The master envelope release time is 10 seconds maximum! Enough! Master Attack time is 2.5 seconds! Manual said 4 seconds should be incorrect!

  • @Matt_Fletcher_2000: yes, that seems right to me, it keeps paying, as long as any note is being sent/held.

We would like to play a series of notes in Cyclop, record those notes preferably as midi data and then play them back. But I understand that limitation now. So my question will go to Sugar Bytes directly as a requested feature and see what they say or can do.

It would be good on iPad as this app is essentially a DAW plug-in! So a daw would do the sequencing for you! As it's not going to be a plug-in in Auria Pro we (I) have to use it differently than the vst. In this stand-alone version at least. Yes it can be linked to SPA etc, but I'm seeing what it can do by itself.

    Bless!

    :-)

I don't t have this synth, but as i understand it, I think the process is:

    • You press a single note and the "sequence" (FX / automation sequence in Cyclop) starts to play through (BPM synced as you wish to configure it). So it might have 2 beats where the filter rises, then have a tape stop for a beat then 2 beats where the filter falls.

    • You come off the note and the sequence stops

    • You press another note and the sequence starts again

    • Presumably if you play legato and slide from one note to another the sequence doesn't stop but continues?

    • And of course you can send Cyclop midi notes (which produces exactly the same as whatever you do on the internal keyboard)

    Is that roughly right?

So you can't program notes, but you can make a patch that has a sequence of events to it (through recording automation / and or using the in built FX sequencer thingy).

Be good if anyone could confirm / correct the above... because it was something I was wondering too.

Correct! Internal clock will contnue going! I just said The master relase is 10 seconds! In that 10 seconds the step sequncer will continue to perform what ever you program on it!

  • It's then in a similar way to Turnado, the stand-alone does not record any movement etc, but inside Auria you a able to record automaton.

Correct! That is also the reason it does not need to be Auria native!

Only problem is it is only for one track at a time! This is ios problem.

  • I always said I wouldn't ask any questions on this forum, today I said let me give it a try!

Gonna watch/listen the second vid now! ;-)

Not to worry, when I get my fingers on it, I'll know it inside out too. (Or there about)

    ;)

    Vid time!

  • Thanks for the preset demo @animal - very useful.

For me i'm listening thinking - can i do this in the internal Gadget synths. 6 months ago i would have thought, "mostly no".

But to be honest, now i've really got to grips with the outer limits of synths like Chiang Mai, Miami, Tokyo, Chicago, Helsinki (and it's LoFi filter) and maybe Kingston - my thinking now is "in many cases, yes". And especially if i bring Gadget stems into Auria and apply Turnado.

However, Cyclops looks like a quick and fun way to be creative in creating these sorts of sounds.

But then recording, chopping and placing audio in Gadget for composition/arrangement, or even Auria, is a bit of a PITA - so I may end up never really doing it.

I don't really do it with Z3ta and Thor as it stands - that can do this type of stuff too.

So as yet, I haven't purchased...

    Yep! @animal, Nice one!

Had to skip through these vids, saving some for later when I have it! ;) I requested Doug @TSTR do one the other day (not sure if he will still do one, his prerogative), but I will give it a listen if he does.

I said in an earlier post, I'm waiting for Auria Pro to show me the direction I will take (workflow) etc.. So also holding on a little longer before buy.

These vids are good for customers though showing the highlights, helping to make decisions.

    :)

Cyclop: 2 filters (10 choice combined) + 4 choices of filters route + A/B wobbles (16 modulation targers) + Sounds (16 modulation) + StepSequencer (16 targets) + 16 LFO targets ( LFO can be modulated by Envelope) + 9 LFO shapes + 9 Distortions choices on filters serieally + combining 2 oscillators by choosing out of 6 oscillator type (not count your own samples import, which can be formanted and granulized ) + 16 envelope targets + 1 sub woofer osc + 1 stereo imaging effect + 1 bass enhancer + 9 Distortion choices after filters + 9 kind of FX effects ( independent effects sequencer speed options ) + 16 Wobble LFO shapes + Wobble speed changing + velocity ( Upper light, lower heavy velocity by key pressing) + Glide effect!

man! You can not do in other app for this madness just by pressing one key to hold that 10 seconds relase time! So hope you understand this is a real sound design synth!

Why make things so complicated lol. You can modulate everything in Cyclop using the internal "mini sequencers" and/or record knob movements on certain knobs. Playing legato will not re-trigger the modulations, separate keys presses will.

Or you can modulate, certain, things by MIDI CCs from any external source.

Edit: Was not a response to the above post. The forum have a tendency to mess up the post order since the update.

    ^ Hehe. Wow! @Kaikoo :)

I agree with all of you! Possible to create similar in other apps (with some work) but for me there are presets there I may (never) have thought to create and modulate, and mangle and...

  • Just heard back from Sugar Bytes, someone asked if it was possible to transfer user presets from the iOS version to the Desktop version and yes it is, it's described on Page 47 of the manual http://www.sugar-bytes.de/content/products/Cyclop/manual/Manual_English_iPad.pdf

what kind of hiphop has chirpy leads?

The type the birds listen to?

@notesequencing will it not run in Thesys? Something i don't use a lot but seems like it would be ideal for Cyclop to sequence and modulate and record the results into Auria etc but syandalone can you sequence the pitch values in semitones etc?

I get the impression Kaikoo is a bit of fan of Cyclop. ;)

  • This is chirpy lead, I think!

    ,

It is from someone perfeorm using Gadget!

The begining is clear the "Chirpy Lead" sound! Cyclop can make it I guess so!

I am actually waiting for Twin2, that is my type of favor!

I know Waldorf Largo is my real dream!

Well done sir. Very much appreciated. And when She Who Must Be Obeyed queries my 25 dollar invoice I will tell her that the Animal in me made me do it and then say something else about the most beautiful girl in the world and hope that somehow things are approved in a haze of confusion and flattery...

I can't see any since 3 either - they're all marked as 'private'.

Nice one @monzo! That clarified it wasn't my side of things..

just finished the vids on your channel so far, hmm this is interesting to say the least... I liked the sounds in the first vid much more than the latter 2, my itchy trigger finger got a little less itchy but I'm still leaning forward so far.

Same for me - the first vid had me reaching for my wallet, but by the third one I'd put it back in my pocket. I'm worried this would fall into the 'novelty' category for me - a bit like Egoist, which I used like mad for the first week and haven't used it since. Still tempted though...a week's fun is better than no fun at all.
