The MIDI clock in particular was a pain to get stable. But I've got a pretty solid sync now.

Still missing key/scale selection for the random mutation, that would take this thing right over the edge.

It picks a random note from the same sequence so it will always be in the same scale as the rest of the pattern.

Well in that case MASSIVE BIG THANK YOU for sticking with it to get it right.....It will be so easy for me to run it alongside Circuit now :)

So random is more mutate then, not random in the usual sense ?

Random still fully randomizes the pattern as before.
In the new Mutation Probability function it picks a random note from the current pattern.

That's going to be a fine combo! :p

  • Update is looking good! Is it possible to have an option for saving a 64bar (or longer) pattern to midi when mutate is enabled?

Why doesn't it save the synth parameters in the presets?

So you can load patterns without changing the current sound settings. That's how most bassline synths work.

that makes sense. but ability to save synth patch would also make sense, don't you think? for example if I want to get a nice bass line into cubsasis, I can export the midi pattern but will then have to recreate the synth sound knob by knob in the auv3?

    • changing the notes is a little hard to see under the finger.

Move your finger to the side and then slide up and down.

I don't have any problem with the interface, even on my phone.

Ok thanks, I didn't know that!

No problem! Seems like some apps do that and some don't. Makes a lot of sense for it to work that way.

  • Having an iPad 3 and watching this thread, @ 24 seconds...

  • Troublemaker sequencer on Phasemaker would be nice also

    WANT TO SEE/HEAR DOCTOR.

I'll definitely put something up once the update comes out.....still not really got a way of doing video, maybe I can rig something up with my android phone now that I have a mixer for the audio
In the mean time, this was Funk Drummer, Troublemaker and blocs wave recorded live in AUM, just messing with the setup and haven't got controllers rigged up properly so no movement in the drums or troublemaker......longer patterns would be super useful.

Lovers Rock Rap if'n I was Jamaican....

@brambos Feature request. When activating a note or tapping it to accent it i almost always slide the note up or down. Which i then have to slide back. A button that locks the notes would be great. Then i can quickly tap note on or accent with less hyper precision. Like the cubasis piano roll locks.

This is my only issue with this app so far. Otherwise, I love it. Maybe a long-press required to move the notes?

Exactly what I was aiming for :D Nah I just threw together some random stuff while trying to figure out what to try and use controllers with and what to use on screen.... and this is what came out

I don't find this to be an issue at all. Even on my phone. A long press would surely slow the flow? ;)

    Looks great Bram!
    Love this wee beastie...
It sounds beautiful, is intuitive to use, I've had hours of fun jamming/recording with this... it is instantly addictive for an old acid head like me!
    Thanks

I'm surprised it isn't an issue. It is really sensitive and I find myself constantly afraid to touch the note button during any live recording. I guess a lock or long press might slow the flow if you scroll through notes in a hurry ina live setting. Seems like just playing Troublemaker with a midi keyboard would be better for that.

  • I like this app. Sounds great, and the interface works nice. Mutating should be another cool addition. I'd also like to be able to save sound settings for recall, separate from the pattern.

  • Nice update already. Insane!

Don't own the synth, but I think you should be able to control Troublemaker directly from Cubasis via MIDI, right ? So you don't need to export the midi pattern, and record it directly from you're DAW.

Can you save your own patterns ? It should recall the sound settings at the same time...

  • @brambos, can you change it so the sequencer keeps running when the 'save' button is pressed. That's my only issue, is the sound stopping every time I find a funky pattern and have to save it.. thanks
