Yeah me too - the automation s great, and really easy to use.
Doing good cheers fella
iMS-20 and iPolysix are still my most favourite analog synths for programming but they are my least used because of the lack of sync, and erratic IAA behaviour
I live in hope, and will keep my MS-20c ready and waiting for when iMS-20 does eventually get sync.
Have you got a hardware one? I've got a 30-odd year old MS20 on the filing cabinet next to me
The sync is a bit weird - I tried playing the iPolysix along with some other apps in AUM but the arp kept cutting out.
The sequencer's much easier to use in the iPolysix though, wish they'd update the iMS20 as the old style knob-twiddling version they use on that isn't as user friendly. I'd use the iMS20 a lot more if it had a nice sequencer.
Monzo!!!!!!!!!!!! (Pro)
Good to have you back!
Cheers matey
Not a real ms20 unfortunately, but the USB controller from the legacy collection. Raeally makes the synth in ims20 a dream to use. Hands on control, without having to mentally map a row on anonymous controls to a virtual synth.
Have to agree on the sequencer side, ipolysix is much easier to use, but both sound awesome.
Both iMS-20 and iPolysix are nice but could use an update.
Personally I'd love to have the 'Gadget-Sequencer' in both of them
Yeah, the button style UI iPolysix sequencer is a bit distracting to use. Such a lovely sound though.
The automation in iPolysix is quite nice (long press any parameter to bring up a window).
And it's perfect 'loop maker' too with the export function...
I found the pop-up a bit annoying actually - sometimes pops up when I don't want it to, but yeah the automation's incorporated really nicely, and I've been exporting little sequences and loops. The simple drum sequencer is useful too.
It's still better than 'nothing'
I sometimes wonder if it's two separate 'teams' at Korg who made (iMS-20, iPolySix and iElectribe) and those who made (Gadget, iM1 and Module). Imagine also having the iMS-20/iPolysix keyboard&kaos-pad in Gadget
I think they should have a works outing to the pub and compare notes! Yeah, a Darwin style iPolysix or iMS20 Gadget with Kaos pads would be absolutely wonderful....fingers crossed...
I hope so!
Another wish is to add 'velocity' to the onscreen keys/pads in Gadget and iM1. Module has this already, and the Madrid Gadget. This would add a whole new layer of expressiveness without having to attach an external keyboard
Stumped upon this nice jazzy jam. Demonstrating a selection of gadgets
Nice 'proof' that Gadget is not only suitable for EDM
Dude's got some skills that's for sure...
The other 'non-gadget' Jam is also top-notch!
A performance gadget would be cool, rather than adding large keys, xy pads etc to existing gadgets, have a gadget that is a controller and can be mapped to single or multiple gadgets at the same time
Is there a way to get rid of that 3D keyboard in Module on the iPad and just have flat keys? I can do it on the iPhone, but not the iPad.
As far as I know there is no way at the moment
Thanks guys... Bought! And loving it. Just got an iPhone 5s and I'm making beats on the go! Gadget is awesome!
I actually prefer the iMS20 sequencer, simply because it offers per-note modulation of the PWM.
Triffic.
OT: Welcome back, my man!
Thank you Jeff
It's authentic - a bit like the old Korg hardware sequencer, I just find the knobs a bit fiddly. I'm going to have a good old play with the iMS20 and iPolysix over the weekend though, they both deserve more of my attention than they've been getting.
I found this site helpful for learning modular for the MS-20 mini: http://20patch.constructingtowers.com/patch. Side note, I'm selling my MS-20 mini shortly, if anyone is interested, drop me a note.
