  • Hi Lars, I am wondering about the sample waveform in mini sampler and is it possible to have the play head follow the wave for easier trimming?

Guys, check out this remix i made of the On and On demo song using the AM LA Red Kit!
I am so amazed how good these drums sound. I'm really loving Cubasis big time!!!!!!!

Hey, check out this track on SoundCloud: Musikman4Christ On and On Remix AM LA Red Kit Cubasis!

I'm sharing it from the SoundCloud iOS app -- get it here, free: https://app.adjust.io/c1ofg4

  • I updated now and the first thing i noticed is another 400-500 MB of unwanted bloat. Why is it so hard to give the user the control over the delivered content? Why can i not even delete the demo songs? Thanks for the sampler, looks good so far...

  • Hope the future updates bring in more of the "Cubase" functionality to the locators and recording modes. Feels like a demo version to try and encourage folks to buy Cubase, in a similar fashion to the free cubasis versions bundled with some PC's
I'm sure the case is with the devs that they are limited to what they can include at this price range.
I think I've been spoiled by using Cubase in the past. Still enjoying using the app though and more than happy to pay for upgrades that increase functional and creative usage! :-)

  • I've tried Cubasis with gadget via IAA and it actually works quite well. Sync is almost perfect or at least workable. This duo reminds me a bit of the old reason/Cubase combo I used to cut my teeth on some 15 years ago.

The only thing is there's no song position but working loop by loop is doable.

I think I'll need to get gadget piano IAP as I'm finding cubasis pianos very poor.

  • ...and thanks god for the red bar on top of the screen for switching back from Gadget to Cubasis.

Yeah, I like these drum sounds a lot too. As far as I understand, this is where they come from: http://www.steinberg.net/en/products/sounds_loops/vst_sound_instrument_sets/allen_morgan_signature_drums_vol_1.html

Blimey didn't realise God was diversifying from his usual occupation! Lol :-)

  • The Almighty is a big Gadget botherer, but he wants audio tracks or he's going to be celestially displeased etc.

  • Well if anyone is gonna make it happen, you would think he would be the man. Has he voted?

The new pianos in mini sampler sound great give em a whirl.

I believe he is in negotiations with The Shinto Brotherhood, but these things can be protracted.

  • After playing arround with the sampler a bit i have to admit that it's a really nice addition.Great layout, quite intuitive and easy to use imo.Would be nice to see it growing in the future with a simple LfO,resonant filter and tuning (for each sample). That would cover most of my sampling needs quite well. Thanks!

  • Thanks for the advice @nick & @yug as i have managed to use the "Open in" from GB to Cubasis. The tracks are in the Audio Files of Cubasis but when i load them, the BPM gradually loses sync. I set the same bpm, time etc but after starting ok it falls away slowly. Cant find an answer?

As you say @Matt_Fletcher_2000 I will start projects off in Cubasis in future to spend more time trying to song write, but wanted to run my old GB tunes through those lovely effects.

Yes @kaikoo along with the apps free effects i went ahead & got the two IAP packs as well. Very nice so thanks.

So happy with it & just want to play around all weekend experimenting but that'll never happen!! :)

  • How do you create a blanks controller keyboard for playing IAA/AB instruments? At the moment keep having to turn the volume off on the mixer to
    Stop the Piano sound.

simply change the piano to no instrument

Thanks Nick, found it eventually ;-)

  • I must say I'm impressed by how well some of the instruments sound! :-)

  • I'm tempted after all the problems I'm having with Auria.

The drums really do sound good. A drum machine in Cubasis would be awesome.

  • Anyone got any experience getting Isem to sync to Cubasis successfully?

Only just found the additional kits! Too busy messing with the synth ;-)
Very impressed by the quality of the samples used in kits!
The more I'm playing with it the better I like it!! :-)

You mean the iSem arp?Never had a problem if i just set iSem to the same tempo as cubasis.Did not try with the latest version though.

  • @Crabman said:

Didn't try setting the tempo on Isem the same as Cubasis, ,just assumed it would automatically change as clock out on Cubasis is on and Isem was set to receive. I will try again

    Thank you ;-)

    Thank you ;-)

You are welcome. That counts for all synth with arps. Not really necessary that they react to Midi sync because usually you just start them with a keyboard note (via midi) anyway.Works also great with all Virsyn Arps etc.

  • Anybody knows if it's safe to delete all the imported samples after i created Minisampler instruments with them? There are .cbi files in the user folder of Minisampler (checked with iFunbox) from my created instruments. They are quite big (depending on the samples) so i assume it is safe to delete the audiofiles but i just want to be sure :)

  • Yes you can delete the original samples - well, I did and the sampled instruments are still playing ok.

  • How many seconds do you recommend me to sample per octave. I have a Korg Trinity and there are some great patches I'd live to have on my iPad.
Also, Sample with effects or dry?

  • I stumbled over something very weird and i'm quite sure i never saw that when i used iFunbox.I had to buy a fileexplorer because iFunbox don't work on Mountain Lion anymore and my choice was iMazing. It's pretty cool,i like it more than iFunbox but...well...something you probably can expect if you pay for it :)

Anyway, right now i'm cleaning and backing up my huge Cubasis folder and inside the"projects"folder i found a SECOND "projects" folder that contains not only my latest stuff (yes, double!) but also contains a lot of projects that i already deleted a while ago. This folder is NOT visible on my iPad but wasting a huge (but invisible) amount of 4,5 GB space on my iPad.How is that possible?Anyone else noticed this? That explains very well why my Cubasis folder is bloated but i can't see how big the projects are (unless you put them into the trash, that's a questionable design choice).People that don't use file explorer are definitely screwed and they don't even know what exactly is wasting all this space....jeez.
