Oh dear, sorry to hear that, I'm using Sierra and Safari also and it all looks fine from here, anyone else having the same issue?

Perhaps try clearing your caches/history and resetting your dns cache might help, who knows! Could be that the server was down when you tried.

Working fine on my Air2, bit slow, but probably due to the large home page image.

I get a white screen on Safari on the desktop and Air 2. Doesn't even appear to be loading anything at all, so it can't be a large homepage image, at least for me. I'm also on a fairly fast connection.

Fine on my PC, iPad and phone - probably you're either being blocked by the server (send your IP to be taken off the blacklist) security software, or your provider is blocking their site.

But it loads in Chrome, so that can't be it.

Something in the browser blocking it probably. Try clearing the cache as the blokee said, you could be getting a cached offline version.

Just tried going to pages in his site that I know I haven't been to yet to make sure it wasn't something in cache. Went to the freelance page. VERY slow. Took 30secs to load in Chrome.

Ok. I'm done trying to figure this out. His is the only site that doesn't work and I don't even own his app yet. I was just checking for the forum to see if there were any more user full length compositions and something beyond the quicky snippet, one-button pushed recordings of presets that @hellquist posted. Would prefer to hear a longer finished track that's not just using presets. And, possibly a demo video from one of the beta testers of user customized patches. Was trying to check his forum that used to load a few days ago, but now doesn't.

I'll check back at a later date. Maybe after some reviews surface. I'm not ready to pull the trigger on this one yet anyway. Will hold off until it's baked a little longer.

Will also see if his site loads when I get to Starbucks in the next half hour or so to see if it loads on another connection. Other than that, I'm finished trying stuff. Figured I'd let him know. Cheers.

  • As a sound module it's gonna rock!! Especially when AB3 come out too. But for drums Drum Session it is!
Oh man and when KRFT gets midi out imagine how that's gonna sound with Layr?

  • @skiphunt please read the messages after my sound samples again. I thought it was pretty clear one (1) of the snippets was a button press, whereas the other 3 most definitely are not. Should I clarify more?

Maybe I'm not getting a good picture of how LayR works from your descriptions. You mentioned you would be making a video. Likely best I just wait for that. Thanks!

Weird. Are you in the U.S.?

  • @LivingMemorySoftware I've tested the site on

It just started working again. Works on the desktop, laptop, and iPad now. I didn't change anything, so either the dev or his host, or my provider must've corrected the issue. I'm guessing he just did something to fix it because it hasn't worked for a few days for me, but now all of a sudden it does.

That's what my clients say, after yelling at me that their sites are offline or broken. I tell them to clear their cache about 5 times, reboot their router etc. and they ignore this advice for a while and then come back and tell me 'oh it's working now - BUT I DIDNT CHANGE ANYTHING, MUST BE YOUR SERVER', after they finally give in and clear their cache. Obviously I'm not suggesting this is the same for your case though.

Then, a few days it just stopped. It didn't work this morning, then it started working about 15mins ago. Then is stopped again. Not working now.

You on Google Fiber down South? Could be an AT&T Uverse problem. Wouldn't be the first time. The Starbucks I'm trying to escape to has Google service. Will see if the problem persists there with a different service.

Seems I had a similar issue with a specific art site about a year ago. Same behavior and isolated to one site. But that one went away on it's own within a day. I thought that's what was going on here so that's why I didn't mention it earlier.

I just saw that Layr supports different tunings. One being 432 hz. Who is that forum member who has always wanted 432hz?

Yes. Each instrument within LayR can have its own midi channel. They can even have separate audio outs (well, up to 8 instruments at least).

According to @LivingMemorySoftware (Hearty Welcome & Thanks!) on his forum he says multi-port (multiple named core-midi inputs) is on the to-come-list ;)

Yes. I know. That refers to virtual midi ports 17 and above. The first 16 works just fine for now, at least in my version. I am right now outputting midi on separate channels to separate instruments. ;)

Thanks for clarifying :) I was thinking about a scenario where I have say two instruments with midi channels set to 1 and 2, and two controlling apps/devices - keyboard or sequencing app sending notes and another controller device/app sending cc messages on those channels.
Now, for example, if the keyboard plays on ch.1 and the arpeggiator app on ch.2, and the other device/app sends e.g. cc41, cc42 on ch.1 (or even ch.3), I would need ch.2 to being able to receive cc's from that channel also, because setting both channels to omni/all would rule out receiving separate notes, etc.
Maybe the group option could offer a leverage, I'm still exploring the details...

Yes. It's aggravating. More aggravating that I'm spending time trying to troubleshoot why I can't view a site that was working fine several days ago.. comes and goes. And ONLY this site. Mostly... because I'm really not even interested in visiting the site any more at this juncture. Just trying to figure out if something is going wonky on my end.

Giving it up now though. Nothing else seems effected. And since I don't have any immediate need to load his site in Safari or on an iPad, I'll just keep on truckin'. Cheers

This is easily one of , if not the fattest sounding synths I've used on iOS! Not hard to see why but it really can be built huge quickly. So many options already to unleash more beast at every turn I can hardly wait for the full show so to speak. It is going to be great hearing what others do with this one for months to come.

Apologies if this was already discussed in this very long, and growing thread but can you send MIDI out to other synths on your iPad? Assuming that even make sense for an app like this.

Also is there a "Hold" button anywhere?

Hold button's front and center on the keyboard.

  • I don't think you can send midi out and I don't think that would make sense either. It's a synth purely and there's no sequencer and the keyboard is nice and functional but nothing you would just die to use to control other synths. Why do people want synths with midi out when they have no sequencers or even clever arpeggiators?

That's why I said if it makes sense. I didn't think it did but now that it's actually available I thought I would just ask somebody who already had it. It's not a dealbreaker situation or anything for me. I'm just trying to understand how this unique synth works.

    Thanks for the reply.
