  • Just picked up a new Digitakt on Sunday. It’s my first official piece of hardware, and I jumped in head first. So far it’s addicting to tinker with!

Like koba said, and if you want to make good use of the 8 MIDI tracks then consider connecting an iDevice with Gadget or Groove Rider. Very powerful combo. Both are multitimbral, both follow MIDI Clock from the Digitakt properly and Groove Rider is 4-voice polyphonic on each track, just like the DT MIDI tracks.
Import a few good FM wavetables into Groove Rider and there you have your Digitone sounds!

Enrique is a great artist and does great demos but after watching the workflow on this vid which I think is the best one out right now... I'm definitely having second thoughts about this... don't think I would be reaching for this over my iPad anytime soon.

Yeah, I felt exactly the same.

I was intrigued by it initially, but the workflow in that video definitely tempered my enthusiasm.

  • yeah, as a beat machine I'm not really feeling it but as a processor, sound module, etc... it could be nice to have in the mix Imo

  • Just added it’s cousin, the Digitone! These two are going to be trouble.

  • Pretty major software update just dropped.

  • Yeah, Digitone scale per track and the synth engine is open for any weirdest FM craziness 1.2.1 FTW

Would love more locks to be honest

I do find myself limited when I go and I have the full number.

    Maybe in an update

Yeah, for some reason, no update to Model:Samples.
But Digitakt gets randomization, which I'm not sure I understand will work exactly, but randomization is always good.

ohhhhhh sh_t been too busy all day didn't even know, is randomization all it got or anything else good digitaktwise?

  • what happen to model samples..... I want some randomization on that and internal resampling dangnammet

Randomization looks fun but scale-per-track is what I'm excited about.

yeah, elektron is king of the fun factor when it comes to automation, the model samples has me salivating for their next flagship that will hopefully utilize the model samples model of workflow, but these are good updates for the mpc. As a long time mpc user this stuff is just icing on the cake, now you can take your standard mpc production and reinterpret it in even more interesting ways onto of that, bring the live home and more easily chuck it into ableton now which is a tiny but sweet feature that helps to make the over-all workflow cohesive. I'm starting to feel about the mpc live like I did about some old 4tracks I had, with a nice beat machine and sequencer tact onto it, all my elektron boxes feed the mpc, the mpc feeds ableton

  • The 2.6 update with Ableton export is definitely appealing. So much better than Octatrack or using Overbridge with Digitakt.
