Looks great! It's screaming "RELEASE ME! NOW!!!"
No and you never could... Many of us tried and got a dry negative answer... It's for VIB (Very Important Betatesters) only !
PS : Beatmaker makes me think of these art pieces that you love even when you dislike the artist who made it...
PS2 : I'm gonna get flamed again for saying what I think lol
how about gamma testing?
I feel like I've been fooled for the second time by INTUA with this weeks "official announcement" so... shame on me![:/ :/](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/confused.png)
I didn't even apply...(Really don't line NDAs).![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I put my trust in the collective knowledge we have here in the forum
(And well, since the developer(s) scan these forums from time to time those ideas that are worth implementing in their opinion will most likely make it anyway so...).
PS: I forgot to add: it has a hell lot of cowbell @mathieugarcia !!!!
It's like really crazy, I'm already 'seeing' myself creating instruments in BM3 even if it's not even yet available.
Load a single cycle looped saw wave.
Duplicate the layer, invert the duplicated wave and add slight detune.
Voila, pseudo pulse-width modulation
(This is how I fake PWM in Renoise).
@firejan82 @ElGregoLoco @Samu : Unfortunately, we could not get as much people as we wanted for beta-testing (which was pretty much alpha testing at first !). Mainly because it takes time to carefully go through all the feedback, crash reports, suggestions, etc. I'm sorry you felt this way really, but I hope you understand our position as well !
@alecsbuga Haha, thanks !
@Samu : Interesting indeed ! I cannot wait to see what you guys will create out of BM3. I'm still amazed of what people have achieved with BM2, so with the new features we're adding, I guess this will be a pretty crazy ride!
Nice! I remember those commercials haha
@Samu You forgot adding automation for detune![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
@mathieugarcia simply WOW![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I guess the sampler module is going to be bananas !!!![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
And probably work in progress since it's not in those screenshots
Looks great so far. I hope it also will have some better keyboard for multi-touch performance ala` Animoog, Noise, or smart instruments like things (you know from which DAW) etc. because these are the things which i miss the most in iOS DAW´s.
The macros and many X/Y looks promising. The GUI in general looks great so far. I hope also for easy full screen and hide feature of performence tools like the virtual keyboard.
Sorry, i´m not too euphoric anymore before it is proved to be worth the loooooong wait.
Most interested in the sampler instrument and if it could use EXS 24 format as well?!?
In order for the phase-invert PWM trick to work the layers need be in sample accurate sync.
To avoid duplicate samples a simple phase-invert for the second(detuned) layer would be enough.
I know this is 'geeky' stuff but I somehow feel BM3 will deliver in that department too![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
As long as it comes in at under $4.99 I guess I'll probably buy it.
Mathieugarcia
Looks great! Thank you.
I use BeatMaker 2 live to play samples - frankly, it is the best-on-iOS, and I think I've bought and tried all.
Quick Request:
Could you guys please consider an option allowing LARGER FONTS for the sample pads?
On stage, with my old eyes, it is hard to read the fonts - if they could be REALLY BIG (an option, not default), it would definitely help people like me to find the right sound/pad, when I am using the sampler to trigger random bits of movie and TV dialogue, live, in a reggae/dub band context.
(At the moment, I have to memorize all of the positions, and it can get hard, and sometimes embarrassing, with all the different options. Wow, if you read that last line back with a naughty voice in your head, it takes on a whole other meaning).
Thx.
Roy
lol ,I don't think so , but I hope for a reduced price on launch . It would be fair for the old BM2 users and the very very very very long time waiting ...
Am I the only one who would like to use BM3 like a traditional DAW- produce the beat, record vocals, instruments, use AU plugins as instruments or effects and mix?
@mathieugarcia how close are we to that?
You're not alone! There are at least two us lol!
So is this the announced announcement?
That you are in need of more alpha/betatesters?
Make that three, because, um, iPhone!
Probably many more than just three...I have done more of my stuff on BM2 as DAW than on any other of my DAWs including AP, MTS, Cubasis...
Same here, it's one deep beast. BM2 has been able to clock sync with so many app for so long and now it has Ableton Link. The keyboard sampler is exceptional, the best on iOS. Load single cycle waveforms into the sampler go to town. Multizone and layer as many times as your CPU can handle.
My interpretation of what @mathieugarcia wrote was that it took a lot of resources to evaluate the feedback from the alpha/beta testers so therefore they had to limit the number of testers they had to match Intua's resource constraints. My conclusion was they don't currently need or have the ability to add more app testers.
Just like Intua's 'Russian-Doll' file system.![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
Looks a lot like imaschine2. Which is fine. It looks better too as expected so happy I chose to wait.
Yeah, like iMaschine2 on steroids! imaschine2=4-tracks, BM3-4-Gazillion:)
Another questions that will popped into mind was...
Up-on import, will it be possible to select which (Left, Right, Stereo or MonoMix) channel(s) to import?
(Those of us who've got some sample CDs from say E-Lab will know that they 'split' different samples and variations on Left and Right channels on their CDs to maximise time (ex. Left-Channel is 'Wet/Loop/Main' Right is 'Dry/Variation/SInglehits').
If this is not available on import I hope there is a way to discard either channel, merge two samples to either mono-mix or 'left & right channels', and an option 'split/copy' a mono-sample to left & right if needed. And naturally option to process Left and Right channel individually.(ex. do phase-invert of one of the channels).
Needless to say the more I get to know about BM3 the more nerdy questions and ideas will pop into my mind, that's the way I roll...![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I would be very interested if BM3 will have some midi FX like a versatile arp, chorder, modulation etc.
announcement?
My new big thing is to ignore announcements about announcements.
