  • Also, is it me, or are the minor scales incorrect on the keyboard?

  • I rather like the way the chord and scale options work on this app. So far no problem with the minor scales and I really appreciate having all notes available not just those within the scale . Are you only playing the dotted notes for the minor scales?

  • I thought the dots mark the notes that are in the scale. If you check A minor, for instance, it should just be white keys that are dotted, but that's not what I'm seeing on my device. C minor was wrong as well. I haven't investigated too thoroughly...I think the few majors I checked were okay.

Diode101 need to up their game

  • Wow didn't know there was an introductory price!!! Just got the pro upgrade, but none of the other expansions will let me purchase them, I'm in the UK.

Sorry to be the bad guy (again) but for me it's not really usable on my iPad Air due to much cracks while faster performances. Alchemy is still far superiour with the remix pads (indeed the best morphs in the whole software world). Don't understand me wrong, SynthMaster is awesome but the start on iOS is a bit buggy and felt overhyped. I often wonder why those things seems to go in beta stage to the store. Maybe the beta testers should do a bit more too. Sorry, that is not meant really negativ but sometimes i just don't understand the euphoric here. O.k. i'm getting old and grumpy ;)

  • @parallaxobject You're right, the scale info has a lot of errors. The minor scale is showing the dots for a melodic minor. The harmonic and melodic minors have their own set, so not sure why that's messed up. Also, for a laugh, check out the dots for Aeolian. That's even further removed from a natural minor. No clue what's gone on there, 4 scales steps in 4 semitones. :)

Also, I'm having trouble getting the transport to record. Anyone get that working?

  • It sounds great but they should have beta tested it a bit more. Did I mention it sounds really great?

  • None of the free/free for register patches send the CPU mark over 60/65%, even if that patch is set Poly=12. iPad4.

The keyboard...reordening the left buttons ("Menu", etc) on top, and with the keys a little more narrow, you could have two more on screen.

  • did you turn off multiple gestures from the iOS settings? because we can not control them programmatically, user action is needed and they interfere with the app.

Stuck notes here and there on ipad 4. Try notre dame preset( organ).there are some on other sounds too.

  • Just checked and yes, my minor scales are whacky also ! Oops.

The Audiobus menu at the side is permanently going out and in, and out and in, and .... Also getting now sound through Audiobus routed to Cubase. Seems there is something going wrong with Synthmaster and AB

Update: Working without AB. Routing through ICM4+. But AB is acting also strange. Apps are send always to sleep.

Update: Working now with AB. The old story of what putting first in the chain ;)

  • It looks like somebody has a busy weekend ahead of them. As awesome as this sounds it definately needs the bugs worked out of it.

  • It's early days. Got teething probs myself. Cannot buy extra sound packs yet. When try to buy it says I e already paid for Pro, then downloads it again. Then Sometime I get no sound at all. After rebooting iPad, then it's ok. It should of had more a beta time before the release. But Apples engineers should of tested it themselves before releasing it to us public. Not entirely KV331 fault alone. As long as KV331 stay on top of these little bugs, it will be ok. Still, what I have a quick play with, is very nice sounds indeed, and usable. Hope the lads get there iron out, to iron out these bugs.

  • Oh yes. The other little pain it tells me, that it cannot connect to iTunes Store when it starts up, then no sound at all again.

  • First of all ,the synth has some great patches (not all, and not too many ,but it's matter of taste) and worth the intro price....yeah! Although it tries to cover all range of sounds it has a unique sound colour, fortunately I like it.

I noticed that in some patches that they did not assigned anything to the the xy pads which is bad. But what is killing me is I don't have access to delay time. IMO it's important as the reverb time so I suggest to give us control of these parameters, at least for the patches that have spare empty assignments .

The gesture warning every time I open the app is at least annoying...and now I get the cannot "connect to the store" error ,but I have sound.

Warning for using synthmaster and turnado inside audiobus, I get the "loud buzz" glitch ,so launch turnado first and the synthmaster...

