Press ? throughout the app for help also, I believe a tutorial might be on the way :-)
It definitely needs a bunch of tutorials and a comprehensive manual.
I don't think you can record the x-y pad movements, I think they're for live performance? Its worth noting however that when you call up a perameter to automate there's a white square at the bottom of the screen. If you drag this right and left with record enabled it will alter the chosen parameter and record the automation.
With some of the new features I think we're getting to the point where an Undo feature would be helpful?
On some of the synth presets, you can see the automation happening on the XY pad as the notes play, so I'm wondering how to replicate it. It could just be a modulation, I suppose, with the result playing out on the FX pad - I haven't figured that stuff out yet!
And yes, the lack of undo seems like a pretty basic omission when it comes to functionality.
Ouch! That noise burst this thing lets out sometimes isn't good at all. Hoping the master comp/limiter gets priority on the first update (or wherever the fault is located in the audio chain).
And yes to a undo system, multi-undos. I usually tend to mess something up and never get it back lol, so a undo system would help. Not a high priority thing for me though.
The app saves the project after any parameter change, which is great since iOS 7 will crash apps left and right. This keeps your work safe and all. But, I'd like to have an option to turn that whole auto-save system off (on a per session basis perhaps?). Sometimes you just want to load up a project and mess around with it without actually touching the original saved project. Saving a copy and mess around with that doesn't seem to work since any changes gets saved to both the copy and the original project file (which shouldn't happen I'm guessing).
Do anyone know how to change the speed on the phaser effect? If I insert it as a insert effect I get the XY pad with "feedback" and "depth". But I can't find a way to control the speed. I just get that "bubbely" sound you can get with a phaser that is set at a high speed and depth, not your typical phaser sound at all.
@Michael Once you program automation, which is easy but can't be done using the x-y pads, you can see its effect on any control or pad that has the parameter.
Electrify NXT tip of the day: double tap the bar indicator in a clip to choose from 1 - 8 bars length.
8:56 AM - 23 Dec 2013
Is there a way to trigger clips at different quantize settings? At the mo it seems u can only trigger and clips start at the next bar.
There are options for End, Bar, and Immediate in the "Options" menu accessed by pressing the logo top right.
Hi there,
good to read all your comments and the (mostly) positive feedback.
I will check back from time to time since you are discussing important things for the app.
But the probability I read your wishes and concerns increases a little if you also send me mails. (www.electrify.info)
Regarding midi-sync: I have implemented the library of the Midibus developer. Still a little bit clunky but much more stable now. Note: you don’t need the Midibus App in order to make midi work.
Regarding undo / redo: undo / redo relies on commands to be put on a stack. A big portion of changes you do in the app is already implemented in commands. But the far bigger part is implementing the undo since all controls have to listen to changes in the model which can get really complicated and elaborate. I am constantly thinking about this feature but I cannot implement it at the moment.
@dj8 "As far as I can see, there's no way to pitch shift individual loops and keep them in tempo. "
Will come in a future update.
"Looks like the Scenes feature is only working for FX (not saving EQ, MODs, MAIN). Going to report on NXT site…"
Works for FX and Instruments.
@gjcyrus Please use the feedback form on electrify.info for a detailed description of your 24bit-problem.
@DaveMagoo IAA will also come soon.
@ChrisG I am investigating the pops. Also will think about a proper solution to turn off autosave. Will check the phaser, too.
@Skipp Will improve on the warp markers
Coming up is a bugfix release which fixes the most urgent problems and improves midi.
After that I will work on small improvements and tutorials.
When the air is clear finally, I will go through my feature list and start implementing feature requests.
Thank you. What more can we ask for?
@Electrify
Many thanks for sparing the time to post in response to our comments, appreciated!
The warp markers work but sometimes they're hard to select and they don't always warp the audio in the way you expect...
I've spent a good part of today dropping loops I created with the Little Bits Synth Kit into E Nxt. This gave me a good chance to observe the behavior of the looper. Generally the tempo sync was great but on occasion it halved the tempo of the loop. Some way to force the loop to a specified number of bars would be really handy. As already noted above pitch control would also be great.
I've had some success with the scenes function...but it doesn't always work the way I expect and sometimes it seems to to either get erased or return to the current value. I had also thought it might be possible to morph between two sets of automation data but this does not seem to be possible? A tutorial on scenes and what is possible would be great
Just worked out how to force a sample in the looper to be looped to a selected number of bars...just double click on the bar track below the sample and adjust as you would for the number of bars in the clip...doh!
Thanks, @electrify. Looking forward to the updates!
As you mention, @Skipp, maybe it's that Scenes work different than I thought it would for settings other than FX... I'll keep trying this out. Anyone else having success w thus outside if FXs?
Nope, FX only here.
Just tried a simple test. Set a loop with a pulsing bass going into a distortion and a delay and tried to automate three parameters between scene A and B.
Both the Effect and the Main parameter work perfectly but the Mod parameter was completely unaffected. I can understand not being able to change the shape or rate of the mod using a scene but mod amount seems like a fairly key parameter to have available? Hopefully in a future update?!
@Electrify - Per your instructions in an earlier post, I left a comment on your forum Dec 21st. But the user community here in general is much faster to respond, thanks.

I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned but It would be great if we had the option to create our own folders in the user folder from within the app itself, and then have the option to move my audiocopied samples into my desired user folders without leaving the ipad.
This would be a great addition to the workflow.
Edit: And also the looper could do with the awesome beat markers as in Samplr, then we can play the loop like a drum kit for example and use the ace swing function.....just an idea
I am importing some loops testing this thing out and when I import loops with 4 beats they seem to import at the correct tempo. If I Import a loop with 2 beats it imports at half the speed and if I import a loop with 8 beats it doubles the speed ?
Is there a way to tell Electrify how many bars the loop is like Glitchbreaks for example where it asks you how many bars the loop has ?
Hopefully I just overlooked it
@Dave See my post 7 above!
Double click on the bar track below the sample wave form and you get the same dialogue box as for changing the number of bars in the clip. This time however it changes the number of bars the sample is looped over. Note however that 1 bar is the minimum so two beats isn't going to work.
Ahhh thanks @Skipp worked a treat

Just noticed the new/updated phaser effect. That was a fast update on that one! Thanks @electrify.
Top update..........It's great we can now change pitch of imported loops
Not too much to say here… Just excited about the update!
Glad to hear only good things about it so far. Looking forward to spending some time w/ it.
Question: Hows Electrify NXT compared to Samplr? I have none of them, but I was wondering does Electrify NXT have all the functionality of latter? If so I would definitly go for it.
@PiotrCBA - I would consider them two totally different beasts. Both are very good apps and well worth it. That said what are you looking to do?
Yep - Samplr is about audio warping, mangling, experimenting. NXT is about structure, creating grooves. Very different indeed. You could record your NXT doodlings into Samplr and make something wild!
So another two apps in collection... My wallet is emptier every day...
These aren't questionable though so I doubt you'll regret it
Oh, but you'll have so much fun! Every time I get into Samplr, I am astonished by the possibilities and, even, sometimes the results too. It's just so versatile and really easy to use. In fact, I want to use it now :-)
