Prism is a MIDI plugin. If it does load as an instrument, I don't think it'll do anything.
Hadn’t even thought of that! Gonna try now…..
That is badly needed. I feel like a heel saying anything negative about such an amazing free gift update, but oy, slogging through by developer is really not fun. It's worse than having them all in a huge long list even.
A Roland D50 invaded my Koala on the desktop version !
DJ DJ app works if you feed it in from AUM using Audio Pipeline
Amazing update, thanks Marek!
Since we have Auv3 instruments now, how do I go about changing the root note of a selected scale in keyboard mode? Is it even possible?
cool, i love those toys!:)
Unfortunately! I don’t have the option to choose an AU Instrument on pads.
Could you send me the App Store link for this DJ DJ app inside AUM (not the AudioPipeline one)
Thanks !
You probably didn't buy the Mixer IAP that came out a few years ago. You need that to use this new feature. You should also check that you're using the latest update of Koala.
Personally I don't have a gazliion AUv3's installed and have a very good grip on what each of the installed ones do but I get it...
@elf_audio is keeping track of all the requests made here so no worries here
Found the issue. I had to buy the samurai edition. Now it works 😊
Killer update @elf_audio thanks!
I think I need to get Radio Unit. 😅 I didn't mention it above, but thankful to know this.
Ooh I hadn’t thought about desktop. I’ll have to see if I can get the Polyverse plugins working.
Great Update!!! Took a second to figure out how to resize the apps but do have to move around the window a lot to play/stop or chose a different menu. No complaining though. I can play my Korg and audiokit apps here now without having to do a video then sample it in. And did forget to mention beathawk also. Maybe for elf audio’s next trick we can get a timeline 😃
this is a genuine instance of "game changer" not being hyperbole! i can get rid of my Drambo/Koala project with all its funky routing to achieve the same thing (and not half as elegantly lol)
this makes Koala a very special audio environment.
+1 to tip jar, shirts, koala plush toys
I am curious how to record a full song using Koala, even with the newer additions. I’ve honestly never gotten past the “Sample” tab, so I’ve pretty much used Koala purely to record audio samples and slice them. The Sequence and Perform tabs have been pretty untouched.
Answering my own question: just like for samples, using the pitch knob allows to change the tuning of the selected scale when playing auv3 instruments 😅
I'm in the same boat. In some ways, I was using Koala in the past to avoid the complications of "too much choice". I guess it's quite easy to simply ignore the new feature!
Like I said, I’ve hardly left the Sampler page. I have all the features unlocked but the core feature set is really amazing as is.
It just works. The constraints are the product, at least for me. Glad to hear I'm not alone! (And for the record, I appreciate that other folks work differently and that Marek is so generous in how he continues to develop Koala.)
Get it @jwmmakerofmusic ! There are some radio channels with nature/bird/fire sounds, other with oriental chants, blues/jazz, spoken words etc. This is a treasure trove for sample based music, especially for adding texture to ambient music!
Excellent!
I think I may have found a bug. If I turn on Resample: Main, when I play anything I get "static" in the sound when I play anything. Thankfully the static isn't recorded, because if I do resample, then turn off Resampling, the sound is clean again.
Anyone else noticing this? I didn't do an extensive test. Just a few plugins, and didn't reboot, etc.. I thought I'd check if anyone else can confirm before putting in the time to develop more details.
As I understand it, pads load instruments. Instruments don’t take audio input. Load it as an effect to be able to sample into it.
Note: I am not seeing Loopy Pro in the AU fx @elf_audio
So I can now load Koala as an AU inside koala with koala in an fx slot that hosts koala goto 10?
Lol I actually wanted to do that just as a joke for the forum but apparently Marek wisely avoided a few headaches by not making Koala available in the AUv3 lists
@janm31415 @elf_audio Percussive seems to get out of sync after exactly 12 bars. This seems to only happen in Percussive yet. Just to let you know
@elf_audio I have a request that can be added to bazillion of requests you already have 🤪 It would be cool to be able to automatically time the beginning of a resampling with the beginning of a bar! Something like, when a new pad is clicked on during a bar, it waits for the next one to record. This would ease the recording of sequencer based AUv3s. Especially sequences that don't start with a sound.