  • Wow, the pads just sound amazing, great job on so many good ones. Sound wise I can see why this synth gets such high ratings after trying it out. I may never use Alchemy again( well that is not very likely , is it?). It certainly stands out by itself how ever.

  • Loads of bugs in this but state saving from the offset is a winner........... if I change the midi input channel away from channel 1 you can't use the keyboard, anyone else get this?

well, you are not alone.I did not had any crackles on Air 2 yet but did not stress it too much yet nor did i tried all (but most)presets.I like the overall tone and i'll unlock the"pro"version for sure but it's still a bit rough arround the edges and i'm a bit disappointed that you can't record any movements (XY pads). And it's a bummer that even with this limited edit functions there are a bunch of presets not making use of the XY pads. And can i not even switch between monophonic or polyphonic or did i overlooked it?
I'm also wondering how intense they beta tested it (if they even had to pull it 2 times before the release).Bulent asked for beta testers here a couple of weeks ago so i wrote them a mail but never got a reply.

It's still a bargain for that price and it's a nice app but definitely a bit overhyped here and nothing i can't get elsewhere soundwise. It's nice to have so many different sounds in one box though, like a good rompler. And it's just the beginning,it seems the devs are listening and working hard which is always a good sign and much appreciated.

How long will there be an intro price btw?Need to get myself a new giftcard first.

I'm finding this quite clicky. Clicks (minute steps) in filter swipes and more clicks when switching between apps in AB. I guess it is version 1 so credit to the developer that otherwise it works reasonably well.

However, personally being of a tweaking kind I'm not finding this very exciting. Glad all of you are having fun. Can't help wondering whether some of the euphoria comes from the PC nostalgia.

I also get audio glitches when switching apps. And the filter clips when pushing the resonance too high

The synth is certainly not much about tweaking, but offering different sounds/presets

  • The sound quality is amazing, probably one of the best you can get on iPad sound wise. Reverb sounds so rich on some these patches, love it!!!!

  • Hey guys, we noticed this as well. It's because Apple hasn't approved our other IAP products. Once the products are approved the expansion downloads/purchases will work just fine.

Regarding iOS 7.1.2, we're trying to downgrade but looks like that's not possible. Coming from Windows environment I find this really odd. COME ON APPLE, WHY DONT YOU LET YOUR DEVELOPERS INSTALL ANY VERSION OF THE OS TO THEIR DEVICES ??? I can goto MSDN and install any version of Windows!

No, no, no :) You can't go ALL CAPS and complain about the Apple limitations/strategy. That's what we do. You're the developer. You know all and see all. We trust you. Always keep your rage and impotence behind the curtain please :)

I was running SynthMaster into Auria, playing back one stereo audio track in Auria with SM going into Channel 2. As I flipped through the presets and played them against the audio track I noticed the CPU load was rising in Auria until I got a CPU overload message. Just playing back the audio track uses almost no CPU and the presets I was using never showed much more than 10% CPU so this kind of surprised me. I've never maxed out my CPU. Is this an SM issue? When I quit SM the CPU meter in Auria dropped down to almost zero. iPad I Air 1 with iOS 8.3.

  • @kv331audio Apple has definitely adopted a ratcheting strategy with their iOS and recently removed the testing capability for pre-iOS 8 from their test flight program. It seems developers have to maintain the older iOS on devices or end up having to figure it out once it's released to the public. They make it very difficult for people to not upgrade and for the developers who attempt to support them.

  • @Paul looking on the bright side of that there will come a point where devs can make apps that aren't expected to run on iPad2 because it won't run iOS x.x and then they can maybe make use of the power in the newer devices?

  • I'm getting a "cannot connect to iTunes Store error" and my pro prestes are not showing anymore.

If it's any comfort this is something many of us seem to be encountering. And thus a known bug/error which is no doubt on their 'why are we working over the holiday weekend?' list.

I actually think, especially with the approval hoops currently in place, that we need to keep reminding ourselves when all excited about the next new thing dropping to also allow a week after debut to find/fix the worse of the snafus before we come to any judgment on the app...
