I don't think it will last, I might give myself a dose of Audulus later to see if it makes me feel more like my old self.

I have looked at Audulus many times but never considered that it gave me much more than S_____ox and it doesn't have the feature I find essential, a timeline. Your usage may vary because you like to play and tweak everything on the fly. But then doesn't the Model 15 give you most of that?

Don't, I'm sure something might tempt us, maybe some of the KlevGrand apps, love their simplicity.

I don't really get on with S____x. I'm looking for something that can create really weird, long evolving sound/dronescapes and I've seen a few vids where Audulus does this. I'm hoping it has a few decent presets that I can start off with, tweak a bit, and then leave it to itself while I mash up the output with a load of fx.

Not sure how long it's on sale for, I'll probably miss it like last time.

I do recommend Audulus but it's one of those ones I open, have a play with some of the projects and then close. I haven't built anything myself yet. I've not got the patience for it so far. But over the years I will always come back to it and it is possible just to use it playing with the community patches. And it does look and sound great. There are definitely some good drone patches in there somewhere.

Sadly, I've found that statement and my experiences to differ. Those who choose such behaviours must have directed them towards people other than you, I guess.

I wish my experiences were more like yours. Oh well. I am glad for you though.

Long may your past experiences here continue for you from now on!

    [toasts with raised glass]

Well Dec, I was saying that in reference to ageism, from either POV. On this forum, in my experience, I haven't seen older members openly shit on younger members, or vice versa, based on seniority, age or experience. I was referring to that particular dynamic.

Am I saying I've never seen someone act dicky, sarcastic, condescending, or even obnoxious. No, because I've seen all that here..but damn sure in a lot less quantity than some other forums dealing with music (looking at you Les Paul Forum).

We musicians are sensitive types anyways. I know that for myself. I see it like this, even if it's uncomfortable, if someone gives you some heat, send them a receipt.

  • i feel like an a adult now because i finally bought korg gadget. also bought phasemaker and ivs3. i pretty much already owned every launchpad and blocs pack but i bought a few launchpad ones and i think a retronyms one.

audioshare crashes immediately on my ipad pro now, though. i had to delete it.

    Analogue tech

Thanks. I'm about 1/4 through auditioning all of the packs on Soundcloud. Analogue tech is one I like.

Does anyone know if there is information available about how many loops/samples there are in the various soundpacks?

I've bought Roots Manuvre and Machine Gun, because...

Also I got Surefire Trap and Future LoF both of which I think are surprising good. Also 'wide boy garage'.

Terrible names, but some of the sounds are good. Depends what you like though.

Mainly I use them to quickly compose a piece of music to go with a video showreel or similar. The advantage being it is already perfectly 'produced' and sounds pro. But you can dictate the length and the highs and lows to suit the video sequence. I take all the clips out and lay them out in Auria with the video plug in.

I don't use them in my own tracks really.

I think you get something like 64 loops in a pack. Or maybe 48.

  • My list this time around is

    RP-1
    RF-1
    SoundScaper/FieldScaper bundle
    Amazing Noises Limiter
    ApeFilter
    Animoog for iPhone
    ZMH-1
    Rotor
    AD4080 Basic
    Howl
    Jussi
    Enkl
    Korvpressor
    STROM
    TweakyBeat

    Launchpad iaps
    Audio import
    Delay FX
    Essential Edm free
    Acid redux free
    Formant Cell- Gracefall free
    Glitchstep free

    Blockswave sound packs
    Drum booster Vol 1 free
    Dusk dynamics free
    Chiptune free
    Boss funk
    Motown
    Dub session

    I haven't finished yet!

  • Not that it helps much but one difference between enkl and isem (beyond the obvious mono vs poly): enkl has proper ADSR envelopes. iSem (because of the actual SEM) has a slightly more restrictive (although you'd rarely notice it) ADS whereby the decay knob also sets the sustain. iSem, however, has a very comprehensive modulation matrix (which is after all what the Oberheim approach came to be 'all about' as a superior alternative to patch cables (this has advantages - less cables visible, and disadvantages - less visibility of patching)).

  • my iphone 7 is far more powerful than my ipad 4 so I guess i have to be one of those iphone guys now? i can finally experience moog model 15, and Odyssei, and other 64-bit wonders, although I should have sprung for the bigger screen on the Plus.

i was about to spend $40 on that belkin adaptor so i can charge and use headphones simultaneously but instead i just spit on the apple logo so gloriously visible through the logo-exposing hole in my phone case.

I'll have another look at SV, I confess to being a bit scared of it, possibly down to the UI - Audulus looks a bit friendlier.

I like the track you posted. Definitely the sort of thing I'd be looking to do with it. With all that's going on around me at the moment it'd be nice to be lost in space for a few hours.

oh Audulus definitely does more than sunvox. At least it goes deeper into the base level of creation. It can also be a great learning tool (like model 15 i mentioned earlier somewhere).
Apparently there are some hardware module manufacturers that use audulus to test and prototype their designs. This is not something you would do in sunvox for example.
It is a bit more complicated than most too as you need to have the right components and connect them all correctly to accomplish your sound.
At the same time if you are up for it, it can be great fun for a beginner like I was....and still very much am. And the number of patches and modules continues to grow every week.
It is definitely a special app on iOS.

Thought the other/first was v. disappointing (to me), but was somehow bullied into getting ROTOR and it has good things about it. Not required just because there's a sale on, but interesting to keep an eye on for mangling jam-it-out bastards such as your goodself...

Hmmm...ok chief I'll check out some vids - what are the main differences between the two?

  • ha,... even though i have overspent i finally decided on getting it and saw the new price. guess i will wait.

  • TC Data is awesome....just spent a few pre dawn hours controlling gadget with it and am very impressed...a fair bit to get my head around but it helps having owned TC 11 for a while as the structure is very similar..can't work out whether the transpose scale selection is universal or per patch..it seems to stay at what I set it at when I change patches but that seems to be overridden by the Midi note selection on each patch..does anyone know ?

  • I also bought DM2, SilQ, AUFX Space, Enkl, iPulsaret so plenty of new toys to play with.
Now to get down to making some music...
