  • Would having the recorded songs able to play in background mode enabled be something that you guys think might be useful?

Even whilebas an IAA inside an AUM track?

  • Been testing this app and it is gonna get so much more interesting with all the goodies in store.

With IAA using there's a way to enable a host to begin recording right? Would this be something that you guys might want KFRT to have?

  • Link arrived in the beta today and the devs are eager to get this next release out by the end of the week. Between sample import, IAA, and Link, this is going to be a huge update for fans of this app (and hopefully new fans).

  • To be clear when talking about KRFTs sample import, we are talking about importing audio loops only or is there an actual sampler whereby we can create original instruments and play them?

Are you able to remote sync start recording AUM from KFRT or is this something no one really needs?

Importing audio loops. You can't play them, quite. But wow, the Link is there. Background audio is there. Just was running it in AUM, and it's great. Now if only you could export individual stems!

  • @ExAsperis99 audio loops still sound awesome. I reckon you could throw just about anything in there and between the sync settings and trigger settings get things working together decently without too much forethought. What's your experience been?

We're gonna add a sampler & slicer in the future :)

The experience is great. I'm not as diligent as I should be in creating clean and cleanly labeled loops, which I imagine would help a great deal. But it's very easy to get, say, a cello phrase into the app and change its pitch.

  • This dev is kickin' a$$ and takin' names yo! Love the new updates in the beta too. Birth of an iOS classic. :)

Hi Alex is full-on oscillator access in the synths also planned? (As we saw in betas of Noiz)

  • With Link in place and allowing other apps to run in parallel, I've been wanting a simple midi CC button in KRFT so that I can control transport and controls in the other apps.

So it would just send a preset CC command to another app?

In your opinion what controls would be required to make it "full". In the current beta we added the option to select the waves of the oscillators for example.

JG makes note in file, tutting as he does so...

  • @Alex fox I think I figured out what the synth engine needs besides the oscillator selection you've been working on to make it seem "fuller": a simple little keyboard to pop up on the bottom of the synth tweaking page for noodling around while you krft a sound. It could just be a one octave deal in whatever key you've selected with an octave up or down button. It can be too much for the ears to do all the tweaking while a pattern is looping. The ability to design a sound prior to recording with it would be much appreciated.

Yes, I was just watching Jakob Haq's vid on KRFT () and I couldn't help but think he could really do with a keyboard. I'll add it to the list .. it's getting long!

  • Yeah I was looking at all the available synth parameters and to me it seems like it's all mostly there and the lack of a little keyboard is pretty much the only thing keeping it from feeling like a synth you can sit down and program.

  • @Alex fox said:

Yep, exactly. So, I want a button that I can aim at another app's play button so that I can start/stop a sequence in that app, turn effects on, etc. Simple and easy--fits the KRFT mission!

did they put a better version of the ikaossilator x/y pad midi note controller in the app yet?

  • @kobamoto the holy grail remains to be found. Sorry.

  • I like the plans for the future, one of my favourite things about mobile music making (aside from actually making noise) is following an app from the beginning and seeing it grow into a classic.

Thanks Alex, yep...that's the parameter I was hoping for, with the more wave types the better, incl. variable pcm, drawable etc (just to be a greedy synth nerd for a sec)

Keep up the good work you guys

I'm with you on this. I love this app, and getting some great leads, but I'm struggling with the basses a bit - I like a big, simple, clean thud of a bass but not quite hitting the spot.

I can add some new new presets in the update if you provide some reference sounds :)

Thanks Alex, I'll have a listen and see what I can find!

Don't take it as a criticism though, I love the app - great fun and innovative design!

    Found any thing yet? ;)

Just having another play (still loving it by the way), and I'm finding the bass sounds very 'modern electro' sounding - lots of wobbles, ravey slightly detuned stuff...which is nice, but there are no simple, clean, powerful bass synths in there. It's do-able, I made one tonight by tweaking an existing preset, but it'd be nice to have some ready-made.

What I'm after is some simple, clean sounds that would work well in a band setting. Think Tangerine Dream, simple analogue sounds that give a clean base to work on. I'd like to create a few sequences to take to our next band session for the lads to pay along to - but being a bunch of hippy proggers they'd have a coronary if I whipped out a wobble bass.

It's really just the basses - the leads and drums are pretty wide ranging in style.

Another request (hopefully a simple one), is if the pitch sliders could have a numeric input - I'm finding it really hard to get them to say, 10, instead of 10.3 for example.

This is a cracking good app though - as a performance tool I reckon it's going to be unbeatable, so many thanks for your brilliant work so far.

Awesome. I'll try and work some in to the next release :)

Me too, some clean synth tones would be great.

  • In case you missed it, this has a piano loop created in sampletank and imported through AudioShare. Worked no problem.

e.g. some simple Saw + Square tones, no distortion?

Nice, really looking forward to the update, bringing in my own loops is going to add another dimension to an already wicked app.
