Not so sure I'll buy the iM1 but will get iMS20 this time.

Now that Gadget has midi export I can start using it again knowing that ideas can be expanded upon later, thanks Korg :)

    still no undo though :/

  • 3300 new patches all told if you get all the cards. I can not find out how many are coming with the m1 purchase however.

  • I think 1800 but soon to find out as I am downloading it now! I am so freaking psyched!

  • I got Diode Synthmaster and this in 1 week. Freaking Christmas in May ROCKS!!!

  • In the store. Really bummed that it's iOS 8 only though :(

This sounds wicked great! So much useful stuff! I got the extra sound cards for 10 bucks more! It sounds so awesome I just could not resist!, A lot of bread and butter stuff too and it has all been tricked out with new effects ect to make it sound even better still! Pretty much a no brainier purchase when you get the chance. It freaking works inside gadget also! Now this is a Beast!!

  • Have not found background audio yet.

    iPad settings

  • Thanks man this sounds so lush it is melting my ears!

  • I step out to play racquetball for a couple of hours and you lot all go mad with applust (technical term).

Think I'm going to get me some of that this very minute.... :)

    @Flo26

Nostalgia. A lot of it sounds like 90's movies soundtracks, which can be a bad or a good thing. I'm not sure yet if that's reason enough or if there are other reasons that make it worth it to me.

  • Purchased the M1, but defintely a lot of.underwhelming sounds. I knew that going in, but don't mind expanding my Gadget library. I'm sure I'll find a few sounds in here that will get used for layering, but nothing here knocks me out on its own merits.

  • The pallet is HUGE, it is literally impossible not to find many useable sounds and when combined in gadget, WELL. Home run definately comes to mind....Doug, you have to try this if your not already making a new video like I am imagining you are already.

  • Some of these are even set into very nice splits. It's like the gift that keeps giving!

  • 3,300 sounds...

I don't know if I can take this to me just now...
First the awesome Synthmaster, and now, freak awesome Korg iM1 !!!!!!!!!

As an owner of the original Korg M1 from 1989 I only miss one thing; the background noise... NOT!

The Korg iM1 is a fuckin' masterpiece in programming!
So so much diffrent parameters and sound adjustments. Korg has taking both Gadget and this standalone synth to higher level!

Thank's ALL developer; you all raise the bar what we can do with ours iPads! Thanks!

    Rock on!

  • They come in waves...

Waiting for one more BIG one! ;)

  • Is it a better rompler than Sound Canvas? I already have enough synths, but no Rompler on iOS yet...

  • Keep in mind that eight sounds at a time can be used in combi mode to make your own massive and highly unique sounds. Further editing of volume pan ect per sound is also available.

  • if you start Korg iM1 as an standalone app there's a whole different synth then you get into Korg Gadget...
    Korg has made magic here!

And, Roland Sound Canvas, as someone here mention, is really awesome too. If you can, and like the sound of the late 80's and early 90's, buy both!

Yeah! The possibillitys are endless here! Very good programming by the Korg staffs!

I like the (relative) complexity here, the opportunity to take sounds and make sounds. I don't think it's necessarily a game changer, but it takes Gadget to a whole new level of easy input. I was working on something, importing chords in via Bilbao from Synthmaster, sounds great, but was an effort and a fiddle, having access to iM1 inside Gadget is a big step up for the variety of capabilities. Looks like there's a few things to figure out in the app itself as well, which is very welcome.

Ironically, for those of us trying to scale down and streamline our work this addition offers a great deal of subtraction... a good thing.

Interested to see what @Matt_Fletcher_2000 makes of the day's doings when he comes back in from the shed.... :)

  • I finally figured out that it really does have 3300 sounds with the IAP's. Each sound has a single program or the combi patch with up to eight voices but I do think some of the 3300 slots are for our own programmed or tweaked programs and combis

  • That's how an iOS music app promo vid should be done. Must be nice to have the deep pockets. Not just for the production value, but to pay Donald Fagen's commission for composing their demo track ;)

Nice appetizer pending a TSTR main course review. Thanks for sharing.

Curiouser and curiouser. It would be interesting to see this combi mode in action (wink, wink, nudge, nudge to no one in particular ...)
