I do hope @LFS and his team are working on re-sizable AUv3 view for the next Cubasis update or maybe even considering adding more live feedback to the stock plug-ins?(A live-histogram for Waves Q10 would be nice).

As mentioned earlier, Full AU Screen support is on our list for the upcoming Cubasis update.
BTW, congrats to our friends at FabFilter on their Pro-Q 2 release...

    Best,
    Lars

    Awesome news :)

But what about that sidechain on iOS? How, where, huh? erf? Is it possible to run two AUfx for send/recieve or some such thing? Does any other AUfx sidechain?

  • Man...I've been using Pro Q in Cubasis for the past couple of days. Even without full screen, this thing gets the job done. Easily the best EQ I've ever used. To call it just an EQ is an understatement. It's a spectral shaping powerhouse. The best $30 I've spent in a while...no regrets at all.

The (native version) FabFilters can do sidechaining in Auria, maybe the AU versions can do it in AUM?

I... I don't know if AU can pipe audio that way though... I'm worried. Are we going to have to wait on Apple to make an AU audio pipey thingy..? Scared.

    PS. More concerned about BM3/Cubasis

AU can do it but AU hosts haven't enabled that yet. AUM will be first I expect. :)

Cool, good to know. I wonder if the BM3.1 unicorn will have it ready to go.

    Regarding sidechain:

Fac Envolver, that technology should do it. (invert)

Its an OK hack but just as the fab EQ is miles beyond any other iOS EQ, so would be their compressor.

    Cool,

Its basically an envelope follower which send out a midi signal, which can be routed to example; volume.
If all else is not available, FF could use this “technology” method.

Main thing is, it’s possible outside of Auria..

The same goes for so many of their plugins. C, Volcano, Timeless, Saturn, L. …they’re all great, and when on sale, a fraction of the cost of the desktop plugins. It’s what made Auria affordable and worth it for me.

  • The only problem with this AU is that’s it’s siblings aren’t here yet. Can we fast forward life a lil bit?

  • Even though this Pro-Q 2 is quite surgical I do wonder if there's a filter that use FFT with crazy mount of bands(1024 or so) with total band rejection?(Ie. ability to totally eliminate certain frequencies).

This would be like the total opposite to additive synthesis. I do realise it would be far from 'smooth' but would surely add to the creative palette. (It would be like the levels/curves tool in Photoshop but for audio).

  • One of the things that annoys me about the FabFilters in Auria:

Names of presets can change back to ‘default setting’ when loading a project. Some of them even change the preset back to the default unless you save it as a new name.

Can anyone confirm that this is not happening with the AU version released?

Meant that specific bug there - I remember you brought it up a few times before. They listened and brought the plugins to AU, so maybe one day that'll fix that too!

Hopefully it’s already fixed in the AU versions. Will see soon as I know I will end up buying them lol ( would already have bought the first one but moving house in a weeks time)

Hehe, Let’s put it this way:

FabFilter will be the only (for now) company with its own dedicated folder on my home
    screen.

    King

Added: and I’ve finally narrowed folder amount to only 3. (A lot of apps got the chop! this year)

I await the day that BM3 / Fab become sidechain friendly. When they embrace together as brothers on the road beyond desktop tyrrany. The day of the great FAB bundle and the release of BM3.1 (AU sidechain edition) when I finaly break down and sell XMen 141 and 142 upon the Bay of E. Praise iOS.
