Here here!
My top three are as follows...
My mixes become too muddy after a while, and it distracts from the composing process. The low band can be switched to low shelf or high pass. The two middle bands are peak eqs. The top band can be switched to high shelf or low pass. The ability to turn bands off to save cpu would also be a bonus.
I can't tell you how many mistakes when deleting something that set me back a hefty 5-10 minutes. Having "undo" like every other music app would be a godsend.
"Drum/Bass/Pads/Lead" just doesn't keep things organised like a proper track naming system would.
Does anyone else not like the key response on your midi keyboard?
Or is that just me?
It doesn't have the response of literally every other synth app I have.
Try going into the iOS accessed settings for Gadget (not in the app - but from 'settings' on your device) and setting the latency to fast.
Fix the useless Swing please.
That's an excellent idea.
My 3 would be:
Effects gadgets. @u0421793 idea of having gadgets that are effects in addition to the current synths.
Expanded mixer. Each track would have an effect send(s) that could go to one of effect gadgets above. Better yet each track could have its' own effect gadget. Also 3-4 channel EQ on each track.
Expanded MIDI. Make Gadget multitimbrial with MIDI so you could send multiple MIDI tracks from your MIDI sequencer.
(Long shot) multiple audio outs that you can plug into you DAW
That whole episode is a blur. Can't remember anything at all from those couple of days. I must have been panicking about something...hmm...
Half of Korg's legacy collection is now available as iOS versions (MS20, Polysix, M1), so maybe the EFX answer is right there with the "MDE-X Version 1.2 multi-effect plug-in?"
great idea - and I agree with what many have echoed here... but surprised nobody has mentioned the clicking noise on user imported samples into Abu/Bilboa. I've seen it mentioned on this forum before - it's probably the biggest niggle in Gadget for me personally. I brought it up on the korg.net forum and @ChrisG (i think it was you) replied with a comment about " it's an issue with the envelope being cut off and retriggered every time you trigger the sound on the pad. " They said they'd pass it along to the developers...
So for me:
1. Fix clicking on user imported samples
2. Longer times on user imported samples (30 seconds+ would be great!)
3. Better/more fx - either on the gadgets themselves or on the master (I NEVER use the Limiter ever - as it adds a slight 'buzz' to bass frequencies. And every time I start a track in Gadget I turn down the master reverb to about 20-25 and use it very sparingly - it's one of the worst reverbs on ios I think)
of course, midi out would be nice - and more Gadgets (or apps like iM1 that incorporate with Gadget).
1 fx expansion including side chaining
2 better automation editing tools
3 au support and the other apps by korg (3rd party support if au/iaa isn't on the road map)
I think if Korg Gadget host Au plugins this potentially negates asking for midi out and FX Gadgets and makes Gadget more future proof.
The future for any serious iOS DAW is the new au plugin format from iOS 9 forwards, I'm sure all the developers of these apps are looking at this potential. IAA has been great up until now but compared to the workflow of a desktop vst environment it's a PITA.
The new plugins will be hosted in the app itself and save the settings, no loading of external apps and mucking about with midi after saving projects, which are real creativity killers. This would be in-line with the Gadget ethos of keeping it all in a closed environment so you don't need to leave the app.
Maybe they could allow only Korg approved plugins, or they would be sold in-app via their gadget store format, so third party developers can write plugins just for Gadget if they want to control and profit from the plugins.
IMO this has much more future potential than IAA and midi out (which I doubt they'll do anyway)
So I think my 3 are:
1.Au Plugin host (limitless potential this opens up for FX)
2.midi import "open -in"
3.multi-timbral midi in
3 choices isn't much when there's so much to improve.......I hope that they just put undo/ track renaming etc in without asking for it....
Might be good if all who have twitters link thread and poll to @korgiapps

Yea that was me. And Bilbao clicks is another issue they do need to fix.
It's an issue that should'nt be in a software drum machine to begin with really. Imagine if something like Native Instruments Battery had clicks/pops when you triggered samples. To my best guessing, it's an envelope issue (much like you would hear on monophonic synths and paraphonic stuff where every voice shares the same envelopes).
I agree on the
Channel EQ and better FX
Undo
Color options for Scenes
Better track renaming
The last two should be very little work for the developers.
Personally I'do like to have some (rudimentary) velocity with the onscreen keys (especially in Darwin and the Module gadgets)
I'd love to see Korg hire Matt, the nanostudio dev, and replace the nano sound devices with the gadgets while keeping the nano sequencer, which is very easy to use. Won't happen, but it would be nice!
Oh, yeah... that (too)....
To my best guessing, it's an envelope issue (much like you would hear on monophonic synths and paraphonic stuff where every voice shares the same envelopes).
I think you;re right... and you can hear it, I think, on some of the monophonic synths in Gadget too. For example try setting a long deep sine wave on the BD in Tokyo and hit it in quick succession. To get round this you have to duplicate the Toyko instance and then alternate your hits between the 2 Tokyos. That seems to prove to me it's a 'single envelope' issue and they have probably done it to optimise performance. Same with some sounds in Dublin. Seems to be particularly bad with deep bass sounds for some reason.
If a "big 3" is too difficult to come to... and we feel that it would miss some really essential changes...I guess we could maybe stretch to:
THE BIG 5
What do you think, @JohnnyGoodYear ? - you're in communications...
You do know about candy man?
Dropbox is rubbish because you keep filling it up? Not true, I have Dropbox and it seems to behave itself. Anyway I wasn't suggesting Dropbox to the denial of all other services. @Samu seems to know the details about how they can support all file sharing services. I just want the ability to save songs where I choose and even to be able to share them easily.
Three.
We are not unrealistic whiners with a thousand petty things that need doing which we will never be satisfied with. Five, seven, nine, eleven. We are app champions. We only beat you because we love you.
I believe this is about the issues, and getting things done, but it's really also about being clearly heard and recognized as a useful (to them) block. Engage The Three and the truth is if there's anything else on the list they see/want to do something about/can do well etc then perhaps they will.
This is all about getting them to pay attention and focus (in a way that they understand it is in their own best interest to do so).
These would be my top power ups for gadget.
My three
Global and individual channel eq
audio tracks or longer sample length in Bilbao
Kaos pads optional instead of keyboard
No, I don’t keep filling it up. It keeps filling up.
@ChrisG "I live in Sweden"
Why did I think you live in Australia?
Three
Ok. We'll stick to the plan then. 3.
I always have the feeling that if they added the kind of expanded effects setup we often describe/ask for here, the app would suffer a lot in terms of smooth operation. I don't know anything about programming but it seems like there's already a sorta-crazy amount of stuff going on in gadget, considering all the automation possibilities/etc.
I would never, ever, set my foot in that...death trap of a continent. It is my understanding that pretty much all non-human things over there will kill you, given the chance. Even kangaroos (which are supposed to be cute & cuddly!)..
