I’d quite like it if they ever made it so that iMS-20 (which I already have) can work in Gadget (which I already have).
Put a cheesy sound through Auria and Fabfilter, you may get a Lovely pizza.
Mmm...
They seem to be sticking with "porting loads of samples to Gadget".
Module and M1 gadgets are just ROMPLERS.
Getting iMS20, iPolySix etc to work in Gadget is another thing entirely because they'd need to port their synth engines into Gadget.
How about some awesome sounds from the future. I'll buy that.
I'm not too worried about new sounds in gadget- there's TONS in it that I haven't explored yet. Of course, with the m1 rather than gadget going right to 2000 era trance sounds (I'm guilty as charged, even though I rarely listen to that style!) we'll get 90's era house and freestyle? ;-) you got to show me love...
Funny enough, been playing a number of 50th birthday parties in the past year and lots of freestyle requests... I'm in northern New Jersey, that was huge here 25-30 years ago, just like the hair- ha! And I'm thinking, "why does a 50 year old woman want to hear freestyle?" Then I realize "she was 21 when this song was out!" I guess it's no different than this 40 year old putting on hair metal from time to time... :-)
I love how gadget looks and feels. But the quality of the synths is only so so. Doesn't scratch my itch Like z3ta+ and now synthmaster.
Maybe soon @King777.
This is first and foremost iM1 (the Legacy/desktop M1) for iPad. The new little gadget inside Gadget, you just happen to get for free. That said, I do hope the Gadget update brings a proper UNDO system this time around. I've deleted patterns by mistake a bunch of times, reaching for the greyed out undo button in vain
(starting cryin n all soooo much bcos of diz)
Are you sure about this? I think it's going to be the same as with the Module, without purchasing the Module you don't get those Module gadgets.
Give me noise, give me sound, give me goodness, if it be your legacy, but for the love of all things Japanese give me more than 5 seconds in the Bilbao box and, yes, when I've done it wrong let me elegantly undo it.
I was guessing they were going module on this....
Yes, you need to purchase the app first
After that, you get the gadget inside Gadget for free.
ok... I guess that's one way of looking at it
Hehe, just seeing the name in the AppStore search bar is exciting :-)
I go out for a few hours and when I get back I find all hell has broken loose. Korg, please take my money.
I'm trying to get myself excited with youtube vids of the vst and nintendo version... It's not working.
Off topic but hey mgmg4871 long time no see (hear?) Hope all is well with you! Back on topic, yeah looking forward to iM1. I think the original appeal of the M1 back in the day (besides the sounds )was the fact that it was on of the first multi timbral/channel workstations that you could create a complete song on. It remember being blown away trying it out in the music store.Way out of my price range back then.Just reminiscing ....
Ha it's funny that the Holy Bible comes up when you search for aruia pro
I have one of those....
Can anyone in Sweden access iM1 at this link? It says it's available but just not in the U.S. Seems like
It's coming! Like Christmas all over!
https://itunes.apple.com/se/app/korg-im1/id966030326
I did try the Swedish link earlier, same as...
(By try, I mean switched AppStores).
BAH! Must...have...moar...cheese...and...cowbell! :P
Seriously, the reason I like cheesy sounds isn't just for nostalgic purposes. It gives me a challenge to make them sound not-so-cheesy. Usually this is through resynthesis, resampling, chopping, you name it. I normally do resampling and resynthesis in Harmor in FL Studio. This is why I got Nave and Wavegenerator, because both of them have functions similar to Harmor. Nave is easier, but Wavegenerator has that photo-to-audio scanning I absolutely missed, and I can use audiocopy/paste to organise my sounds within Audioshare.
I'm just bored, because I didn't realize how much I can't live without iM1 until this morning. Lol.
Tried with both a Swedish and New Zealand (NZ ppl live in the future apparently) account, and no go. So if it will be released the 25th, it won't be a timezone release thing..
Not too interested in this - much rather have longer sample times in Abu and Bilboa - and FIX the clipping/pops on user imported samples!!!
Oh well.. (Regarding AppStores).
I'm gonna watch some Fabfilter vids!
L8az.. :-)
They got this same exact problem with their new Electribe 2, due to it being paraphonic (and hence cutting off envelopes). It's click-tastic. On a software drum-machine tho, this shouldn't exist to begin with. I have no idea what the devs where thinking when they made Bilbao. It should be an easy fix tho..
@ChrisG "paraphonic"?
Does that relate to the fact that if you hit the same sample in succession it clicks?
I find that if you choke different samples and play few in quick succession it sounds ok - seemlessly moving from one sample to the next - but if you rapid fire the same sample you get clicks (unless it's a very short sample).
Feels like they need some dynamic micro fade out code or something.
Yes, when you trigger samples it cuts of the envelope and starts over every time u trigger it, so you get clicks when its re triggered more rapidly (this is more apparent on longer samples, rounder/softer stuff, like cinematic percussions or whatever). I dunno why they made it that way, being a drum machine and all..
OK. Standing down the buy-it-now troops. May be appropriate it will be released on Memorial Day etc. I wonder if the holiday has any other surprises in store (sic).
The name of the M1 gadget looks like it's Darwin as someone mentioned above, but the code name for the Gadget update is Palo Alto which is a city, and all Gadget gadgets are named after a city. Perhaps there is more in store for Gadgeteers?
