It's funny. I get quite excited when new features appear for Blocs Wave![:p :p](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/tongue.png)

Nooooooooo ! Why (oh why) not the real slip-wrap (or slip-roll) option that I was dreaming about ?
But I guess you had good reasons (and other people expectations probably) to go this way (the header)... It is not what I desperatly hoped for resynching my loops, but it's already a great step (I hope).
Please (oh god please), tell me that it will be possible to flatten a loop after setting a new start point and that it will result in a new resynched loop if needed ? If this is the case, I don't find your approch the most intuitive for me, but it would work...
EDIT : What I mean... What I really hope is that (trying to make my expectations clearer as I'm not native english speaking)
What I mean is that :
Original Loop = 'AEIOUY'
I put the header of the loop between E and I, I flatten and it makes a new sample loop file =
New Loop (file) = 'IOUYAE'
Will that be possible ? I would be awesome to resynch loops with each others ;-)
I have an inkling why they have taken this approach. I may be wrong.
If I'm understanding this correct, this new feature is completely separate from the slip and slice features. This would mean that no projects would change, as they are not changing the basic rules used by those features. Maybe a compromise in some situations, but probably the wisest approach as it is not destructive of any features already used.
Nice future up date. We all have time to think about how we are going to use it before it comes out. You guys are PR monsters. Great work.
I would like to suggest something. When playing the slices with the velocity mode enabled the slice is triggered with the volume/velocity of the initial touch, the volume depends on how high up the key you press. Would it be possible to vary the volume while the slice is playing by keeping the key pressed and moving your finger up or down? My main requirement is to fade in/out a section that has no silence but it could be used for tremelo also.
If we could move the start points/markers in slice mode that would make the app pretty indispensable for me, that way I could set areas in a (for example) sound effect wave, and trigger them live. Very often my samples don't fit in the standard grid format.
Still a five star app though and the updates are very appreciated.
If I have a loop set as in the picture, and I drag the loop left or right, will the start point also move in relation to the loop markers or will it stay put in relation to the underlying sample ?
Dad, you're ruining Christmas.
I think so!
In relation to the loop markers.
You guys are really inhabiting this vacuum. Don't stop!
I was just thinking about starting a thread called "Where Is the 1?" I tend to get swept up in the randomization of an app like Seek Beats, and then I drop in an Animoog line or a sample, and then I record it only to realize I've been hearing the beat completely backward.
This new start point in a loop effectively solves this problem. And it seems that it also does away with the need to trim the audio too.
Can't wait.
I bought this app simply so I can follow the drama as new features roll out.
Actually, after this reading this thread, we tweaked the start marker workflow a little, and think we've managed to keep everyone happy. We'll hopefully get it out within a week, but It might have to come after our big Launchpad for iPhone release this Thursday ;-)
You know us, we can wait patiently![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)

@blocsxnovation would it be possible to have the OPTION of non quantized slips and markers? Sometimes you just want to loop in specific places but can't the wave to line up exactly.
This happens to me all the time, in lots of apps - I'll be lost in a fug of beat making, only to find the logical start of the loop is halfway through what I'm doing.

Ahhh, that looks super nice, should do the trick!
And while I have you...![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
FEATURE REQUEST: Flatten X2, Flatten /2 - This would be the regular Flatten option but with a second pass with completely linear interpolation (some call it resampling or 'tape style') that either doubles or halves the length of the resulting pad (with no anti-aliasing or smoothing). Thus, X2 would flatten the pad to half the length and an octave higher, /2 would flatten it to twice the length and an octave lower. Doubling and halving samples is huge and gives a lot of mileage. Would be amazing to be able to do this right in Blocs Wave.
Yup. Especially (for me) with melodies...
For a moment there i thought we finally had moveable slice points
Hi blocsxnovation, it would be nice if we could motion sequence that start marker with the option to quantize the motions or leave them un-quantized.
regards
Then I'll be completly happy... I hope that what you think comes true ;-)
(else I'll be back to square 1 sniff)
Yah, can't see why it wouldn't flatten into place... otherwise that would be like a bug.
Hmmm, feels like that could come after (and would of course be awesome) but would likely need to be built upon a solid functioning movable zero point first.
I'm confused X2. Is this a thing?
This would be better done by having a playback speed of X2 - /2 selectable for the pad. Flatten is 'Give me a processed copy of what I'm hearing' so it should not change the sound when being used.
Octave up and Octave down should also be settings for the pad for the same reason.
These would be nice to have
There are always better ways of course but I am suggesting a non-realtime aproach as to not tax system resouces or require reworking of the audio engine. I tend to pitch low hanging fruit. If someone wants to deliver beyond that great, but I start with minimum viable features first.
EDIT:,also, introducing seperate realtime speed and octave settings would introduce antialising smoothing/artifacts which is exactly what I want to avoid.
No, just a little feature I wish was there.
