  • Please, @mathieugarcia, could you tell us system/hardware requirements?

    Thanks.

    Thanks.

Probably iOS 9.2 minimum -- newer generations iPads/iPhones are best while not mandatory.

  • Great stuff Mathieu, not long to go, meantime happily still using bm2

@mathieugarcia Just curious. Is this a free update for Beatmaker 2 owners?

  • Take my money!

Only thing I'm puzzled about is... Do we really need to layer sampler and AUv3 on the same pad??? ;)

It's pretty neat with resampling :hint: :hint: :)

Got it, resampling an AUv3 into an empty sample-slot :)

i would be surprised! but maybe a discount (50%?) off discount for BM2 owners...?

  • I love the way it looks. The colors are pretty. :)

  • There wasnt any discount from BM1 doubt there will be one this time round, it's virtually a new app

Always unclear if that will be the case for next big update. My experience is that ther's totally no logic in big updates. Cubase (iOS) for example made huge developmenst, but updates always were free.
Somehow I got the feeling that this app will be expensive (but maybe I'm wrong), so a discount for BM2 would be clever a clever step.

  • Hopefully the AU support will include listening to AU parameter changes, for automation recording. Use the Troublemaker app to test this thoroughly!

  • Finally a ableton live for ios! Great!
Since BM3 is coming to mac, I presume the chances to see Ableton Live Export integration is pretty low, unfortunately.

  • I probably missed it somewhere, but any info on connectivity like Ableton Link, AB, MIDI and multi audio out ?

  • I would suggest not making comments like this, in fact i would suggest not commenting at all if there is any chance you could be wrong (end of year/q2) making comments like that just generates hype (from overexcited customers) that you have been unable to live up to (not your fault, but still you made the comments)
A hint of a companion app can soon turn in to a promised (overexcited customers) companion app that you failed to deliver.

You are absolutely right. As of now, it's still one of the many feature requests we've been collecting.

What about Soundfonts? Can the sampler read sf2 or sfz format?

@mathieugarcia I'm also very interested in this since I have a gigantic soundfont collection. Quite frankly, I dislike Bismark, because I can't physically store more than four soundfonts at a time on it and have to link my iPad up to my PC each time I want to switch out a Soundfont rather than have all of my soundfonts stored in Bismark's folder system all at once. (At least, this is what I remember from a year ago. Maybe I'm wrong now?)

We're thinking of having a companion app for converting formats. And not just only SF2? We'll see :-)

Cool. Thing is, some sf2 files have multiple timbres (like one timbre could be a piano, another a string section, etc). Would the file conversion tool be able to extract all timbres from a multitimbral soundfont file? :)

Also, I have purchased a ton of DirectWave packs from FL Studio (PC software, not FLM), and I was wondering if DirectWave-to-BM3 conversion would be possible as well?

Well that convert app is still in our "wish list" ! That would require more research and right now we're focusing on the iOS release. I hope you understand :-)

    Cheers,
    Mathieu.

I suggest you could think about offering your Sampler as a single AU Instrument - as a separate product, so that users of other DAWs can give some money to your business. :D

  • Remembering what happened with EasyBeats 2 & 3, I think it's impossible the discount option to previous owners, but probably something through the bundle option. (BM2 + BM3 bundle).

It is Geist2 on iOS! Thank you Intua ! Any info for the price @mathieugarcia ?

does this mean it has Geist intelligent slicing feature?

  • Definitely an instant buy! :-)

  • Will we be able to import samples from AudioShare?

Hope so , it depends on how Intua implemented

'' Slice mode for live chopping of samples, with transient detection, split, divide, different play modes, slice fading in & out ''

  • Rest assured I'll do my very best to feed all our collective ideas in as civilised manner as humanly possible :)

With iCLoudDrive/DocumentPicker import from AudioShare should be a breeze.
Using 'Open In...' to send files from AudioShare works with most apps already.

I think @kobamo might be referring to follow actions as used in Ableton Live. Here's an article that talks about some different use cases for follow actions.

  • edited February 2017

My other favorite feature from Live besides follow actions is "Play next scene". I keep waiting for it to appear in iOS apps.
