Weirdly the tempo thing seems to be fixed now. I connected to wifi (the web - don't know if that would have any weird effect), and also it crashed because I laughed Auria, and after that it seemed to fix itself. So 140bpm is now 140bpm.

Bit odd but maybe it's just one of those things.

Loading patches that you have saved just seems to be really buggy. Half the time you press on them and nothing happens. Bit odd too!

    Other than that, still good.

You don't have to make harsh dubstep wobble with it. I can confirm that.

It's a 'big' synth in that it sounds bloody loud and it can do big super saw sounds (basses and leads).

A lot of it sounds to me like the sounds you hear all over the radio and MTV in all types of pop, hip hop, dance music etc that has BIG sounds in it.

The patches are almost entirely dubstep type grit though.

  • Very much looking forward to someone harnessing that power in a non-dub way, just to see etc.

  • vids get fixed yet?

  • ok, got it. Found a way to enter desktop mode on youtube and PUBLISHED nrs. 4 to 8.
Have fun and sorry for the delay... . cheers, t

  • danke danke

  • Excellent!

  • Thanks @animal - I'll digest the new installments slowly over the course of the weekend.

    • and now you can buy it for £19 you're going to hear these sounds even more.

I am seriously on the fence with this one, wobbling more than one of their dubstep presets. If it was a tenner I'd buy it immediately, use it in a few tracks, have a great time and then forget about it. It's at a price though that for me (as a hobbyist) means it has to get more use than that. Like Auria. Ugh. I'm trying to convince myself that I really need it but...

  • anyone else experience a graphical glitch with the Amount knob? (Air 2,iOS 8.3) The knob"jumps"when i reach the middle (12 o'clock)position.Don't know how to explain better :)

  • edited April 2015

Yep. I found it a bit funny. For me a couple of steps in a sequence on the 'amount knob' weren't working and were just making it go either 100% or 0% only.

Hi Matt, how do the wobble rates work? Is it like Miami, where you set the tempo like a delay? 3/16 for example? Thanks

    Hi @Solador78

Basically, yes, like Miami from what I can work out - only much more powerful. It seems to snap to various synced rates as you turn the big wobble knob. I'm not sure you can wobble 'unsynced'.

  • To save a patch and then load it again you have to:

    Save the patch.
    Restart the app.

mmmh,i could find a graphical glitch funny but not when it breaks functions :) This and the preset saving definitely needs a fix.

edit:by the way,is it possible to open sounds from the desktop version?Transfer via iTunes?

TSTR has been comfirmed from SB that presets are interchangeable via iTunes

  • I am still holding out and waiting for a sale. But I don't know how much longer I can control myself. My body starts twitching and shaking and I am salivating and foaming at mouth.

First year SB new product usually has only 15-20% discount

    AKA the dubstep wobble. ;)

  • It's growing on me after playing a demo as I can see that you can use it on lots of ways, but I'm going to wait for a sale too. I think the whole Skeumorphic template is old hat on an iPad in 2015 and I'd be more tempted if it didn't look as if I was commanding a legion of Tomytronic Dinosaurus music bots from 1983 ;)

  • I doubt they'll be a sale for a few months. Not sure I can hold out that long...

Ok thanks for the info. I think I prefer my wobbles sync'd, so it should be all good. Looking forward to trying this when I find some free time.

  • It's dead good.

Feels (to me) like getting your hands on the best possible gear (iOS or desktop).

I think if you don't want to make dance or 'bass' music (or more modern beats/hip hop type stuff) and hate that stuff then maybe give it a miss.

But otherwise, just get it. It's loads of fun.

Main issue I have is working out the best way to get it into tracks. I'm thinking:

    • Create a placeholder bass groove or two and import into gadget's Bilbao.

    • Create rest of track in gadget

    • take stems into Auria

    • re record more modulated and varied bass track / phrases into Auria from Gadget.

  • edited April 2015

I might cave in and buy this tonight.

I hadn't thought about exporting Gadget tracks into Auria, might give that a go later.

  • Auxy (drums) into Cyclops (bass) is a pretty neat combo for getting some grooves going.

I wish Auxy's sounds could be recorded with IAA or AB - and I wish it had midi clock (in or out).

  • I just bought a Itunes card, it's itching like hell.

    TMI man, TMI. ;)

  • Just bought it and had a quick run through of some presets. There are some seriously good chip tune sounds, industrial-style arps, and some vintage wobbly Moog-like sounds. Dub Step almost seems like an after-thought.

  • curse you soladooooooor

  • I said 'Almost'. If you surf presets, changing them every few seconds, then everything sounds like dub step. Go slow and you can find some seriously cool sounds.

  • I noticed some good ones in @animals demos. Old style industrial electronics. That's more my bag and very tempting. Today could be the day...

  • hey any day could be the day with this one if Sugar would put it on sale, I don't know what it is with this one I want it, just being stingy i guess....... or am I?
