    Hi all!

I would like to know the names of all the iPad apps people would like to sync with Diode-108 so that we can make sure we have adequate test coverage with our beta testers. I'm assuming it's sequencers (like Nord Beat 2, which I've tested almost to the point of nausea during sync coding), DAWs, Loopy, etc.

Loopy, Auria, xynthesizer, midiSequencer, MIDIFlow (can act as a clock generator). Plus, almost most importantly for me these days, hardware clock coming into the iPad via MIDI Interface. In my case, that's usually an Alesis MMT-8 or SR-16 drum machine.

    Whew! I'm glad.

Yeah, no worries on the MIDI coming in (I think). I've been testing with midimux. Are you a beta tester yet, syrupcore?

  • Cubasis for sure, since it sends out MIDI clock as a master. I am not sure if Cubasis can slave to another MIDI clock source, if that function is unchecked in Cubasis? If Cubasis can slave to other apps' tempo, then other apps could be the master clock when using AudioBus with multiple apps.

  • So far I have this list: Cubasis, Loopy, Auria, xynthesizer, midiSequencer, MIDIFlow, Multitrack Studio, SECTOR, Seekbeats, Elastic Drums.

  • and please don't forget Samplr if it hasn't been mentioned already... Samplr Samplr Samplr!

Sampler, fade in fade out, timestrech, pitchshift is for future updates, you don't hurry developers

  • Samplr is an app that I want this app to sync perfectly with. I accept your apology hahahahaa

  • Cubasis, Loopy, Auria, xynthesizer, midiSequencer, MIDIFlow, Multitrack Studio, SECTOR, Seekbeats, Elastic Drums, Samplr, Gadget.

See! hahahaha, Not bad! Just to remind future possibilites

  • trust me your comment was still valid :D

  • Samplr has a MIDI sync out?

  • I yes, it's some kind of automatic thing. I don't know how it works but it has it.

  • Turnado, Flux:fx, please

It looks cool. We're not going to be able to test ALL these personally. We're going to need beta testers who are familiar with the apps to make sure sync is working reasonably.

  • Cubasis, Loopy, Auria, xynthesizer, midiSequencer, MIDIFlow, Multitrack Studio, SECTOR, Seekbeats, Elastic Drums, Samplr, Gadget, Turnado, Flux:fx.

  • Effectrix, most important one!

  • And Beatmaker 2

  • Cubasis, Loopy, Auria, xynthesizer, midiSequencer, MIDIFlow, Multitrack Studio, SECTOR, Seekbeats, Elastic Drums, Samplr, Gadget, Turnado, Flux:fx, Effectrix, Beatmaker 2.

    Holy cow!

  • I don't believe Holy Cow has been released yet, but as soon as it is we will of course want it all midi'd-up and ready to go, just so you know.

After Flying Haggis the Holy Cow seems most appropriate

  • Samplr is by far the most important app in your list

  • Samplr only has MIDI Clock input, unless there is an update in the works? I think Diode is looking for apps that provide MIDI clock out to slave to.

  • edited April 2015

Yes, at this time we're only looking for apps that provide a MIDI clock. That doesn't preclude interoperability. Both Samplr and Diode could be slaved to a DAW.

    :)

@Diode108 not on the beta. Do you use Testflight?

Yes. Email support if you'd like to join.

  • Beta of Diode-108 is MIDI syncing at bpms from 1 to well over 400. Swing is now implemented in slave mode. Sync is very tight, even if the master is INSANELY changing bpm, and adjustable with a +-20 ms slider if you have latency in your system or a host that likes to play ahead or behind its MIDI output.

Coming soon in Diode-108 version 1.1!
