@Blue_Mangoo I'll get you (and everyone else) a demo video this afternoon. :-)
I love all the sounds but the 5th & 6th guitars are my favorite and work great with effects from jamup, amplitube, and ampkit.
This leads me to my next question @Blue_Mangoo any way we can get names of each instrument for both iFretless Bass & Guitar? I love the clean UI and simple layout, idk about others but for me it's easier to remember which one I'm looking for by name rather than images which look very similar. Keep the images just put a name below the image or box maybe. Any others feel this way?
Thanks @Ryan
@JMSexton yes, we could do that.
I like to see the names of each instrument too.May be we can choose to see.
@Tanjaree and @JMSexton I totally agree.
@Blue_Mangoo
Here's my iFretless Guitar Demo video. It's just an improv jam.. Hope you like it! :-)
@Ryan Nice video and I always love to see your youtube channel,more!!!
Thanks @Ryan
I'll share this video on our facebook page right now.
Thanks Ryan..going off to get this now...
Great video, it helped me a couple of things.
@Ryan nice video my friend. I liked the jam as well.
The jam reminded me of something Quentin Tarintino might use.
Watching that video of Ryan reminded me that I have one tiny complaint about both iFretless bass and guitar. is there a way to turn off the sliding of notes? It's fine if you want to play slower expressive melodies like in Ryan's video but sometimes you want quick accurate note articulation. Sometimes when I play either I get annoyed that when I fret a note it is either sharp or flat on the attack. is there a setting somewhere to adjust or turn off the sliding feature.
@AkaMarko If I remember correctly you can only do that via midi. For instance using ST you can lower the midi bend range in Ifretless.
Pitch should be accurate on the initial attack no matter where you hit the note, so you can use two fingers to do repeated notes as in one of the demos. It is only movements after the initial touch that register as bends, so for a fast piece, this should not be too much of an issue. But yes, I also sometimes get slight pitch chnages that are unintentional.
@AkaMarko Each note is automatically in tune when you start it. It goes out of tune only if you slide your finger left or right. Other than keeping your finger steady there is no way to lock the pitch on internal sounds. If you really wanted to do that you could connect iFretless Bass to iFretless guitar via virtual midi and set the midi bend range to 0. That's not a convenient solution but it's all we have right now. Playing a real fretless instrument quickly takes some practice. We want this app to be that way too.
@PhilW That's right.
I guess I need to practice hitting the strings and making sure I don't move my fingers at all.
@AkaMarko are you playing on an iPhone?
Hmm...just started up iFretless Guitar and got a message:
Audiobus DSK Notice
Note: This temporary Audiobus API key will expire in 4 days.
Anyone else seen that? Does it mean iFretless Guitar will have to get off the Bus in 4 days?
Just got the same message and got a bit worried.
I've also noted that before launching the app it appears only in th "Output" slot, not in the "Input".
But as the dev said, there's an update going live to solve this (and with goodies), right?
There are great sounds with the IAP, specially the clean electric guitars. I recommend.
Great video @Ryan!
@AlterEgo_UK @Frbeiro It's an issue with it being the first version of the app. Basically they could only use a temporary 2 week key.. They are working to make sure it doesn't go off the bus :-) @Blue_mangoo can probably tell you more. :-)
Thanks for all the compliments on the video. Specially the Tarintino one @thesoundtestroom. :-)
@AkaMarko Yeah, I do make little off tune mistakes as well. Especially when I do chords. On regular guitar i just slap my fingers on their quick as possible and then settle them into place better after im there.. That really makes for an awful sounding chord in iFretless. It would be cool if there was a 'snap radius' option with a slider that ranged from 0 (no snap, full slide) to 10 (no slide, full snap)
I got the same message on my ipad 4 also. And it is only in the output slot.
@Ryan
Yeah, I like the idea of a 'snap radius' option. And as a suggestion for some future improvement, it would be nice to include some sort of random and/or controlled noises like finger slinding on strings or 'fret' noises (well, this is fretless but anyway..)
I would enhance the naturality of the sounds.
@Blue_Mangoo, I'm playing on the iPad.
I've been using it in the input slot
@AlterEgo_UK @Frbeiro @bootsy @paulb
We misunderstood a part of the audiobus registration process. As long as the next app update gets approved by apple within 4 days you won't have a problem. Otherwise audiobus support will be interrupted until the update goes live.
@bootsy I've heard that if you start ifretless first before starting audiobus it will show up in the input slot. That will also be fixed soon.
@Ryan @Frebiero
If you really want a lot of snapping options for iFretless pitch sliding and snapping, get Cantor and use it to control ifretless by MIDI. Cantor is a free app. https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/cantor/id528194314?mt=8
@Blue_Mangoo Yeah, sure that works but it'd be way better if it was just part of your app. That's all :-)
@Blue_Mangoo that works perfectly, thank you!
Thanks for the info, @Blue_Mangoo
