Is there a source where get the iM1 presets list?
Anyone running iElectribe on iPhone5s?
Thanks.
Both the cards add over 2000 more presets. And also adds more waveforms to create your own sounds. In the physical m1 all the cards they add used to cost thousands of dollars. So getting them all for 12$ is a no brainier to me.
Thanks, @gonegrazy3000. I'm finally convinced.
Discarded iElectribe...I had enough with the iDS-10 experience (not an app fault, but iphone5S small screen). And having iPad version I prefer investing in other Gadgets.
Thank you. I think you're right. Money probably better spent on the new gadgets, actually. So if I can use the cheapskate's logic, I didn't spend $15 on the modular Korg, which means that's basically free money, $15 in the bank. So all I need to do as add an extra $15 and I can get THREE new gadgets. So Gladstone, Madrid and Kamata are now magically half off!
I'm so glad we had this talk.
All but if I REALLY had to choose one it'd actually be iDS-10.
Can anyone chime in on the full Module (now $19.99) versus Module for iPhone ($14.99)? The former is universal, so it seems like a better deal. Right now, my phone is the much faster one of my devices, but I just might be upgrading to an iPad Pro this year. (I joined the site in 2013 and literally have complained about my iPad2 holding me back from Day 1). Is there any functional/content difference between the two?
Module seemed a little niche to me, but the sale makes me reconsider, especially with the recent improvements to Gadget.
Now, if only I could get the damn Remote Install to work so I could get the iM1 Gadget into my iPhone. D'oh! I think iM1 is just spectacular - it's kind of like the PCM Gadget on absolute steroids. Frustrating that I haven't been able to get it to work on iPhone.
@StormJH1 I don't consider Module niche anymore. It is the most consistent thing I reach for when I'm looking for a basic yet quality approach. For the record I agree with you on iM1 also. Weirdly underrated or consigned to the 'cheese' shop, which I think is lazy logic for something a) so full of sound and b) editable/portable to Gadget. For all of that, my instinct FWIW is save your pennies and do an extra paper round/work down the fish market on Friday nights and get a Pro.
"Niche" was a bad choice of word. I think I thought that it was basically an assortment of acoustic and electric piano sounds when it first came out. It's clearly far more than that now. At the same time, a lot of those sounds are covered similarly with other apps I have, so perhaps I should hold off adding even MORE content, at least until I have a Pro to run it! Does look nice though - I never seem to regret giving Korg money on iOS.
Hi all, any of the im1 users could tell me how to customize the Chord button to make my own chords?
Thanks!
What's up with that IAP sale? iKaossilator doesn't have any IAP's
...as in I defiantly don't see additional libraries
@TGiG welcome to the disappointed ikaossilator fans club! We're a rowdy bunch. All kidding aside, I noticed that as well. My guess it is just a typo, my hope is that additional libraries or something is coming soon. It should read "the one additional library that we have put in 5 years is 33% discounted".
It does. It's got one IAP...... €1.99 for EDM
Anybody knows what extra delivers the PLUS Mode of IAP of iDS-10? Is it worth the extra $4,99 Can't find any info on it.
@mannix you get two more synth tracks and one more voice track.
Wow, what am I gonna do with 3,300 sounds? I'm not sure I have made it through all my Synthmaster ones yet......... I'm gonna need to take a work sabbatical.
Not to mention, those 3000 iM1 sounds used in Multi can send as 8 separate voices for sequencing in TNR
thx!
Personally find ielectribe the most intriguing of Korg products I don't already own. Don't really like xox style sequencing but do really like ielectribe' sounds. Tutorials on this board about how to sequence ielectribe with modstep are making the trigger finger itch. :-)
If anybody's interested, I did a discussion recently on iM1 and how it differs from the Darwin Gadget and the original M1. It's not just about the 3300 sounds.
https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/14266/how-im1-is-different-from-darwin-in-gadget-and-why-the-update-is-good-news#latest
Be aware that up to 8 programs can be combined to make one iM1 Combi patch. You can make very thick, layered sounds, with complex envelopes. The Combi patches are where iM1 comes alive.
Also remember that all the patches that come with iM1 are original M1/T1 patches and those synths didn't have resonant filters, like iM1 does. So if you are somebody who likes to adjust resonance/frequency, you will be making sounds that the M1 hardware could never have made.
When I bought it, it was about nostalgia, to get all my old M1 sounds again. And when I got Gadget it was nice to have Darwin. But as I study this I realize this is one of the most powerful iPad synths around.
Ha. The odds had to swing in my favor some day. The night before the sale I talked myself out of iM1 for the 50th time. For once I didn't buy something the day before it went on sale!
I finally picked it up on sale for absolutely no other reason than having Darwin constantly mock me as the only un-purchased Gadget in my collection. God I hate being a tool for Korg's superior marketing psych job.
Nah. A good choice.
Same here! I decided to wait for my pay day (today) to buy iM1. What a pleasant surprise it was to find it on sale! Then again, I'm now probably going to spend another €45 on the remaining Korg apps I don't yet own...
Your iM1 discussion pushed me over the edge to start primarily using Gadget as my music maker.
I had an M1 and I could always see well beyond the "cheese" factor. Being able to integrate iM1 into Gadget and with the latest Gadget updates I was hooked.
I expect to bounce between Gadget and Caustic (and maybe Beathawk) but I'm done with trying to make everything else play nice. I don't have the time.
That is some very cool info Reid! I don't understand R. fliters and 8 programs and combining them and so on. But I've wanted to get this since I saw it come out, but grabbed Gadget 1 st along with some others. Can't wait to give it a try! Will be checking out your thread as well
FWIW, I finally cracked and bought all 3 new Gadgets on the last day of the sale. Only had time to play with the Madrid (bass) so far, but definitely loving it. The tall keyboard with velocity adds a level of expression we haven't seen yet in other gadgets.
Yepp! That's one of the reasons I've been (over at the Korg forums) suggesting better 'keyboard/pads' for Gadget for that added expressivity
Yes tall expandable keys with velocity on all gadgets, full screen toggle
My 'suggestion' to Korg has been to optionally give all Gadgets the 'Big Keyboard' and 'Kaos-Pad' from iM1, iPolysix & iMS-20 with added Y-Axis velocity and for pads add Edge->Center velocity where edge is low velocity and center is maximum velocity with interpolation from edge to center. This and a way to set the default velocity for pads and keys at which notes are drawn would give Gadget added expression...
Remains to be seen if they listen or care
Very good suggestion. I can't ever tell if they give a crap about feature requests or they simply don't respond to them but file them all way quietly.
