  • OMG @brambos you did it again... :D
I have my TB-3 running with your app at the same time, and man, this is crazy good...
Just 3 things, if I may ask :
1.Could it be possible to have also a start/stop responding to IAA (selectable or not ?) while running with Link ?
I'd like that because I have my midi sequence running with Modstep, but I'd like to make some acid break sometimes, live, with just Troublemakers.
2.Could the transpose buttons could be midi controlable ? (all buttons on the left in fact...)
3.Could patterns may be loadable thru midi ?

Then it could be the ultimate non 303 to me...

    Many thanks !

@brambos Troublemaker is exceptionally fun and so instantly rewarding to use.<

Yeah, my thought too. Brambos, almost single-handedly, has turned my ambivalence toward electronic sounds to enthusiasm. Doubt my messing around will appear much in my main compositions, but it's seriously good fun playing with these apps.

I like this app. Sounds great, and the interface works nice. Mutating should be another cool addition. I'd also like to be able to save sound settings for recall, separate from the pattern.

Can you save your own patterns ? It should recall the sound settings at the same time...

You can save patterns, but not patches. A 303 feature, apparently.

I get around the lack of song mode by saving a few sequences and then loading them up while playing.

    Top app though.

    +1

  • Can we have midi out to Drive external Gear?

  • @brambos I can save setting presets in Troublemaker AU for AUM, but they don't show up in IAA Troublemaker. Could you add IAA host sync so IAA hosts can control transport and tempo in IAA Troublemaker? I agree with other people who would like to be able to save control setting presets which would be distinct from sequence presets. It would also be nice to have buttons in IAA Troublemaker to switch back to the IAA host app.

The new mutate feature is very nice so it would be nice to have MIDI out as well.

  • Damn... missed it...

Everything controlable by midi (learn) is welcome.

  • It is definitely cause some trouble >:)

Actually I think midiSTEPs from Art Kerns would do pretty much that; a mini AU host where you can record MIDI keys in sequence and add accents and ties.

Yeah, midiSTEPs is nice but it's a bit tedious when multiple keys per step is needed.(Ruismaker/Rusimaker FM etc.). But for bass, arps and melody-lines it's very good.

Hope midiSTEPs gets Link some day too.

Ooh, a "bounce to pattern" feature in midiSteps would be sweet. Select two or more patterns and they'd be combined into a new one. Copy once and paste multiple mode would help with polyphonic tracks too. Copy a step and tap in multiple places to quickly replicate it.

    Still with us Reverend @artkerns?

  • This was my first outing with it

Super duper pretty please. And not via CC but plain old note number.

  • The mutation is brilliant

  • I like This Thing a lot. Had a happy hour burbling away, but you know how it is: More have/more want. Longing for chaining together patterns, to be able to hear the connections/collisions and then edit as required...

i second this. also. @brambos can we lock the sequencer to a scale ? would help noobs like me a ton.

Reminds me of Bobby Bland's 'Ain't No Love In The Heart Of The City' , which I love. Good work, Andy. Is the similarity intentional or inspirational?

  • Good to hear that the MIDI sync works well for you. That wasn't trivial to get stable as iOS is not a particularly realtime-friendly operating system. So I had to pull some tricks :-)

Peepz, if you're enjoying the app you could help me tremendously by leaving a review in the appstore. Cheers!

  • This app looks great, especially the little sequencer.
I saw a few videos but it is unclear for me if i can use custom shapes for each step. So can i drag the curve between notes and change the concave f.e.
Indeed, i would pay for such a sequencer as midi FX. Has it midi out?

  • @Cib said:

No, it mimics the behavior of actual analog components, so the shape is always the typical exponential-ish fixed-time curve of the 303's slide circuit.

Thank´s......so if you need idea for a new app.....a brambos sequencer would be great ;)
However, all your apps looks very good and sounds good.
A brambos bundle would be great too.

  • Yes. Please make an au host sequencer for the drum apps

    Thanks! Appreciated!

  • I think it would be nice if you could have a number of buttons for changing/storing patterns(and you could switch between them mid loop without loop starting from beginning). Maybe instead of having a button for loading patterns, you would have like 5 buttons that you could load saved patterns on and switch between the loaded patterns in real time. I think you could group the midi, link and uploads under one menu button.

  • A file exported from TM to AudioShare shows up as a CAF file in AS. I have to convert it to .wav before importing into FLMS. Anybody else see this? Why does AS show it as CAF @brambos ?

That's an iOS quirk. If you export an iOS audiostream as WAV it won't open in anything. You confusingly have to set the filetype in iOS to CAF or it won't be recognized as an audio file. I guess FLMS didn't get the memo (which is not suprising considering the atrocious documentation of Apple's audio APIs).

Interestingly all apps on iOS & MacOS I've tried correctly recognize the files as WAV files, so it's something that FLSM needs to change.

Why do all other exports to AS show up as .wav and only TM exports show as CAF in AS? All the Vatanator exports in the AS list show as WAV in AS and import fine into FLMS.

I don't know. They are in fact bog standard WAV files.
