the strings before recording, and I re-tuned some again to add a few extra pitches. Here it is…
I place these harp samples in public domain, do as you wish with them…
Thank you! Very generous of you 👍🏻
You’re very welcome! Looking back, I should have increased the volume, and think it is more useful played in a minor scale. Fortunately it’s easy to change volume and pitch in koala. Enjoy!
Edit: I’m sorry, @jwmmakerofmusic for going off topic a bit here with the koala samples. Love your latest art posts. Cool looking background, I will have to give artrage a try.
Lol! I'm super grateful for these samples to be honest, so it's all good, mate.
That is great Dav, I'll definitely gotta use them later, Right now I just wanted to say thanks.
Your welcome. I think I’ll try and enhance this, perhaps turn it into a soundfont, make it concert pitch and add more range of notes.
I wonder if FLAC would be a good option for reducing the file sizes. It did wonders on a few drum sound fonts I made.
I will explore that. Thanks, @wim.
Having loads of fun tonight creating textured drawings in ArtRage (thanks again @jwmmakerofmusic), exploring all the tools the app has to offer. I don’t normally make dark and abstract drawings, but this one just kind of popped out. It reminds me of the paintings in the abstract art gallery I played at for a while. These kind of paintings were all over the place. Used my Apple Pencil.
That is bloody beautiful, mate! ❤️ That's the kind of Abstract art I love seeing and viewing, and as you discovered, Artrage Vitae lends itself smoothly to that style of art. Well done! I'm so happy I helped you get that app. Can't wait to see what more you create with it.
Next two pieces of Abstract art.
Decided to go a bit more complex rather than simpler. ❤️
Thanks bro! And thank you for the gift of the artrage app! It’s a great app. This thread sure got me out of the non-creative slump I’ve been in.
Sitting in a coffee shop this morning playing with the new art tools. Discovered ArtRage has a neat tracing feature, so I took a snapshot of my cappuccino, loaded it in Artrage and traced over it with the chalk tool and others. Then used some other tools to continue. Sharing my coffee with you all…
I'm so happy to hear that, mate. ☺️
Also, that art of your coffee is very beautiful by the way.
That is so inviting. I love it.
Thank you @jwmmakerofmusic and @Blipsford_Baubie.
I can tell already ArtRage is going to be my main art app. It’s awesome. So cool how the colors and textures can be blended.
Absolutely mate! Artrage is on a whole different level altogether. Procreate (main and Pocket) is great for cartooning, but Artrage is boss for painting.
One is an Abstract piece of art that reminds me of space. The other is the death stare. 🤣 The "death stare" one has a long story attached.
Good work! My wife gives me that stare from time to time….
Ahaha! Luckily I'm not married to, dating, nor sleeping with this particular woman. Story is, a month ago she sent a friend request on Facebook. I knew her from these monthly events I attend, but didn't know her enough as a friend. She started asking a bunch of questions. At first, the questions were innocent. Then, the questions started getting "spicier", even asking me to call her "cowgirl". 😬 The fuck? Then the next day she was like "Did you think of me last night?" I don't know why, but my gut had a bad feeling about her, so I blocked her.
Fast forward to yesterday, I went to Game Night (aka this month's monthly event) with some friends. She was there! And yes, that is exactly how she stared at me on occasion throughout the night. One, this was a month ago that I blocked her. She should be over it by now. Two, what right does she have to be mad at me when she was giving me unwanted advances? Three, she literally looks like a cross between Lady Elaine Fairchilde (Mr. Rogers Neighbourhood), Skrillex, and a potato.
I mean, okay, to be fair, I probably would date her after knowing her for a year or two as good friends first. That's my golden rule these days - friends first. Been burned too many times in the past by others I've dated and have learned my lesson. 😂
Sorry for going OT on my own thread, but figured I should explain. Okay, back to making art. I'm still in a music creation block, so hopefully I can overcome that for Drone Day on 24 May.
Anyways, here's what I made so far today...
