  • I'm curious, how many instances of proQ-2 can I run on an Air 2 ??? I may jump on that at the sale price.

  • Pro q is pretty nonintensive ...

    Nice, thanks!
So which ones would be CPU hungry?

Pro mb taxes the heck outta my iPad4

  • Heck, I'm going to end up owning it sooner or later!

    (Spits out bitten bullet.)

Quite so. Not at all certain why your loved ones require Christmas presents every year...

  • I already got pro-Q. what next?

    Pro Q2? I mean,look at the picture.It looks like it's born on a touch screen,how can you resist? ;)

  • I think Dan's voice single handedly sold me on these plugins. I upgraded to Auria Pro and really like the fabfilter synths. Then I bought Saturn and had a blast playing my guitar through it. I like that it's not trying to portray a facade of analog guitar gear at all. I think I'm going to have to buy all the other fabfilter plugins very soon. They sound great and they're very user friendly.

  • Fabfilter say Pro Q2 is more than twice as efficient, as Pro Q (v1) and uses less memory. Fullscreen retina graphics , EQ match via sidechain, Spectrum grab (eventually), improvements all round. $15 , £11 for the upgrade is a no-brainier. It's worth it for the efficiency aspects alone. And how often do FF have a sale...

This is exactly my story. I'm extremely happy with the Twin synth; it's now my general-purpose go-to. I also have strayed away from the amp simulators in favor of using Saturn with guitar.

Auria Pro + FabFilter support has me by and large only needing to open and work in one application, and that is a huge deal for me and productivity.

Plus, the tutorials are a blast to watch and listen to. It really only takes a couple of them since once you have the modulation concept and how it works you're good to go across the board.

    now what?

    Pro-C2 for a 'pro' plugin

Timeless 2 for a 'creative' plugin

  • Was Timeless priced at 9.99 at one time?

Is there any compression app on ipad that compares favorably to pro-C2 that I could route into auria?

Timeless 2 for a 'creative' plugin

    Same question.

Not really true on ipad though,Pro Q2 and C2 take slightly more CPU than the v1 versions. But really only"slightly"although this makes a difference when using a dozen upwards ProQ (which i always do).But who cares cause if i still can use both (v1+2)...

The closest thing to Timeless I can think of would I guess be Kuvert by Klevgr. It doesn't have L and R channel stereo delay but you can draw in your high/low pass filters/glitches/delay.
You set the tempo and it processes live audio over a lenth of 2-16 bars before repeating. It's not a traditional delay perse, but it's the closest thing to emulating Timeless. The only other option I can think of is VirSyn's TapDelay, which is on sale now. It does have an eq (no filter) on the delay and stereo/ping pong. I love both, but neither has the modulation capabilities of Timeless, which is the plain best effect for iOS.

As for the compressors, I honestly don't use them much as I record parts and send them off to people who are better at production, but I own AUFX:Push and Klevgr's multiband compressor. Neither is as robust or precise as the Pro-C. For single tracks, mostly guitar and analog synths, sometimes I pull out Korvpressor (also Klevgr) for a little extra definition, but it's just a simple (not in a bad way) 'squasher'.

I feel like a fan boy, but the quality of the FabFilters is just so much higher than anything else on iOS in my book.

    Hope that helps.

  • I didn't know about the FF tutorials...On YouTube?

  • So if I already have Tonestack and others, do I really need Timeless?

Fabfilter Timeless can do crazy stuff that no other app or plugin can really match, this is a taster:

Definitively : Yes. Even if I like TS a lot, I have to say that Timeless brings something that other apps don't. If you add Saturn, it's pure joy.

Full Joy even. And I agree, but let's not tell anyone else...

  • Saturn is indeed pure joy and, for this sale price, it's almost a steal. The alternative available in the Auria Store from PSP is a dumbed down version of VintageWarmer, while FabFilter offers the real thing, a full port - which by the way is superior to the original VintageWarmer 2 itself. It's a no-brainer!

  • Just when I got some cash saved for my sonic port vx, I come here and there it goes........

While I agree that Saturn is great, don't dismiss microwarmer so quickly, also a great plugin. I love it on the drum bus

  • The PSP version of MicroWarmer in Auria is a full port of the desktop plugin, not dumbed down in any way. MicroWarmer (and VintageWarmer) is as close to magic fairy dust for a channel/mix as you gonna get :)

  • edited December 2015

yep,i also like the Micro Warmer.I always put in the master strip but only a"tad"of it.Barely noticeabe, just for adding some"dirt" (or aditional harmonics or"warmth"...however you like to call it ;) ) But It doesnt sound that good if you just crank up all knobs. It`s not meant to deliver a supernoticeable change on the sound.

It IS fairy dust. Not quite certain what it's doing, but I always appreciate the result...reminds me of cinnamon or worcestershire sauce, you shouldn't be able to taste it in your stew or bolognese, but it adds grace notes that are essential to the overall dish.

  • You've made me both hungry and app-spendy in a single sentence. :#

  • OK. What's the point or value of Re-Tune? Is it just pretty much rubbish or is it me?
