I saved a new preset and selected to save with samples, but it didn’t save with samples (iPhone) - I created the plugin again and it worked the second time, but that hit point might need to be adjusted.
Also, is there no way to just export one preset? When I go to export/zip it includes all in the user folder
I created a new folder, but put a single preset in, but there’s no way to move a preset from folder to another folder, that I can see. I also don’t see any way to delete a folder within the app.
Does Outgrowth have more preset management options via the files app?
@aqeelaadam Doesn’t look like there’s any preset management for Outgrowth in the a Files app either. So, there’s no way to delete a folder I created in Outgrowth? Or a way to export only one user created preset instead of the entire user preset folder at once?
@skiphunt - Aqeel does drop by here, but he also suggested it's better to contact him directly if you need support:
From: https://forum.loopypro.com/discussion/comment/1445263#Comment_1445263
Emailed him. Thx. He hasn’t replied yet. I was hoping someone here might know since so many seemed to sing high praises of this app near launch and figured someone had figured out what I might be missing with regard to what seems like unfinished preset management options.
I see. Sorry, I don’t have any answers for you other than that I know his apps don’t use the iOS file system for presets at this time.
Kind of late to the party on this, but I have heard so many good tracks posted here that have utilized this that I think I need to just buy it.
It takes a bit of time because Aqeel is so chill and so thorough, but it's well worth watching his videos. The video manual one should be enough to get a feel for if it's for you or not. If you really want to wring the goodness out of it, the others are great.
I just purchased this toad after hearing a project created with it.
I have downloaded the Factory Samples and yet I never see any samples added to the app after the ~2 minute download displays. Note the Load with Samples is greyed out even after the download and app restart.
Is this a bug? My iPad just updated to 26.2.
For anyone considering a purchase… It’s easy to install sample content from your own sample folders and get useful and fascinating sounds so the Factory Samples are just something I would like to hear with the built-in Presets to hear what the creators intended.
Did you do all that from the plugin version only? Have ever you loaded the standalone app?
The only thing I can think of is maybe if you've never loaded the standalone the file system didn't get initialized.
If this was anything like the problem that I had, it might be that the download actually failed when it got to 100%. The way I solved this in the end, I think, was making sure I had quite a lot of space, much more than the samples needed, free on the iPad itself. I'm not 100% that's really what fixed it though.
I had this issue in the standalone desktop version demo. I then tried using my mobile phone internet instead of the usual desktop internet, and it worked! I was able to download the samples.
So it may well be that internet security or proxy settings are causing an issue. Try connecting with a different internet connection, or deactivate your internet security temporarily to see if that helps.
I looked at my iPad storage and I have over 1TB free. The Outgrowth app after many Sample downloads showed 1.6GB.
I deleted the app and data. The app install then shows 84MG.
I initiated the sample download and it seems to download a zip file. A message appears “Unzipping…” and the app crashes.
Then my Storage report shows 253MB (84MB + 169MB zip of samples). Try and download again and it should increase by ~170MB per attempt.
It seems to be a bug in the unzip stage.
The stated top priority for the developer (in the App Store ratings comments) is adding a record samples which probably means making the app an AUv3 FX app. Not a trivial change for a desktop focused developer.
Anyway… I’m sure the download will be addressed since every download request causes another 170MB transfer.
It’s a truly innovative sampler so I’ll just install my own samples until an update solves this problem.
Have you reported it directly to the developer? He does pop in here occasionally but has mentioned that it's best to contact him directly.
It doesn't seem to be a widespread problem (works fine for me and has only you and craftycurate reporting it here), so he may not be aware of it and may not have a way to reproduce it.
I will try Cellular Internet which I have but almost never use… Let you know.
Not yet. I’ll try the alternative internet theory first.
SOLVED: I turned off Wi-Fi and re-installed the app and samples without any errors using the Cellular network.
Does anyone have any clues w.r.t to observability of Wi-Fi interfaces: wireshark or similar tools? I’m quite curious to understand where my wi-fi network causes such a failure. But only mildly so to be honest.
UPDATE: I have an iPhone also running IOS 26.2 and it downloads and unzips the Sample file over my Wi-Fi without issues.
This sampler is a real treat with the provided Presets and Samples to show you the raw potential of the app’s architecture. It’s an instant hit for me producing fascinating results using a keyboard input for chords and melodic triggers. Definately worth the $20 entry fee to inspire someone to get to work applying the unusual sounds, arps and looping content as the inspriation for some finished goods.
I bet some of your StaffPad magic would sound awesome after rinsing it through Outgrowth @McD .
I grade the same thought… but first I suspect I will import Outgrowth audio recordings into StaffPad to start a new project.
If the developer is reading here. I would love to see the Outgrowth FX code in this “Instrument” app re-purposed as another app that:
I am also getting greyed-out “load with samples” (?)
Just grabbed the new update.
On an ipad Pro, got tons of storage space left….
Opened the app standalone. Any clues?
@aqeelaadam
Got them now. Shut down iPad and restarted. And went into the living room where internet connection is stronger 😊 Cheers @offbrands
These new presets are pretty rad! 😀
@aqeelaadam
small bug report:
on stems - crossfade -
value is displayed in s (seconds)
but actually its not seconds...
it should me "ms" milliseconds
( but 1 or even 2 seconds as max- would be even better if possible...)
thanks for a great sampling playground.
@aqeelaadam (or anyone else)
I'm unable to download the new samples, the app just crashes when it reaches 100%. Same in auv3 or standalone.
New samples load but the new presets (I.e. Buzzy Bees) don’t load the associated samples.
I had that problem and was told to try another internet source rather than my standard Wi-Fi. It crashed every time at the unzip stage.
I had 2 choices:
Cellphone tethering for another TCP-IP choice
Or use the cell line access on my iPad: which a bought for mobility and only use on vacation
I would have head to a Starbucks or any public access point.
It's a weird bug but I didn't alert the dev because I want to see the update that enabled OutGrowth in an FX slot or as a recording target.
I hope this helps... Let us know if you get the samples.
I have folders with presets in them I can delete presets but I don’t see how you can delete the folder as you suggest you can?
