It's ok, I've found the problem and fixed it.

Cubasis audio latency was set to 512 and Cyclop was set 256. Cyclop doesn't seem to adjust automatically so it just goes dead. Changing Cubasis to 256 brought Cyclop back to life.

    Hmm. That's good to know.

I was hoping it would work. If there was ever a synth that needs sampling its Cyclop.

@xen Would love to hear a sample of your sampling therein etc.

I'll see what I can do...

  • version 1.9.5. I think we can expect 2.0 as a major update... and not free. Anyway, it's good that Cubasis is getting better and better.

My only Cubasis update wish is "Gadget like" or "Auxy like" or "FL Studio mobile like" piano roll midi editor, This is unacceptible from modern touch screen technology stand point, Cubasis owe users this update!

  • @LFS Is there an official(ish) indication on whether or not 2.0 will be a free or paid upgrade? I'm interested in jumping in but jumping in at 1.9.5 when the app store doesn't support upgrade pricing, per se, is keeping me on the fence.

  • I'm really loving the Pianos in this update!
    The drums are awesome too!

  • Has anyone tested how many samplers you can run at a time?
I used to have crackling with more than 4 microlouges on air1.
But it seems a lot snapier now.

    @JohnnyGoodyear

A short looped piece using the MiniSampler. Three instruments sampling three iOS synths. Waldorf Attack, iMini and Cyclop. All the fx are Cubasis, including both the stock ones and the IAPs. The workflow is pretty smooth when you get into it. The cover art is a screenshot of Cubasis playing this back to show the very low CPU usage (just visible, once Soundcloud has cropped the image) I could have tried sequencing the same parts simultaneously, but on my Mini 2, running IAA with Cubasis it would have been nearly maxed out. That alone makes this a very handy update.

Oh yeah, and because the CPU is so low, you can set up a drum instrument, run multiple copies and sequence each drum sound on its own track. Much better for mixing drums - on this one I've doubled the hihats and added some delay.

  • Very nice groove you had going there.

they stated more than one time updates will be free UNTIL version 2.I bet you have to pay for version 2.Fair enough if they introduce some other nice goodies (and fixes!!) though.

  • I am not sure when I got them but Cubasis now has a much larger and better set of midi drum loops to go with the 16 new drum kits.

  • Two issues found:

    1) It's not possible to delete your custom instrument. Though you can do it with iFunbox or any similar app (I'm using iMazing) - just navigate to /Instruments/MiniSampler/User and delete the corresponding .cbi file. So, not a problem at all

    2) The second one is a bit annoying - it does not remember the pad layout. I created my custom drum kit based on the samples from TR-808 and configured its pad layout. When you switch from your newly created kit to one of the factory kits, Cubasis asks you if you want to load its pad layout. But when you switch back to you custom drum kit, it does not restore its pad layout. Not a show stopper at all, but would be nice to have a fix for this

Must say I'm loving the MiniSampler. Thanks a lot, devs!

PS. I wish the IAPs were on sale too

BTW. if you have a Mac and are wondering where to get samples from - Logic has gigabytes of them. Or you can buy MainStage for about $30 - it comes with all the sounds that Logic has

Open the EXS24 sampler, select one of the instruments and then click Edit - you'll see all the samples that instrument uses and how they are mapped. Click the arrow after the filename and select 'Show in Finder' and you'll have your .wav or .aif file. AIFs need to be converted to WAV first

  • @yug To delete a custom instrument tap the media button in the upper left, find your instrument there and tap it to highlight it, then tap the trash can.

    Aha, nice. Thanks!

  • What is the max sample time?

Yeah. Cool. I've been trying to settle on a summer project, maybe it's this....thanks so much for putting this together, plenty there to let my little mind get around. So much stuff that can do stuff, but still stuff has to be dreamt of....

    Thanks again, I appreciate it.

To answer my own question, max sample time is 50 MB per sample or 200 MB per instrument. Hmm. Possible to sample drum loops then and assign to keys for personalized drum loops?

    Thanks Crabman.

  • I think it is possible. So you can have a key playing a great drum loop and hit another key and do a fill. I think this is possible, but i havent done it yet.

On the other hand, they also said that the next update will have new features as IAP so I guess we don't really know

I assume they do it like Auria with their Pro release.Just bugfixes for the"normal"user but you have to pay if you want to access the new features.

Good move if you asked me.

  • So happy when i opened my ipad this morning and the app store told me there was a new update available for Cubasis with a new mini sampler included. Thanks Steinberg.

If I remember correctly somebody asked where to find the additional Allen Morgan drum pattern library:

    • Go to Media/MIDI

    • Open "Allen Morgan Signature Drums" folder

    • Find 128 song oriented patterns (including previews) for the new Allen Morgan MiniSampler factory drum kits

  • Not to buy Cubasis now but wait for version 2. To be honest I'm not overly impressed with the UI.
