btw. the Scene module is unique among visual and shader editors on iOS. It’s like a processing.org style language built on Metal, where you can store custom state, and even build a playable game. Something that is difficult or impossible to achieve with pixel shaders.

ok, and is, or where is that documented?

@lukesleepwalker just paging you in case you didn't see my edit above.

Edit: more info; so the video demo above is just a single layer. I'm sure you can tell the image I posted first has two layers of this, along with a third layer depicting the "sun" effect. I also have one in my current project where I have a ladybug (emoji) flying around randomly.

I had missed the edit so thanks for the nudge. It looks GREAT. Now you've inspired me...

Thanks! I have a new, better version cooking that has a wider variety of flower types, I wider color palette, and now the flowers don't all face the camera (which would never happen in the wild).

Also added a bloom speed knob, and the stems now grow quicker when a MIDI note is received, but the flower bloom only starts on MIDI note release.

Beautiful! Love the idea of blooming only upon note release...

Next idea, cooking on an adjacent burner, a procedural MIDI City Constructor! (I'm never working on a single project at any one time)

Built upon the same idea as the flowers, MIDI notes start a timelapsed building of a skyscraper going up. Velocity will determine which building type; high velocity = modern skyscraper, while lower velocities create parking garages and shorter apartment buildings... you get the idea.

Details include cranes, scaffolding, etc. Day night cycle will be working. Sun/moon etc etc

    Initial version 1.00

    Simply awesome.

I love that you've creating a whole world.

  • On my part I'm still in Fractal land and loving it.

Nice! I totally dig that cartoon-like texture. This would make an excellent anime background IMO
