I was thinking of finally getting Push2 for working with this app.
Having decent velocity info on pads would be a million times better than tapping on a glass surface.
I just hope its easy to integrate
Plus I am very frustrated with the glass playing surface as an expressive velocity instrument.
Push2 would be my choice though
you obviously had a V-8 today
The fact it can integrate multiple controllers means the launchpad pro + launchcontrol Xl is the best choice for me. 32 knobs , 8 faders and 16 buttons. And an additional 7 banks if required. Definitely not gonna run out of knobs this way lol. Plus I get the push's scale modes along with velocity and aftertouch For a fraction of the cost. And I've been using this combo for a long time on iOS for modstep + Aum.
Hey 5pinlink - no body was asking for advice
chill
Mines been working fine for years. Haven't really had problems with it. It's the zero mk1. Got it around launch. Maybe I'm lucky
the Ableton auto map functionality is amazing. The top 8 knobs work just like the push. So when I select a track with my launchpad pro they automatically give me the 8 relevant parameters. And I have volume controls on the right. The lower 8 knobs DNA be mapped to whatever I want like global effects. So the launchpad pro plus the remote zero are basically as good as the push although it doesn't tuas the displays for sampling obviously. And in some ways it's even better. Adding the launchcontrol to the mix and I literally have more cot roles than I will ever need lol.
Cool
Oh I definitely will keep this one with me long past it malfunctioning. But that's what I'm saying. It's got zero issues currently lol. Never had a controller as useful as this one. It even has my own custom templates for my Volcas. Basically for parameters that aren't on the actual volcas but that can be controlled via midi cc. What's super useful is that when designing a template every knob and fader can send to any of the 16 midi channels. So you can control multiple synths simultaneously. With slots for 39 custom templates it's super useful. (Slot 40 is ableton autómato) At one point I had onscreen controls for a bunch of korg gadgets sending midi on separate channels so I could tinker with them without having to look at the iPad. Along with the launchpads 16 channels I didn't even have to swap the active gadget. I will use this for a long long time to come lol.
My brother is an electronics engineer and we repair laptops, iPads, macs, phones the works. So even if something happens I will fix it. I tend to keep stuff running for decades. Hell. My go to music device is my iPod 5.5g with the wolfson Dac inside. That thing is almost 12 years old at this point. And still alive! And while I know nothing of electronics I built an Arduinome from scratch. So a few dry solder joints won't be an issue
That's the way (aha aha I like it)
Love it, @gonekrazy3000! I hate the disposable technology culture. You are fighting it nicely!
Wait..... i thought multi-touch apps are made for use without controllers. It has a damn touch screen
Touch screen aren't ready for haptic control which apps like BM3 emulate (drum pad samplers) from knobs to encoders and so. The touchscreen could be a great addition to a UI but definetly they are still far from a substitute (even with 3D touch).
You are right , at least for faders or knobs , but for pads I prefer hitting real pads than glass
Wish that Push 2 was scripted for other software.
I am not aware that there is a script (yet) that allows PUSH 2 to be used as a controller outside of Ableton, is there?
I own it and if I use it outside of Ableton it is black screen and can only play pads. I use Isotonic PrEditor, which is better than Ableton. I think PUSH 1 can be used as a controller with other software.
How is it going to be done? Anybody knows?
Strange, while i make just about 20% of my sounds with iOS these days i use mainly the touch-screen only if i do.
Yeah, i´m ready for the future.
Sometimes i use the Seaboard Rise via bluetooth but i can´t use it in MPE mode because it looses connection due to much midi traffic. I never bought any adapter or so and won´t do it. So i use it as "normal" on/off/velocity midi keyboard in this case (i also have the same problem with my macbook pro, i have to use the usb cable to get a stable workflow).
I even love the Logic remote for controlling things on my mac.
That brings me to this.....i hope that the macOS version from BM3 (if it comes officially one day) could be controlled via the app.
That would be great.
Of course i agree that tactile feedback is a different story. But the visual feedback on those iPads (especially the shiny new 120Hz screens) is awesome. But always having to look at the screen is not the best thing for longer sessions.
But some apps just offer awesome ways to interact with sounds and no hardware controller could replace that.
You don´t have to think about mapping your knobs and always see what parameter you change.
Some controllers are of course more advanced here. I like it simple. Just need a keyboard and maybe 8 slider/knobs at best.
Think about the iPads, macs or whatever in 10 years. Maybe you have a synth and then the fluid crystal T-1000 screen morphs into real knobs.
Interesting is that while i tryed the pencil in the apple store i really find it good as a kind of mouse input for iOS.
I also see more when i don´t have fat fingers on a small screen.
So can i use 10 pencil on one screen...like Edward Scissorhands just with pencils
I wonder how the surface dial could work for these things.
I mean there is still a lot place for some innovative ways to control sound.....
The point is " to emulate a drum pad sampler you need drum... pads" so the day the tablet market brings a true solution (there things in the work but just not ready) then we can take the "morphing screen" into whatever shape controller. Meanwhile there are GUI which take benefit from the touchscreen and others which not. Even the super cool Samplr app will be more cool with some midi input (roli blocks could be useful) since pad on crystal is awful. Even the mogees/impaktor approach is better IMO and keeps the touch and look near but not disturbing... when I hit the screen I can't see what happens and sometimes hit things I don't want but can't notice since there is not haptic feedback.
It's called "the tOUCH hardware moment"
Oh i would love if i could use the magic trackpad with force touch also for iOS. It would be great for editing or fine tuning. Like i said, the pencil already works a bit like a mouse pointer input.
I just wish Apple would make the convergence of their devices more user friendly and straight forward.
No need really for a touch screen on my macbook and i also need not all the things my macbook has for an iPad but if Apple would let me f.e. use the pencil for my mac in any way or would let me use the magic mouse, trackpad, whatever on an iPad it would be so much better for my workflow that it would be too good to be true.
But then controllers like the iSensel etc, looks interesting too. But it seems that all these controllers don´t have iOS dashboards to set them up or customize them. If i work on iOS i won´t have to use a desktop software to change things.
It´s still a long (interesting way).
My plan is....win the lottery and just buy all the shit
Almost you have a Roli Seaboard... which is my lotto plan
How did you get that smiley on your post?
Fingers crossed, that would make me happy....BTW it was released in march.

Wow, that is certainly cool. It does sorta beg the question about why you'd want to use the Push2 display rather than the big iPad display?
Think of it another way. Why use an iPad when you can use a push 2 and an iPhone in airplane mode ? The push 2 screens will be much bigger than the iPhone.

without "_"

If you put : and without space type letters all the family emerge
Why is INTUA not even showing a video of BM3 after announcing a Drop Date with less than a month to go... and having their faithful customers wait so many years for BM3..
Anyway, does this thing have a clip launching feature?
Edit... and what is 'scene' mode?
got some great advice twice from you in the same day... I was gonna say Red Bull but I don't like Red Bull
Nice. Didn't know that
