  • Will BM2 get IAA fx and AudioShare ? I am asking because I thought BM2 will no longer evolve (actually was surprised with the Link addition)

  • Fwiw, I have no problem at all (especially seeing what BM3 is going to be offering) with intua not giving any discount to bm2 owners. I don't really see why they would. It's not an update. It's a brand new monster of an app.

    does BM# have follow actions?

What do you mean by follow actions?

I think @kobamo might be referring to follow actions as used in Ableton Live. Here's an article that talks about some different use cases for follow actions.

Right now we have scene triggering via MIDI.

nice and thank you for that , as for follow actions they aren't really a midi issue, just instructions for what each clip should do after it's played through, maybe play the next clip, or repeat, or repeat but start from the middle of the clip, or skip the next to clips and play the following clip etc...

  • @mathieugarcia If you need any additional testers let me know.

Nice to make BM3 a new app, but If I buy it, I don't think I'll be using BM2 anymore, because they'll cover the same "ground" right ? Would be nice to have a kind of discount for BM2 owner...

I'm a BM2 owner and I think if this is as great as it looks and it drops without any major bugs it is fair to be paying full price. Granted I don't know what that price is yet..

I have plugins that do less than this that cost more than 100USD just for perspective, we really have it great in iOS land. This looks to be a bit of a gamechanger in terms of functionality. Heck it looks like it does a lot of what the new Mpc's do and they start at $1199 USD :open_mouth:

Also Nanostudio2 coming in the near future too.. exciting times for beatmaking on iOS

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^This!

    I agree!

Sry for the bump. Am I really the only one interested in this?

Hey ! We have Ableton Link, MIDI, IAA, AUv3 and external audio interface support as of now.

Yes, we have AUv3 & IAA effects, AudioShare, iCloud, Dropbox, "Open In...", iTunes USB transfers, e-mail, etc.

We are unsure if it will be included in the initial version of the app; but this is definitely in our backlog :-)

  • Definitely looking forward to this. Feature list looks great. For me the most important thing is the interface design - if they can get something more immediate and intuitive happening, it'll be absolutely killer. Best of luck to Intua.

I didn't realise that BM2 has support for AUv3. I opened BM2 but cannot find AUv3 option. Please advise.

  • Yes sorry, I was talking about BM3 :-)

  • And I'm excited to see AUv3 when it arrives in BM3!

Right here. Let's not forget that BM2 did/does lots of things, but the biggest complaint (and mine) was to do with the layout/flow etc. Looking forward to seeing if this have been solved.

Without revealing too much I think i can safely say it's miles ahead of BM2.
    Think 'Audio Share-Like' file management...

  • I think I can also safely say it's like NI Maschine (desktop) + Ableton Push 2 on iOS.
It's that good. But they need to take their time. It will be worth every penny.

It almost feels like 'hardware' :)

I am convinced. Will get slippers and pipe and wait out the winter etc.

  • Scenes and clip launch (integrated with timeline), state of the art sampler, and all the iOS music requisites (AU, AB, IAA, full-on import export etc etc)
Sounds like holy shit, Game Over...

    No Audiobus.

    Weird, BM2 has AB...guess I just assumed.

  • Personally I'm glad that AU and IAA took first priority (for the synchronization capabilities), but I would hope Audiobus gets included, because it is a very useful part of the ecosystem. Also, once Audiobus 3 comes out with the midi capability, it will be able to run synch'ed too.

I'm aware I left Ableton Link out, but that's just because I don't count Ableton Link in the same group, because it is more for live use, and not sequenced use.

I will discuss with Sebastian (from Audiobus) the possibility of integrating ABv3 in BM3 !

    Cheers :-)
    Mathieu.

  • I'm so super happy there is no trace of AudioCopy in BM3 Beta!(Let's hope it stays that way!).

I mean look at this 'knowledge-base' article from the R-Dudes, made me cringe so bad. It's 2017!
    https://retronyms.groovehq.com/knowledge_base/topics/converting-audio-files-to-16-bit-using-itunes

Any serious app supports standard files and converts them on the fly if needed...

I have to say I'm impressed by what I've seen of BM3 so far. It feels like 'hardware' and can easily replace the Korg Electribe 2 'Sampler' (I've even dumped over all the original E2S factory samples to BM3 just to have some material to play around with while testing) and that's just using 16-pads in one bank!(128 pads per bank and 8 banks and you get the picture). I need a faster iPad :D

  • I've been thinking of upgrading Auria to pro version but with Beatmaker 3 coming out shortly perhaps it's better to wait. Maybe this is all I'll need for a daw music workstation
    Time will tell

  • can bm3 do quintuplets /septuplets ?
