    Yes on IOS

Thanks. I was confused for a moment there.
I'll need to hear a demo for this. I can't imagine that I need a LOUDER button for $9.99.

I have just updated Gadget to get ready to pounce- there is no option in my listing to purchase DeeMax that I can see :/

Down in the left corner, under Master there are two buttons, OFF and Reverb. Select the OFF button and you can purchase DeeMax.

Thanks for that clocked it now - Lisbon has also now downloaded.

    Eventually you will. Trust me.

  • Lisbon is a good one. Lots of sonic madness to be had. No puzzles involved in working it out- it's basically intuitively fiddle about and something decent will come. Great fun to be had drawing in the plentiful automation options. You can move the notes in the grid and change the preset as the arpeggios plays. It goes well with Effects in Audiobus/AUM. If you are in to EDM or experimental type music- it's a must have Gadget.

  • It's also got a sliding 'gate' ribbon- as per Korg Monotribe !!!!!!!!!! :D

  • Vancouver with the nanoKEY Studio and a quick re-map of the default knobs (To Pitch, SampleStart, Length, Loop Length, Loop On/Off and Reverse On/Off) is a total blast :)

Why don't you just make the amp louder and have 10 be the loudest?

I think this is only necessary if you finish a track in Gadget, which isn't likely if you have Auria and the FabFilter plug ins.

But I would eagerly listen to a Lisbon demo if anybody wants to give it a run-through. The demos that Korg includes are universally atrocious!

  • Question for all who went all-in - what really does DeeMax?

  • @LucidMusicInc said:
Gadgets still a battery monster. Drains faster than it can charge :(

:'( :'( Damn, with every update i have hope they finally fixed that...

(On the Mac here) DeeMax is a maximizer which has precious few controls yet is Very effective: the main lever maxes volume while keeping the master output below red / overload. The 'Turbo' switch allows some lovely overdrive through which really pushes the "umph" factor. The 'Safe' switch compresses the signal into a more uniform and smoother sound while turning Safe off gives a fully rough and raw feel to the output.

After running audio through DeeMax then bypassing it Gadget output feels almost laughably polite as audio goes from a roar to a calm speaking voice and though not everyone will want DeeMax on everything I personally can't imagine Gadget without it now.

Gadgets Limiter only has one setting which is fine for a mild boost but if you over do it you loose a lot to the ducking effect. I'm no expert but I suspect the DeeMax has some "look ahead" compression meaning it can boost quiet sounds and lower the louder sounds instantaneously giving you that very sharp crisp contrasting sound. Maybe you could get that same result with careful mixing on each channel but for most n00b Gadget users, they could instead just flip the switch.

  • Anyone able to import into Vancouver? All my wav files are greyed out, as are the aiff files.

Maybe it only accepts 44 k wavs? Just spitballin, I don’t use Gadget. Just came to see if that sci fi synth was anything worth having

I had the same greyed out thing I think (on my Mac). Very first time I tried importing. But then trying again it works fine, and basically, yes, I can import wavs no problem, as well as .mp3s actually.

I’ve just made an instrument out of my favourite Animoog patch (which has a 12 second release time).

It sounds very, very good playing it polyphonically in Gadget and being able to sequence it with the Gadget piano roll. It sounds good for 1 octave up and down from middle C. After that it starts to sound a bit weird.

But reverse it, change the start / stop points and play low down the keyboard with the Appollo reverb on and it sounds very weird in a very cool way.

Lots of fun and lots of nice possibilities.

I see my error. I was trying to import into the preset, not the sample slot. I feel like Abu Dhabi, Vancouver and Bilbao should be combined into one decent gadget.

sounds nice . but i'm feeling a bit of a sulk coming on.. the ios version seems to have a strict 5 second limit... how come they have relaxed that for Mac? can you get the whole 12 secs of yr release in the waveform window?
maybe i can trick it with a 22khz mono wav , or maybe mp3 doesn't have the truncation??

You just need to re-link your Dropbox in the settings, then it’ll work.

Nope. You can Import presets, but not samples to pads.

I guess the capability is there for samples one day and I still can’t get drop box to work or audio share to show up under the new gadgets. Korgs worst role out ever.

    These ones go to 11

actually you are right. i imported a wav with me counting out the seconds ( roughly ).and i can hear it all if i play middle C
HOWEVER , i think there is a bug here as only the first five seconds will display in the waveform window. no matter how much pinch zooming i do. .. in fact i think the whole waveform interface doesn't match what is playing real time for me. anyone else finding this?
