  • Guys. i have a question. The original implementation of AU-X support in Cubasis did not support automation for
AU-X. has this changed since 1.9.8 ? cannot seem to find an answer online......
also. @brambos did they implement your request regarding the auto-off being disabled so that you can sound design in the ruismaker interface ?
if the answers to both is yes i think I'm finally buying Cubasis and deleting Auria-Pro for now.

My store review updated. Cubasis 2 is now much better for the initial song writing. While Auria Pro will still be my mixer of choice, Cubasis is just nicer to record in with its smooth and simple interface.

Really think the Cubasis team have made some good design decisions here :)

They sure did. It keeps the AU active as long as its UI is visible.

while i still have you here. Are AU parameters automatable now ? please say yes D=

I'm at work so can't try this till later. Anyone got feedback on note editing yet?

Congrats to the Cubasis team, this is going to make many people very happy! Great tutorial video too.

  • Bloody brilliant is all I gotta say. And I'm from bloody Canada ok!

  • Thank you very much, Team Cubasis

    Great news.Thanks, Steinberg.

How does it perform on iPad4? Cubasis v1.x works smoothly.

    I can read this:

    "Polyphony:
48 voices: iPad 2, iPad mini
128 voices: iPad 3, iPad 4, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, iPad Air, iPad Air 2, iPad Pro

Audio Unit extension requires iPad Mini 2, iPad 4 or newer model."

Edited: I don't need it, but I'm going to buy the FX Pack 2 for supporting.

  • Nice job guys, the interface is so much more zippy now, and the zooming is much more predictable, feels like a totally new product, can't wait to give the channel strip and Spin FX a go tonight when I get home from work.

I applaud you for giving us all of this, managing to keep the surprises quiet, and giving it all to us for free :)

    Thank you

P.S. Now that you got this out, I guess you have nothing left to do :D....What's next ?

  • Two questions. 1) With reference to time shifting, if I set it as described above in this thread, that's it applied, yes? 2) Is there a way to stop the left and right markers from snapping to a piece of audio?

  • Has cubasis Link Support?

    Improvements & Fixes

CB-3127 Freezing an AU track that contains Moog Model 15 now leads to expected results.

Should this read IAA track? Or is something being foreshadowed here? :)

Any more details on this? I'm trying to compare the images on the App Store with images of 1.9 and the changes aren't jumping out at me.

Mostly a flatter (less 3D) aesthetic.

I think they were not just referring to the looks, but also to things like more accurate zooming and panning and scrolling, and note editing, etc. (e.g. in the piano rolls). IIRC that was one of the most frequent criticisms on Cubasis 1.x.

Thanks for the great update! Is there a chance that Cubasis will get support (optimizations) for the higher screen-resolution of the 12.9" iPad Pro in the future?

    This.

  • Finally!

New UI is great - I can see which track is selected a lot easier

    Zooming works as expected

Clips and events are more obviously highlighted

Stretch and pitch shifting work perfectly; it feels like desktop level tbh

Freezing AU plugins results in perfectly aligned files. IAA/AB however still seems a bit out; gotta test some more

The channel strip is great; again very reminiscent of the channel strip in 8.5.

Auto quantise, finally!! I would still have liked to see an auto merge option for overdubs. Currently AQ works fine so long as you keep recording. If you stop and then overdub it reverts to the old behaviour (select, glue, quantise)

But overall, amazing update. I'd highly recommend this to anyone. Now I just gotta hope that more devs will support the AU standard, because then this really could be a legitimate second DAW for me!

Not yet?. Haven't checked the update myself but was expecting for this. simply adjusting the resolution would be fine.

does cubasis have destructive or non-destructive audio editing?
and does it have audio import via the iTunes music library?

  • I was amused though at the description of the new Tape instruments, it's like you aren't allowed to say the words Mello**** and The B***les!

It runs perfectly fine on my 12,9" iPad Pro, but does not make use of the higher resolution. Would be very nice for having finer grid-settings which would make trouble with a normal-sized iPad. Particularly with the Apple Pencil it would be a dream-team.

Ah true...yes I'm seeing significant improvements in these areas

Which AU did you test with? I want to test this extensively later today, will be great if it has been rectified.

  • Might sound a silly question but what is a channel strip, how is it best used and how is it different from the individual effects?

  • I have to study for an exam this morning...how can I possibly do this with Cubasis 2 blinking her lovely eyes at me on this iPad??
