  • Maybe obvious (?) can BM3 accommodate polyrhythms/different length scenes per part?
I found this a shortfall of iMaschine 1&2 unless I'm doing something wrong there.

This is something that @mathieugarcia could have a look at?
It should not be too hard to add individual adjustable 'end/loop-points' for each of the pad-tracks in a pattern?
(The dilemma would be how to visualise these looooooooong poly-rhythm patterns on the time-line as the loop-able pattern would most likely be longer than the longest 'loop' in the pattern).

This seems exactly what im looking for atm.

Also PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE make an option for the sampling work like with MPCs, where when you put it on sample recording on and it waits for input signal and starts the recording when there is some input. This isnt good only for sampling from external(as in external hardware) sources, but also from apps that doesent have link. And ofc sampling one shots would be much easier to sample(especially if you can set the sample length before recording). And if it would be possible to record to pads from ab remote, sampling 1 shots from other apps to 16 different pads would be completely on different level from anything else on ios.

I know triplets and the grids in the current beta go up to 1/64t.

  • Does anyone know if bm3 streams from disk? I like to load large sample libraries but they often crash or slow down apps that rely on databases.

    Yup

 thanks! Seems to tick all of the boxes for my needs at least. Is there any kind of round robin or random function with sampler layering?

  • I've just bought a iPad Pro 12 in anticipation, had the cash assigned to the new mpc range but thought nah this is much more exciting!

Wow, that's faith. But congrats on the new iPad--those Pro 12s are beasts!

Scenes and clip launch (integrated with timeline), state of the art sampler, and all the iOS music requisites (AU, AB, IAA, full-on import export etc etc)
Sounds like holy shit, Game Over...

    No Audiobus.

I will discuss with Sebastian (from Audiobus) the possibility of integrating ABv3 in BM3 !

    Cheers :-)
    Mathieu.

    Excellent!!! Thanks!!

  • When opening BM3 does it automatically load the last project? Or is there an option to open with an empty project?

woah I would of at least waited till it dropped but for your sake I hope its awesome :D

  • I still extensively use BM2 which is awesome on the pro, really inspiring piece of kit

  • is the iPad Pro actually bigger than the mpc-live or not?

  • they would make a great combo

They would make an amazing combo

  • I have a question regarding the iPad pro. The big one. When you bang the pads on the screen does it feel flimsy?

  • No its rock solid, maybe do a wee demo. Its def not the same as an mpc but thats what a controller is for.

@mathieugarcia any chance we'll sample cycling on the drum machine? I know you've said there will be mutiple samples per pad..(i think?)

I've requested 'round robin' of the layers within a pad.
BM3 will be insane when it hits the AppStore...

We have plans to add more features to the sampling engine, for even more advanced instrument programmation.

It loads the last one. The general workflow is improved compared to BM2, so you're just a few "clicks" away from being able to create a new session.

    Cheers !

    :p

Each pattern has its own length, in bars, but that would not be enough for polyrhythms.
We're getting a lot of requests for this, so let's see...!

    Cheers !
    Mathieu.

  • When I first bought the iPad Pro, I thought it was too big. After getting back to it, I think it's perfect, and this thing is a beast, CPU-wise...!

I prefer AUM's approach, please consider that as an option. Particularly in an AUv3 modular environment where some projects can be slow too load, or worse crash/freeze on load due to malfunctioning plugins.

The host gets the blame and more mental friction to use the next time.
