    Yup

Nice! :) how much it’s going to cost?

How much you got? I'm expecting a $10 intro price and uplift to $15-20 unless Jimmy Fallon
makes lightening strike twice and we all get it for even less. But a developer will never talk price until it's time to do the spreadsheet on sunk costs and the estimation of payback time/break even point. In tech some people specialize in pricing strategies. @Michael has been pretty candid on what it takes to make an IOS app pay:

You know he's Mike Tyson, right? Champ. Not an ear biter but still... the IOS Champ.

I can pay much for this app! :) think it’s going to be absolutely amazing! And yes, he is a real iOS champ! :)

Thanks for the link to the interview!

The IOS Champ. IOS would not be what it is, I believe, without AudioBus to create the
interoperability we all take for granted. We might have got here from the success of VST's
in DAW's but the path we took allowed us to get a lot of cool inexpensive apps that showed developers they could compete with the big players by cranking out solid apps that delivered
    some unique features.

  • O.k., so now I'm talking to the ios champ...;-)
I had some interestingbfindings while trying to do live-effects on two mono audio chanels on IPhone (!!!). It worked on Ipad, but when I use 2 seperate mono audio chanels (one for pickup one for microphone) the sound gets out of sync after some minutes. I first eyperienced in Cubasis, then tried audiobus, butbit's the same... I tried solving getting stereo in into audiobus and then I wanted to select single mono L & R as seperate Chanels in Cubasis, but this in not possible? At least an effect would be great where I can just set L&R input to either L or R as Mono output... Or the 'bug' in iphones (triedb7 & 8) has to be adressed, to solve this.

Am I on the right track?

Best post this in its own thread, @mccy , so it’ll be seen and others can chime in. This is just the Loopy Pro thread.

    FORUM "Read the FAQ's, Ma'am"

You have reached the message service for "IOS Champ".

We are either creating amazing new software products, parenting our child or just away from the computer. Please post your request for assistance in a general thread and the community of IOS users will assist you in the order of appearance on the first page.

We appreciate your interest in IOS music making and love to solve problems whenever they do not require ownership but simple commentary. Sometimes someone will duplicate your efforts and report back but sometimes not.

(This is light hearted banter while we wait for you to ask your question on the forum in it's own thread.)

We're still waiting and many are venturing out into the world again... masked but unbowed.

  • Thanks, done. So luvley :-). I was happy to find this thread. Too many topics in my life I lost survei.

@Michael has pitch shift effect really playable low latency?

Pitch shift is pretty much impossible to do in very low latency, because it needs to be done in large-ish blocks because of the frequency transform. Right now I measured the playthrough at about 60-90ms depending on the magnitude of the pitch shift, that's at 128 frames on my iPad Air 2, which gives about 10ms of playthough latency with no effects.

That's just my first cut, though, I might be able to do better in certain cases.

Edit: Just did a little looking around, turns out I'm not 100% correct, there is the possibility of doing it in the time domain at low latency. Doesn't really sound as good, vs the system I'm using (guitar only)

Yes there are much lower latency AU pitch shift really playable like VoiceRack FX from TC Helicon, but it’s abandoned and has some bugs.

Oh yeah? Did it sound any good? What kind of latency we talking about?

I'm definitely interested in improving things if it's possible, but I don't wanna go too far down the rabbit hole without knowing there'll be something worthy at the end =)

Yes, the tc helicon app is ace. In fact that might be the very reason it’s been abandoned. As @Janosax says: it is buggy, who knows, I’m generally not into conspiracy theories but maybe they’ve cut the red wire instead of the green one to cripple it a bit. Although IOS itself is quite good at breaking things as it is. ;)

That is good news. So, it would work on the Mac then?

Currently Loopy when you open it it gives a crash report on the Mac. I sent the report over to Loopy developers advising that I don’t understand why a program not verified as being compatible with a Mac is not working. The audio engine also doesn’t connect. When is Apple putting IAA on the M1? I’m not serious about that last part.

  • there will have a kind of launchpad native integration ?

    Yep - from before:

  • been trying so hard to let @Michael work in peace, but inside i am dying...need more spoilers to survive on while waiting for the beta.

  • I find LaunchPad app so amazing but AU is lacking and, or multi-out… but the Key Transpose feature sets it apart.. hope this get it…nice

    Here're are a couple of tidbits =)

Custom track gestures (configured per colour group - tap, 2-finger tap, swipe, swipe up, down left or right, long swipe, long swipe up, down, left or right):

Track follow actions (configured per-track), including an amplitude envelope for doing things like sidechain compression or manipulating an effect parameter, or sending amplitude out via MIDI CC for external visualisations/etc:

    Multitrack session recording:

Just two items left on my "public beta" todo list (plus whatever outstanding bugs the alpha testers have found recently), then the next wave of beta testing will commence. Can't wait!

You don't need to. The meaning of "public beta" is that the link to join will be made public.

  • Nice! I'm really looking forward to the public beta.

Will it be compatible only to newest IOS? How about backwards compatibility? I have IPod 5/6 with old IOS but its fine for mini-pocket size looping :-)

iOS 11 and up, I think.

  • I remember like a year after the iPad came out I went in a store to look at it. I just opened it and did all the multi tap gestures one by one, two fingers, 3 fingers, 4, all directions. Nothing happened. I just shook my head and walked away…”why?”…

Here we are over 10 years later and it’s still on the table. Baffling to me. Nice to see you’re utilizing that idea. This app is gonna whip so much ass.

  • I really can't wait for this, just one question will Loopy pro be able to record 2 loops at the same time?
Say I want to record a guitar part and something I am singing at the same time but on 2 different tracks, so I can start and stop them individually later or overdub them differently

  • @PaoloMarelli said:

If it takes 3-6 months to add this as a new feature, this would be bad. If it takes a couple weeks it would be very nice... (1) arm N tracks (2) hit record start/stop.

  • Seems pretty basic...I'd be surprised if multitrack looping was not already implemented... Sub mix routing would be cool...channels 1-6 on loop 1, channel 7-8 on loop 2...

Yeah both of those are in there
