hey any day could be the day with this one if Sugar would put it on sale, I don't know what it is with this one I want it, just being stingy i guess....... or am I?

No I'm in the same boat, it's just that bit more money than I would usually pay for a synth, and I've spent a small fortune on hardware and software since Xmas. Surprised they didn't do an intro offer like they did with Egoist.

  • too bad we can't go half and half on one :D

    Yeah!

I think I'm going to cave in soon and buy it, once I get over all the random issues I'm having with other apps...

I see it like a car boot sale purchase. If it was cheaper £7-£10 I would have probably bought in within 24hrs of release just to to another synth in my arsenal, to support the developer and to satisfy my appoholic urge. Anything above £10 however becomes a proper purchase that needs to be properly justified.

I probably will get jumped by PC users reminding me how expensive desktop software can be. Same story as car boot sale to me. If I don't see real utility in something I won't buy it even if I am an avid SB fan.

    I won't buy a new stereo as I already have 3 unless it is like £3 ;)

    @supadom me too.

If I was a pro (i.e. earning money from my music)and it fitted my musical 'thing' then I wouldn't hesitate, it's a professional tool and I spend a fortune on web/design related software so this would be peanuts. I'm not though, so as a hobbyist it becomes a toy that I play around with occasionally, and so another £19 on my hobby has to be considered more.

    Which is a damn shame.

  • It's also a numbers game (beyond the money numbers :). If I had nothing more than Animoog, Thumbjam and two drum machines I would have bought this in the moment, but with my guts stuffed with booty it's hard to peel one more grape, however ripe to bursting it appears to be (from this side of the fence...)

  • It is really a complex version of Gadget Miami! Don't expect much magic here!

  • I sometimes think I spend more time lusting over new apps than I do making music....

Agreed. If one replaces music with women (impossible!) reminds me somewhat of the teenage years :)

NOW YOU TELL US THIS? :)

Kaikoo is spot on here. That's exactly what it is.

It's pretty fun, and the sequenced effects (basically Effectrix) on board, to me, are the magic (and the choice of synth engines, and the lovely sub).

But it is basically Miami on steroids.

Ok. Dammit. That's it. I'm officially transferring my buying-jones to Waldorf Attack.

Us old married guys have got to get our kicks somewhere!

I really think I should stop looking at this one and knuckle down to create some proper music. A new app, a new distraction from learning how to use the ones I already have properly...

Yeah, once I get through the Depression stage I can move onto Acceptance (I had to look that up)!

  • Kubler-Ross googling now!

  • Mmm, I must have been asleep during my psychology last year. And I'm a bloody therapist!

Plus an FM synth, sync'd oscillators, and a sampler player (with AudioShare import). Those Transformer oscillators can get some weird glitchy, industrial loops going like SoundScaper quite easily.

    we support the Cyclop.

    LMAO!

You guys are really making me laugh! (I mean that in a genuine way) :)

Trying to talk yourselves out of it. Hehe

Miami vs Cyclop hahaha. Come on! :-)

I suppose Miami is attached to a seqencer, but when you get to sequence Cyclop (Boom!)

Sugar Bytes make some nice tingz!

Av just seen da videos... (Rhetorical)

I said 'Almost'. If you surf presets, changing them every few seconds, then everything sounds like dub step. Go slow and you can find some seriously cool sounds.

Does it respond to PCs? Cause then you could really get your dubstep on!

I thought you were single handedly boosting sales, what happened??!

Ya, program changes work well enough with the "MIDI PRG LIST", but you're limited to 20 presets.

I have watched many videos and reviews! I worked on it for 7 days already! I guess if you really like Korg Gadget's Miami and part of industrial Sounscaper sounds, This app is perfect for you! Later on, Use it with Auria Pro roll editor, Volcano, Timeless, You will has the most sophiscated modern bass playing for your music! I have about 30 synths app, This one is the most easy to use, you can immerse yourself hours in it! It is already complex, but Fabfilter Volcano will give Cyclop very tasty colors! Try it yourself for the two together!

You like dance track, you should own it!

  • AAAAAAAARRRCCHH I succumbed. I wasn't strong enough.

This is the most expensive app I ever bought that wasn't on sale, autch!

Lust over the apps you have got while making music, bask in their glorious sounds and the joy they bring. :)

It's GAS mate, we all suffer from it to an extent, it's controlling those impulses!

I'll try the desktop version, i tried it in the past and wasn't too enamoured with it but i did identify it with dubstep and i already have Massive so didn't go too deep but it sounds like it's more versatile synth than i thought. Tbh i'd like to finish a song with the synths i have got but i generally sample sounds from other apps so i'm not sure i could justify it.

Does it pair well with Egoist?

  • @musikmachine said:

There are some INIT patches buried deep in the presets for people who like their wobble synths without the wobbles, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for "versatility". It would be like a buying a Ferrari and not wanting to go fast.

  • @solador78 Hmmm. That's the trouble. I often like to park my Ferarri outside a coffee shop and just look at it.....
