You can install it if you still have the .Ipa backed up. I reinstalled it recently using iTunes.
yeh, I don't unfortunately. Was just back up to the cloud
Have you looked for it under your "Purchased" tab?
Usually can down'oad old apps there even after gone from store.
I didn’t back this up and it’s gone from my purchase history
Thanks for the tip! I looked it up and it shows up in my Purchased tab on my iMac (April 2015) but not on my iPad so still out of luck since I can't download it from iTunes any more...
You can download the ipa file from Apple Store to your iMac (purchased list), and install that ipa file (the same Apple account, of course) on your iPad using iFunbox.
I was hoping I could too but iTunes doesn't give me that option. Everything is greyed out.
Yep. I tried the same way (iTunes )v 12.6.2.20 on W10 and Diode has gone. Looking for the iTunes version was my last bullet.
I still have it installed, would my IPA work on another iPad or is there drm?
If all is lost, maybe try DM1. It is probably the closest thing to Diode that is still kickin around.
Once again, a really big warning for buying anything from the App Store and expecting it to last. It may be a hell of a lot cheaper than hardware, but you are just renting software at the discretion of Apple and the developer, and their continued ability or interest in maintaining the software.
I've said this repeats in the forums. Backup your .ipas> @1nsomniak said:
If you downloaded it on your PC/Mac via iTunes then yes. There is no way to transfer it from an idevice to another sadly.
Just save the .Ipas. I download all my apps on my PC so I backup anything that gets removed from the store on my Dropbox.
I just transferred the .ipa from one iPad to another with iMazing. Unfortunately Diode 108 is pretty unusable on the 2017 big boy. It crackles and stutters like crazy no matter what I do. So I guess I'll have to wipe it again...
This thread inspired me to load up Diode again and its working great on my iPad 4 10.3.3 . Maybe a newer iOS broke it?
I forgot how cool this drum machine is, it kind of slipped under my radar. So many ways to effect every single beat. Feel bad that the devs decided to abandon it, you can tell they put a lot of work into all the details of this app.
I think its downfall is that its offering a feature that most people just dont need. In most cases putting an effect on a channel is enough, things just get out of hand trying to adjust multiple effects on single hits. Ill still be experimenting more using it as a specialized tool rather than a general drum machine.
Its funny they have an advanced mode (whatever that is - im scared) when the thing is already so advanced. What they needed is a simple mode which is just a drum machine with nice effects on each channel - save all the per-beat options for advanced. That way they could reach the mainstream as well as experimental markets.
Btw found the diode 108 manual pdf:

(Hope this weird link works)
Does it do this when hosted inside Aum as well ?
Hmm, I’ll have to try that. This was stand alone iirc.
Please do. Quite interested in the result
Someone should make a BM3 or Pattering drum kit for those of us who never got the chance to hear this app.
For those of us who purchased it and won have a back up .ipa file, maybe the developer will see this and put the final version up for download once more for a few weeks so we can grab it!
The samples were actually licensed from 3 different providers, details can be found in the PDF I linked. The kits aren't really what made this app unique anyways, it was the fx abilities.
That’s good to know. Thanks.
Dope kits with FX added would also be a cool share then
Ill keep that in mind, was thinking of picking up Patterning some day and it has that cloud kit feature for sharing.
Diode-108 included a pretty decent collection of samples(~40MB for ~800 samples).
Okay, so it doesn't even run in AUM and in AB it grinds to a halt as soon as I switch to the app. Worthless
I’ll get one done too using another app. Have been meaning to for a while.
It works fine in AB2 here. You have to turn midi in, and midi out, off in the midi configuration page then it will run.. Also Aum is hosting it fine here as well after an initial bit off faffing about. Try launching Diode first. . Ipad 4, 10.3.3. Unfortunately unable to test in any other configuration. Does anyone know how i can save this app to a PC/Mac for archiving?
