  • Sorry,precommande!

    Great

  • Merry musical Christmas- sorry kids- I'll be with you in a moment.

  • Yeah, he mentioned something about being able to pre-order the app :)

  • If you're interested in getting the app and have never used the electribe 2,hit YouTube and check out electribe 2 tutorials.

  • What type of export/s are we to expect?

  • Sneak peak of the built in patterns and sounds:

Oh, and the German store has a preview or such:
    https://itunes.apple.com/de/app/groove-rider-gr-16/id1318750537?mt=8

This means: 10,99 Euro or 9,99 Dollar (half price) for a limited time.

  • Who needs electribe? Yet who needs GR-16 if on has Gadget. Damn you Korg!

  • This looks very legit. Will be buying

Ableton Export is planned as far as I know but may be not in initial release...
For now I treat it as 'hardware' and record the output(IAA/AB), with link that's a breeze!

Those who know me I'm pushing for all standard export options we've gotten used to.
But I'm not the developer so what comes, comes and some things might come with an update :)

Needless to say I will most likely not be using my hardware Electribe 2 that much once this app is out...
(In some ways it's more flexible than the hardware, especially when it comes to editing the automation).

  • Looks like Christmas is coming early this year :)

  • 24th? Whats about that iTunes connect closing timeframe when nothing goes on or off or up?
Did they abandon that by now?

    Wow.

iSequence meets Diode 108 meets Attack meets iSpark meets God.

I am just so delighted with the looks of this app.

I use Patterning like this so this is gonna be amazing because Universal.

  • So it says it's step sequencer based but it looks like you can record live from the pads does this seem accurate? Also, that erase button. Good good.

Yepp, recording using pads works fine as well as grabbing any knob(s) and recording their automation too :)

Awesome. These types of apps are my favorite. Pulse didn't quite work out. Groovebox still isn't grooveboxy enough. Very excited

  • I hope he's got Korgs blessing for this app, because short of the name, it is an Electribe 2

No clue but GR beats the Korg Electribe 2 in it's own game by a long shot...

I mean a simple thing like editing automation here (in GR) you just tap a step and tweak a knob, that's a no-can-do on the Electribe 2 :)

It has been tradition for beatboxes to pinch ideas from each other over the years

Yes, but usually the box looks quite different ;)

  • Concept wise it’s pretty similar, no doubting that lol

Hi- I am wondering if it has monophonic/replace record option like figure or iKaossilator? That would really put the cats amongst the roast turkeys.

  • @AndyPlankton maybe he thought he better share the love after the Roland tribute app ;)

    +1. Anyone know?

There's only so many ways to do pads and knobs. I mean what is a person to do, a checkerboard of pads and knobs?

The Akai Live and SP-16, for example, have a lot of similarities in layout and I don't think either company really wants to risk a lawsuit by copying the other.

Digitakt also has an Electribe-ish layout: 16 pads on bottom, screen on upper left, and knobs in middle to right. I just think there's only so many configurations that one can do really. Most of these layouts are synth-like: keys on bottom, knobs on top.

I hope this spurs Korg to finally release an IOS electribe 2. It's inevitable but they keep delaying it with retro synths.
