yep he even provides his template I believe
anybody beta testing the new circuit update, is the panning per track or per step basis... hopefully both, and does it have swing per track and step?
What update?
? Having just put the money down on the Christmas barrel head I'd love to hear of anything else/new....
hypothetically speaking, if there was I'm wondering if panning made it in
also if there's an universal iOS editor on the horizon so we're not tied to the peecee?
Fwiw Johnny I just got one and it is luuuuverly. Very immediate, great depth if u have the time (i dont), but not regretting it so far.
Good. Thanks for your take. I was staring at the 'buy' page this morning and found myself wondering 'hang on, can't I do all of this sat on my couch on the iPad already' but the possibility of a more direct creative stimulus (look at me) fogged up the rest of whinging brain long enough for me to hit the button
I also have a sneaking suspicion that the 14 year old might get seduced in and it'll be more than worth it if he does.
Could someone, anyone, explain how to program a correct reggae drop rhythm on a circuit?
Play it and record it ?
Once you have recorded something that is close then mess with the swing value...you may need to move some of the hats back or forward to get them in the right place for swing to move them..
It is not easy, and I have been trying since I got my circuit, and I think I managed it once, but then accidentally iverwrote the session and lost it
I did put a request in to have an option to have it run at half midi clock speed so you can do the trick that Doug Woods explained for iSpark I think it was. This works if you are staying inside Circuit but no good if you are syncing to anything.
I do have some programmed that are fairly convincing, but I haven't got it quite right.
I continue in my quest.
It is old, but it is a classic IMO. itis for the DM1. Can't find out how to link it from utube but here's a link via discchord:

Cheers, that's the one
Aha, thanks. Useful.
....and the captions get quite amusing at 5:05 in that^ video
It never ceases to amaze me the ingenuity and way that people get around limitations
Cheers for this
Going to be a noisy Christmas....the Santadude's bringing one of these for the kid and a Launchpad Mini to annoy me. Suspect we may end up swapping our toys....as long as both of them don't end up under the bed by Boxing Day.
You need them both plugged into the same ipad
Hmmm. Confused already
His Nibs does have his own, so I kind of saw us in our separate man caves, but maybe you have an idea there...
If you get the MIDI Sync output IAP fo rthe LP app, you can plug them both in and jam together
You could also do this with MIDI LInk Sync and Link but the former is far easier to set up.
Thanks for the tip. Unusual feeling these years: Can't hardly wait for Christmas...
Cool, it's nice when that happens, we all too often and easily get caught up in the prep and worrying about others to actually enjoy christmas.
@blocsxnovation My Xmas wishlist... Evolution of circuit 12 days of Xmas version... with circuit components for iPad available on Xmas, one can dream right?
hehehe, otherwise us iPad/Circuit owners are left feeling like Tiny Tim, looking in from the cold at all the PC users all happy and warm indoors
.....
Is our ploy working ?
This fella has a bunch of live Circuit videos up where he utilizes an external keyboard to add live note playing and a Launch Control XL for mixing/effects sends. He makes quick use of pattern chaining in some of them as well.
Digging this little 80s melodic sweetness.

14 circuit videos in all. Playlist link.
Wish all boxes like this had USB host support these days. It's a stand alone setup but he has to use ableton on a computer to route the MIDI.
sweet find, hope novation is listening to you as well cause usb hosting would be sweet
This and Synth Editor, plus release the sacred sysex implementation?
Thanks for posting this.
You don't need host for normal midi connection, CALC also uses a USB host box with his launchcontrolxl meaning you don't need a computer, also iPad/iPhone can act as host.
@AndyPlankton yeah, was more wishing out loud. I have an iCM4A+ which will do the hosting. In a world where the number of USB-MIDI only controllers as well as stand-alone hardware soundmakers are both growing, I'd really like to see the number of things that host go up as well. Maybe it's just me but one of the most interesting aspects of the soon to be released MPC is that it acts as a host.
