The new song mode update is submitted to the AppStore, waiting for review.
Nice!
Thanks for the great work Denis, I really enjoy this app so much and will continue to use it as the new Song Mode is really gonna free up my hands to concentrate on the Bass Arp switching while I record a song in Realtime.
Looking forward.
Great!
Question to those of you midi knowledgeable, say I record a chord progression into a DAW and I want to add some sort of swing to those chords after the fact, is that possible? I really love the ability to preprogram the chords in Navichord and would love the chord progressions to have a nice groovy feels especially when adding Funk Drummer to the mix. Is this possible?
Update is live.
Update... Turn progressions into songs....
Update just popped up here...
I'm with you !!!!!
Yes, song mode is officially here! Feedback is welcome!
Wow!!! Thanks Denis for such a huge and amazing free update!
Midi learn is awesome! This is gonna be great for church worship leaders to trigger chords and progression oh man!
Thanks so much!
Guys for those of you that still don’t have Navichord, take a listen to the built in Choir sound! It’s really awesome especially going through the amazing Audio Damage EOS2 Reverb:
I have the beta, but it's telling me in the App Store that I have to purchase it? I should mention i already purchased it prior to installing the beta
Just updated my AppStore Review. Guys, please take a minute to update your AppStore review as it really helps the devs.
I haven't read the whole thread. Is there a short synopsis video of how song mode works?
I'll make a video over the weekend. There is a new sidebar button, so you could zoom out from your progression into a set of 16 available progression slots. Each preset can have 255 chords organized as 16 song sections by 16 chords.
Looks like great software, I’m probably gonna buy it.
As a longtime musician, composer in many genres, I’ve come to know the preferable notation among musicians.
JAZZ musicians have the most effectively simple way to notate.
Capital letter for Major (F) small letter for minor key (f) F7 and f7 are major and minor.
Regarding major 7, they only use a delta triangle behind the key.
Hope this clearifies whatever matter it
Great update!!
Wonder how to play a song sequence automatically from start to finish. It plays 1 section. When tapping next section, it does not play the current section to the end, just current bar, then jumps to next section.
Can sections be repeated for specified number times?
Would like to start "song", play all sections and then stop.
Just fiddled with it for ten minutes. Great addition. And yes, if I figured it out in 30 seconds, you will in 15. It is really is easypeasy. Would be fun if you could specify how many times each 'verse' block could play (maybe you can?)....but I am so hungry for song modes that it would be churlish to mutter now.
Thank you Mister Dev. This was a nice app from the getgo, but your efforts have really seen it mature into something you should be proud of.
I’ve studied jazz bass to masters degree level and played it as part of my living for 10 years, I’ve seen every permutation under the sun but I’ve never seen a chart with small letters for minor and large for major.
There is no real standardisation but ‘The Jazz Theory Book’ by Mark Levine is probably the best text to treat as a benchmark.
I use these:
F (major triad)
Fm (minor triad)
Fo (dim triad)
F+ (aug triad)
F- (minor 7)
F7 (dom 7)
F△ (major 7)
There are more but I’ve run out of usable characters..
**some characters should be superscript
My general logic is to use the minimum amount of characters to transfer the most amount of information with the least ambiguity (and keeping to what’s established in the Levine text as closely as possible).
Here a screenshot of a ‘key’ that I made for an academic document recently. It might be a bit above and beyond but for that document I needed a really airtight classification system which left no room for interpretation error. I use slightly different variations when handwriting or using Sibelius (for example there’s no suitable minor-major 7 symbol in excel) but it’s mostly the same logic.
Great addition, this app keeps getting better, thanks Denis
So, does it play each chord progression unlimited times until you go to the next "section"?
it plays the parts in sequence unless you have the loop mode on when it loops current selected part.
Here my totally non pro screen video capture of me playing the Navichord AB3 One Man Band Preset. Recorded it during lunch break
Sorry forgot to take off headphones so the sound is muffled but you’ll get the idea.
Thanks for the info and the video! Is it possible to loop the parts and move between them using a MIDI controller?
Yeah if you go into the midi learn menu, there’s options for a lot of things. But I’ll check .
Thanks, MM4C... seems powerful.
You’re welcome bro! So sorry for the horrible muffled sounds. It sounded awesome on my headphones. Anyone know what’s the best way to record the audio along with the screen recording?
Also with this and Xequence or any Daw really, you can record the midi output and record the entire song in a single pass! This is truly a dream come true for me!
Once midi is recorded you can tweak your heart out and even change presets , Synths etc!
I chose Poison 202 and Addictive Pro synths because they’re AU and my processing power was not that high so my iPad Air 1 could hang and this was done all on IOS 11 latest!
My goal is to have a stable rock solid setup, record the midi out and tweak later. This way, I don’t fill my iPad with samples as they get huge an i’m Almost out of space.
If anyone wants the Navichord AB3 One Man Band Preset please let me know and i’ll Post it.
