I think folks who feel that they're really going to have fun with this thing should buy it right away and then be proved right or be disappointed, like the fat lady always told me; you pays your money and you takes your choice... For everyone else I would have to suggest you hold off. This is precisely an 'opening day sale' issue or how it usually plays out hereabouts. There is a drive to get on the bus before it leaves and we all tend to whip ourselves up over it (for the price of a coffee
), but without that drive (perhaps nebulous, but still very real to the appaholic) there really is no good reason to jump in unless, you know, you just fancy it ![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)

Shhhh. Just made a ridiculous PROG patch, don't tell Monzo.....
Very wise words. I followed this thread a bit when it first started, watched the video and was cautiously impressed
. Just started to read this thread again this evening. Well after reading and having no concrete opinion of my own at the moment about this app I guess it's a no go for me. I can still hear the fat lady singing and her high B flats are a little sharp but I'll continue to listen. ![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I've fancied much on this forum hence my overindulgence
Your link requires a registration before I can read the article....brain teaser!![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Weird. Me too. It showed up initially without one though. Wasn't that great of an article anyway. Was just making an appahollic joke.![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
Quick piss take bass nibble for @Monzopro which started out a bit prog-like in the new Layr app but ended up more like a poor Weather Report rip-off on a deaf day.
I don't own it yet so perhaps you can answer me this: does Layr allow you to preview different patches in context of the performance while the patch window is open? If so, yum and a good reason to need an extra 'load' tap.
He said MIDI out is on the 'next list' already posted to this thread.
He's a single person dev shop. Every second it's not on the app store providing value to someone he's losing money. The app is a primarily a sound generator. I don't see what you're confused about.
Stop it
Ouch. After all that work to have this happen at launch.
painful.
Hi guys!
Aye, you can trust there has been no developer sleep at Living Memory Software. He has now done his bits and it is up to Apple to approve the "real" version of the app. Apparently it all comes down to version numbers that need to be updated along with the actual version of the code. The problem is that when you, as a developer, sign up and register your app-in-the-making you don't know exactly then what version number it'll have when you are ready for release, after Testflights etc and what have you.
Then when you finish your app and say to Apple "yep, this is ready now", unless you also correct the version number you first typed in, they will publish the version that matches the version number in THAT database record, i.e. your first draft of the app. I believe this is what happened to Kirnu as well.
So, instead of release celebrations the dev now has a "please please please hurry update" situation, which isn't ideal for anyone, as releasing your first major app is stressful enough as it is. From what I can tell the dev hasn't slept much over the last week(s) anyways, polishing up the version of the app that I have been raving about (which truly is amazing). Sit tight. Have understanding. A monster synth is making its way through AppStore approvals to a device close to you.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Sounds like the same oddity that afflicted Cream Mobile at the outset. I think Layr may fare better in the aftermath.
Info/Support via Facebook. Thanks but no thanks. €20 saved.
Btw wise words from @JohnnyGoodyear about launch sales.
my apologies to the dev, I seem to have gotten this confused with something else, went back thanks to your post to get re-enlightened.... but to answer your question it was my confusion not yours![:p :p](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/tongue.png)
btw thanks Syrupcore
Ah, yes thanks, totally correct, that's what I meant with "Kirnu", but I forgot the app actually was called called Cream.
I purchased both the iOS version and the desktop version of Cream at the same day, and I have to search for Kirnu in AU/VST (on desktop) when looking for it.
Yes, I too think LayR will fare better in the aftermath, simply due to the fact it (the real version) actually is easy to use, and it is easy to get advanced things going quickly, due to great UI and great sounds. Cream I have to re-learn every time I open it, which is not the case with LayR.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Well...info/support via own web site and info also via Facebook, given that 2 billion earthlings hang there. They have stated they'd prefer communicating via their web site/forum to keep the support e-mails focused on actual support. I wouldn't diss someone for also using Facebook. That they don't offer full support via someone else's forum (such as this one) is also quite understandable IMHO.
If you truly would like make feature suggestions, or get updated info: http://www.livingmemorysoftware.com/joomla/

Otherwise it is quite likely I and others will ensure messages trickle in here too.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Thanks @hellquist
Yours truly
Looks and sounds nice but I'm waiting until this one has been worn in before I try it.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
As an antidote I've been doing some layering with Twin 2 in Auria Pro and realise I should be using that synth a lot more
I'll definitely be picking the app up once the correct app build hits the App Store. @hellquist thank you for sharing your experiences with the app with us.
Ok, what is wrong in the first build? What happens if I try using it presently as is until an update is released? Eager to buy here.
Yes, preview by activating the 'midi' icon (in the corner of the patch load window) and playing notes on keyboard - together with the 'solo' buttons (and volumes) on the instrument and/or layer tracks.
On a sidenote, that 'midi' preview icon inspired me to open up MidiSequencer, the dev of which asked on their forum, if he might consider the option of several different virtual midi input sources:
That way you could offer >16 midi channels which may expand the automation & control possible using remote/sequencer apps/sources.
...
Nice to see you here Tony, multi-port goes onto the list: although its implementation will need some thought so I'll start a think going.
Living Memory Software 1 day ago'
Johnny seems to not be having trouble with it on his iPad Pro.
@Tritonman no issues so far using Air 2 iOS 10.1.1
Easily one of the best UI's of any music app I've used. IMHO of course...![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
Yes, in the patch window activating the 'midi' icon in the corner, you can preview layer components by playing the keyboard, together with 'solo' and volumes of the instrument/layer tracks.
The app is only 16,7 MB. Is the sound quality good? How can it be with that small amount of MB's?
If you scroll this thread you'll see that it isn't the correct build in the AppStore. However, my installed version of the beta is 31.7 mb, which isn't large either. It is magic as far as I am concerned. Then again, I consider most synthesis magic.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
You can hear some of the sounds played by me over here:
You can also hear some sounds (scroll down) and watch two video clips of it over here: http://www.livingmemorysoftware.com/joomla/index.php/hidden-menu-item/official-layr-dems-tuts
Remember though: it is NOT the correct build in the AppStore at the moment. The correct build of it will be in the store soon I hope. My sound samples come from a later build than the one in the store.
