I’m sure you get that the synthesis in Drumkit isn’t super advanced but rather selectively simplified by design, it’s not hard to grasp. Suggesting that someone who requests a randomise feature is just neglecting to learn the app isn’t just a wrong assumption, it’s just ignorant. Have you ever used sample and hold in a synth? What’s the difference between a randomise button and just modulating every parameter in a synth with sample and hold, fed with a selection of noise? (Ignoring the fact that most developers specifically design a random button to be a very controlled random) Is that somehow not a valid way to make noises in your opinion? 🧐

    There’s a very obvious benefit in something like a randomise feature but like you touched on, that doesn’t mean that it should be implemented at all, for a million different reasons that can easily get overlooked. And I do get the push back on endless feature requests but I think that somewhat gets chalked up to the nature of forums. So yeah, as WE were saying… Drumkit is sick. Fast workflow, flexible without being overwhelming and most importantly sounds damn good. Buy on sight! 👍

    Look we can all still totally get along; it’s just one of those things that irks me, and it’s always requested immediately if not already implemented, so it’s blown up into this entire tired meme thing in my mind.

    Now, I will not get into discussing the logic of my assumptions; that again is something that is entirely in my mind and not worth turning into lawyer nerds (or worse, philosophy nerds) over. That is not suggesting I’m taking some high road here, but rather acknowledging that I can be a fussy kook and there’s nothing to be gained by arguing that.

    I had a couple of retorts but I didn't like any of them ... wish there was a randomise option for replies, I'm sure it could come up with something great after a few attempts ...

    ⚠️ Very important: Backup your user presets before updating to FAC Drumkit 1.2 (In 1.1 user samples are not gathered to an export folder, only in 1.2)

    Here a detailed overview (The import section is only valid when you are on a clean install).

    @Samu all sorted now if you open in standalone mode check al, the loading options are there then try as a AU and it worked.

    I’ve been playing with adding my own samples to Drumkit recently. It’s great but the patch and file handling seems odd. Thought I’d drag up this thread as I know there’s some talk of it here.

    I created a test kit on iPhone with some samples. I then loaded Drumkit in AUM, moved to that patch, and saved the AUM preset.

    I then transferred the AUM preset to iPad and opened it. Seemingly nothing transferred across for Drumkit, it just defaulted back to the first kit in the bank.

    I’m used to the samples not being saved in the auv3, although Koala and Loopy Pro both save and transfer everything with the AUM preset.

    However, it seems odd to not save anything about the current kit to the auv3 session?

    It’s a shame because I’ll use the built in patches but never bother with my own if they can’t easily be moved around.

    Any chance of making it store samples and kits to an auv3 session like Koala etc? @FredAntonCorvest

    You can save the presets locally to AUM (with users samples as well) but if you move the AUM session file to another device it will be impossible to retrieve your users samples. I do not store the samples, I create secured links.

    I suggest you to save your user presets via FAC Drumkit, and if you plan to move to another devices follow the attached procedure

    It was the procedure for the migration but it's similar for export/import (check 1.2 in the graph). Export from the source device and import to the destination device. It will create a set of portable folders per user presets (containing a copy of the samples).

    Important: You have to use the standalone app, when you do the import on the new device you have to select the root folder yourself in the app (required to create the secured links).
