Pattern based sequencer combined w linear.?
BYTE ME, laptop users! It's over !!!
Ahahhahahhhahhhhh... good one![:joy: :joy:](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/joy.png)
I hope the scene jam mode can be used non quantised. In Geist the playhead keeps moving as you switch between patterns, it's really great
GTL has it.

Yes, but the Cue doesn't work within the group/scene when muting/unmuting or recording loops. Sounds like Jack is working on it though, which is great.
Yes he's working on. It's still a young app![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
Hey there @mannix,
BeatMaker 3 is a brand new app so it won't be an update from BM2.
We want to keep BeatMaker 2 as it is and still update it (6 years and counting !).
Cheers !
Mathieu
Right now we have scene triggering via MIDI.
@mathieugarcia would you consider adding midi feedback for external hardware?
I mean ,when loading a project , BM3 could send the state of the parameters.
Nice to make BM3 a new app, but If I buy it, I don't think I'll be using BM2 anymore, because they'll cover the same "ground" right ? Would be nice to have a kind of discount for BM2 owner...
This looks like a dream DAW...I'll be patient while you get it right.
Thx for sorting this out!
I'm a BM2 owner and I think if this is as great as it looks and it drops without any major bugs it is fair to be paying full price. Granted I don't know what that price is yet..
I have plugins that do less than this that cost more than 100USD just for perspective, we really have it great in iOS land. This looks to be a bit of a gamechanger in terms of functionality. Heck it looks like it does a lot of what the new Mpc's do and they start at $1199 USD![:open_mouth: :open_mouth:](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/open_mouth.png)
Also Nanostudio2 coming in the near future too.. exciting times for beatmaking on iOS
This app is already so darn deep it will take me ages to find all the potential 'issues' that might be lurking under the hood. Once the technical side feels 'ok' to me I'll start with the work-flow suggestions![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
It's a pretty exhausting task and I hope there are more of us feeding ideas and helping @mathieugarcia with testing.![:D :D](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/lol.png)
I don't even know how big the 'team' behind BM3 is
Does this mean you are testing it? If so please take a look at the AU offline rendering/alignment and MIDI ppq![:D :D](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/lol.png)
I do wish the synced auto pan had a square & sine wave option and the ability to automate frequency changes. At the moment if you switch from 1/8 to 1/16 pan rates the change is not recorded.
I need to figure out how to do this properly BM3 'style'!
(Assign AUv3 to a pad, sequence it and do internal synced record/re-sample to an audio-track or another pad as regular 'freeze' is not present yet. I already suggested a 'Render Pattern to Wav' feature so I'm on it).
It also takes me time to familiarise with the app(It's pretty, ok very deep) and It's still a beta so not everything is in place or functioning as intended and I doubt I'll find every single issue. It's quite exhausting really, especially when things can be a bit shaky or yet un-fixed or not yet fully implemented...
There's nothing stopping more people from getting in touch with the dev and help him out with testing!![:D :D](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/lol.png)
@mathieugarcia will BM3 be fully backwards compatible with BM2 files..will they load exactly the same and will we have the option to download all of the original sounds/kits from BM2 into BM3? Thanks.
@mathieugarcia @Samu and anyone else beta testing. Is BM3 still a linear DAW like BM2, Auria and Cubasis? Can you record audio, vocals, guitar, etc on a linear timeline or is BM3 now strictly pattern based?
BM 2 and 3 are kind of different beasts, to be honest !
Without paid updates on the App Store, a discount is not feasible today.
Also, we feel BM3 is an entirely new app and will be updated regularly like its predecessor.
I hope you understand :-)
Cheers,
Mathieu.
I'll let @mathieugarcia answer all things related to the technical details and features of BM3.
We'll have basic support of BM2 kits; BM2 projects should come later on. The engine and architecture being pretty different, this is not an easy task.
Cheers !
Mathieu.
We kept the traditional song editor but now you have the addition of the Scenes mode. It's a per track behavior so you can have your audio tracks playing while some other tracks are in that "scene mode".
Cheers !
Mathieu.
For what these apps cost and the capabilities of BM3 I'm not looking for any price break. Feed the devs I say!
I'm willing to pay for the new app, I've bought all BMs so far, so I won't stop with this one. But you guys could perhaps do an intro price or throw it in a bundle with BM2 to reward us loyal users... I won't be mad if you don't though, just put it out already!
Sry for the bump. Am I really the only one interested in this?
These are all in BM2, so I think it is safe to say they will be in BM3.
Not sure about routing for audio out
Agree, but I can imagine We'll have basic support of BM2 kits; BM2 projects should come later on (@mathieugarcia) might be a pretty big thing for the most loyal customers (who therefore have the most BM2 projects)...
+1 on importing BM2 files. I have gazillion with automation.
