First off set the BPM you want to record at in Launchpad.
Set any effects you want on.
Press record in LaunchPad then what loop you want.
Make sure you record over the loops length.
Send the recording to AudioShare.
Press Tools - Trim & Fade.
Press Snap and set the tempo.
Press Snap to Beat.
Move the right marker to trim the end. Dead easy by moving it to the correct number of beats.
Press Loop and play back.
The loop should be fine now, if not you can use the nudge settings, but watch you get the same beats.
Press Save.
Rename recording now with loop name and key if needed.
Go to Blocs. Import loop and list BPM and key if needed.
Quicker than the list seems.

You will have to keep your loops in AudioShare and import each time you want to use, as far as I can see.

If you are using FX. Record 3 loops worth and trim to the centre one.
The above may seem a pain, yet it is pretty quick.
The advantage is that only the loops used are taking up twice the storage space on your device. If you could transfer them all over, you would be taking up double the storage space, unless Novation find a way to share the loops in LP with Blocs.
Disadvantage is that you can't choose the loops quickly and randomly.
One app accessing another apps loops 'live' is more an iOS problem, I believe.
When the apps are released by the same company?
Let's see if any Devs come on and can answer that question?
Launchpad for myself is getting on for 3gb. Copy the packs over would be a waste of space.

I bought The Boy a chess clock recently and I am going to try the above method and then also the other approach (slap it into Auria and slice). But your approach allows for saving a directory of cut loops of course....
I do find it odd/weird/a shame that you can't name and access imported loops IN Blocs for future use in other projects.....

Couldn't agree more, and this limitation has major consequences. Because you can't save a user imported/recorded loop, the best features of this app--the browser and loop organization/tagging-- are walled off from user content. Here's hoping that this gets addressed in a future update.
I've not tried it but I guess if you've got the mid clock IAP for launchpad, you could use this with midi link sync to be able to record ready trimmed loops in AUM

@Nathan It sounds to me like you need to watch the latest Haq Attaq on Youtube...
I have this working ok, you have to enable midi out in launchpad and select iSpark Clock In as the destination, then in iSpark open the connection dialog, select midi, then Midi Clock, Then Receive Clock, then select the Launchpad sync source.
Also do you have background audio enabled on both apps ? Also disable link in iSpark to make sure there is no interference from that.
That is frustrating, wonder what was causing the block ? Keep an eye out for it happening again, I'm sure both devs would like to know the answer if it becomes a regular thing for peeps.
I've not yet tried recording the output from this yet, still too busy grinning at what i'm doing with this all working together
Depends what you want to do with the recordings. I always tend to record everything in separately or in blocks. This way, I'm concentrating on getting the levels right for one recording at a time.
If I want that jam along live feel, then I may record more at the same time, but if it's only basic drum beats, I get them down first then chop out and replace sections if needed later.
I'm always somewhere between my live jamming lacking structure and my linear recording in Auria sounding too regimented and spending an age to get the flow of a jamming session back
Loops I do into AudioShare - trim, rename and catalog.
Auria Pro is what I record into and arrange with.
Use whatever works for you.

We're back after the Easter break. Some answer below to a bunch of question above:
1) We have started to address a way store your user samples/recordings.
2) You should be able to import your launchpad sounds, without having to trim in Audioshare, as you can set the loop point in Blocs Wave to achieve the same result?
3) The latest Launchpad release with 'Squish' now has the Key of the most of the packs listed next to the pack in the store. Its just missing a few like the built-in packs. We're looking to how to resolve this.
2) the reason I trim before is so that I can still use the loop points in Blocs Wave to do effects with multiple loops of the same sample and save precious space on my already choka iPad
O and another reason is to keep fx tails intact on time based fx added in Launchpad.

Is this related to Blocs Wave/Launchpad app or both, and will it include a way to save on or off the device a project file so that you can remove samples from the device without destroying the project files ?
As in if you remove a user sample from Launchpad app, it automatically gets removed from the pads it is on in any project, so if you are removing samples to gain space, but want to be able to put those samples (and projects) back at a later date, you have to re-create the project file, which can be impossible unless detailed notes are kept as to individual pad settings.

I'll be honest here, and say that this is harder for us to do.It seems like a task for something like Dropbox or iCloud integration. I'll bring it up with the team.
Yes. It is a definite possibility. As a priority we think tempo first, then Key.
In terms of User storage (in Blocs Wave), we want users to be able to manage their own imported audio and recordings. Then, later, we'd also like better integration between sharing sounds between the apps, but I don't want to promise this just yet. For Blocs Wave, between Link, Slicing, and user sample management, we need to focus on these first and foremost. Link and Slicing are really a lot of fun.
How about an option to zip all the samples in a project and squirt the zip file off to our old friend Audioshare and obviously the reverse?

Definitely tempo first, then Launchpad could get proper link integration for those that want it.
Although thinking about this, when using the MIDI Clock sync, you can start/stop playback of synced apps using the start/stop button that appears in Launchpad and in turn on the Launchpad controller. If abandoning this and going to Link Sync, you would lose that ability I think as there is no start/stop/song position with Link, which would be a bummer.
What would be really cool would be a way to add your own buttons down the right for start/stop of Link Synced apps (where they support it), so that they could be started and stopped from the Launchpad app and controller too
